“WORTH IT” SEASON 3 PREMIERE, AUGUST 27

BuzzFeed today announced that its global hit series “Worth It” will return for its third season on Sunday, August 27 at 11:00 a.m. EST/ 8:00 a.m. PST via YouTube.com/BuzzFeedVideo. Hosts and Producers Steven Lim and Andrew Ilnyckyj, along with Producer and cameraman Adam Bianchi, return with 10 all-new episodes in which the series goes global, as the trio travels through New York, Los Angeles, Australia and Japan.

Each episode of “Worth It” sees its hosts try everything from mac & cheese to Australian wine at three price points — affordable, middle tier, and luxury — in order to decide which dish is the most “worth it” at a given price. The first two seasons of “Worth It” have attracted more than 300 million views and two billion minutes — or 3,500 years — of watch time.

Season 3 features celebrity chefs David Chang and Marcus Samuelsson as they both prepare Fried Chicken, with Chang’s “Caviar and Fried Chicken” dish from Momofuku Noodle Bar at $500, Samuelsson’s “Fried Yardbird” from Red Rooster at $28 as well as Sylvia’s world famous “Sylvia’s Down Home Fried Chicken” at $16.95.

“‘Worth It’ has a very intentional audience, who are consuming the series in the same ways as traditional TV. They watch ‘Worth It’ as soon as it comes out on Sundays and repeatedly come back each week for more,” said BuzzFeed’s Head of Development Matthew Henick.  “‘Worth It’s strong relationship with its audience has created what we call the ‘Worth It effect’ on the restaurants we have featured, in some cases helping to completely change the course of business for the restaurants, with many people even going on their own ‘Worth It’ food tours.”

“Filming season 3 has been a ton of fun, we are going bigger and trying the most incredible food all across the world. When ‘Worth It’ first launched, I never thought our fans would go the extra step and actually go to the restaurants we’ve featured. Because of that, many of the restaurants owners have told us the meaningful impact being featured on Worth It has had on their business – and that’s honestly, the best part of my job, being able to have a part in helping local businesses,” said Steven Lim, Creator, Host and Producer of BuzzFeed’s “Worth It.”

“Worth It” expands beyond food with the “Worth It Lifestyle” series, launching in tandem to “Worth It” Season 3 on August 27.  In “Worth It Lifestyle,” a 6-episode season featuring new episodes on YouTube.com/BuzzFeedBlue, Lim sets out to see which New York City apartment, airplane, and suit, among others, are the most “worth it” at affordable, middle tier, and luxury price points.
