True to his name, fast-rising rapper/singer TheHxliday is ringing in the new year with the celebratory BatBxy EP. The 19-year-old Baltimore artist demonstrates an uncanny knack for infectious, otherworldly melodies across the release’s six tracks, swooning and singing with an uplifting energy fitting for the birth of a new year. Listen to BatBxy HERE via Motown Records.
“BatBxy is about my past year experiences. It’s a special note from me to my fans,” says TheHxliday, “I wanted to drop BatBxy on New Year’s Day specifically because I feel like itߣs me stepping out of my old self. It’s about the learning process that I’ve been going through in 2020 going into the new me in 2021.”
Early singles like the moody “Thank U” and the carefree “Laugh a Little” whose theatrical video dropped on Christmas day ߞshow off the young songwriter’s knack for making both struggles and triumphs feel ecstatic. Even when TheHxliday sings of pain or loss on songs like “Nxbxdy,” he coats it all in glittery, gleeful melodies. That track’s hook plays like a mission statement: “I tell myself that everything is gonna be okay/I let the negativity go a-a-away.”
BatBxy is just the latest in an impressive productive streak for TheHxliday. Since he started posting to SoundCloud in his adolescence, he’s made upwards of 1,000 songs ߞthe sort of grind that produces diamonds like his emotional 2018 breakout “Enemy,” which caught the attention of tastemaking multimedia crew Lyrical Lemonade. Since then, he’s honed his writing on songs like “Messages,” “Save Me,” which received praise by the likes of COMPLEX and FLAUNT and “Mistakes,” each of which has shot around the world, garnering millions of streams in the short time since their release. BatBxy follows in the tradition of these introspective bangers, but it also feels like the joyful start of a new era and a new year.

ABOUT THEHXLIDAY
TheHxliday is an ace at only 19-years-old. The rapper-singer-songwriter and Baltimore native mixes his melodic flow that complements thumping trap beats to create his “sad boy” sound. He creates hits straight out of his bedroom expressing his singular-eccentric ideas which separates himself from the norm. Inspired by the likes of Trippie Redd, XXXTentacion, Justin Bieber, Linkin Park, and My Chemical Romance, TheHxliday is paving his own path with a dynamic palette of darkpop, R&B, and hip-hop showcased on his EP Broken Halls. He’s featured on two tracks off Internet Money’s debut album B4 The Storm and is a newly signed Motown Records artist. His biggest hit to date “Save Me” is a banger and only one of over 1,000 songs created. According to TheHxliday “Save Me” is a “firecracker” compared to the “bombs” forthcoming.
