Having supported The Chemical Brothers on their recent Australian tour, The Avalanches have produced a special remix tribute to the 20th anniversary of the classic album, Surrender. “Out Of Control (The Avalanches Surrender To Love Mix)” is a revelation. The Avalanches take the track on a trip towards a West Coast sunset. Along the way, they manage to tilt the claustrophobic electronic drive of the original off its axis, creating a gorgeous, pulsating drift of celestial house music in the process. Listen to “Out Of Control (The Avalanches Surrender To Love Mix)” via Astralwerks HERE.

This remix of “Out Of Control” is an edit taken from a longer Surrender-inspired piece The Avalanches created that is due for release in the future.

“Out Of Control (The Avalanches Surrender To Love Mix)” is accompanied by a brand-new screen print from original Surrender artwork designer Kate Gibb using the original film from 1999. Gibb has also helped to create a truly stunning visualizer for the track alongside graphic artist Jimmy Turrell – watch it HERE.

“Out Of Control” was the third single taken from Surrender and featured vocals by New Order’s Bernard Sumner and Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie. The deluxe reissue of Surrender – featuring hours of unreleased material and a blu-ray of the band’s Glastonbury 2000 Pyramid Stage headline set – is out now HERE.

The Avalanches latest album, Wildflower, was released to critical acclaim in 2016 via Astralwerks. Pitchfork called the album “better than just about any music ever made.” “Out Of Control” is the duo’s first official remix since 2013.

Just last week, The Chemical Brothers received three GRAMMY® Award nominations, rounding the duo’s total nomination count to a staggering 14. Their hugely acclaimed ninth album, No Geography, was nominated for Best Dance/Electronic Album, while single “Got To Keep On” received a nod for Best Dance Recording and the video for “We’ve Got To Try,” which was created in partnership with premiere auto racing group Formula 1, was nominated for Best Music Video. Of the clip, Rolling Stone said, “The electronic duo’s pulsating new song is intensified by its video.” The Chemical Brothers have won four GRAMMY® Awards. The 62nd GRAMMY® Awards will take place on January 26, 2020.
