Vérité Unveils New Single “Youth”

Singer, songwriter Verite unveils new single Youth. The track was written by the artist in collaboration with Andrew Maury (Lewis Del Mar, Shawn Mendes, RAC) and Zach Nicita (Anne-Marie, Louis The Child, MS MR), who also produced. Click HERE to listen!

Vérité said about the meaning behind the track, Youth is a rare look back. When I was younger I was tangled in a relationship with an older, manipulative, shitty human. Such a par for the course, all too common cliche it actually annoys me. It amazes me how much I thought I needed this person and how small I made myself to accommodate him. How he was someone I’ve had to process, recover from, and become healthy in spite of and I am someone he never thought of again. Youth is about how someone can be so all encompassing to one person while the other views them as such a small blip on a screen that they’d never look back or remember.

In addition, Vérité is set to open for X Ambassadors on their headlining North American tour this fall. Her support dates kick off on November 1st at State Theatre in Portland, ME and wrap on November 20th at Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, CA. See routing below and click HERE for more info!

Vérité recently debuted Gone her first single in two years, via NYLON. Co-written and produced by singer-songwriter Madi Diaz and Konrad Snyder, the song reintroduced the musician, capturing the devastating effects of something ending. Carried by haunting crescendos and Vérité’s powerhouse vocals, the track sees the singer pleading for time to stand still for a little while longer before her world turns upside down. The video features stunning visuals with the backdrop of Ojai, CA and was directed by Charlie Manton. Click HERE to watch!

BUY/STREAM GONE

Vérité said about the song, Gone is about the moment before an inevitable shift. It’s the feeling of sitting still, taking in your surroundings, and burying yourself in a final scene. It’s about accepting an action as simple as getting dressed can delineate an end. It’s about leaving something/someone you’ve known behind and how the massive swell of frenetic potential energy that is all encompassing in that moment becomes a tiny blip in retrospect. It’s about being done and moving on. The sentiment is simple, the reality—overwhelming.

Gone speaks to a larger theme Vérité will be focusing on with her sophomore album: capturing the nuance of being in a relationship that isn’t romanticized or idealized. The single is the first taste of a forthcoming album Vérité has coming down the pipeline.

“Being that we all grew up acting in Disney shows, we wanted to pay homage to our past” Phantoms talk about the “Lay With Me” music video, “When we sat down with Vanessa to brainstorm ideas for the video, we knew that this idea was something both our fans and Disney fans alike would be excited to see. It represents us all growing up and moving on, but still remembering where we came from. Directed by The Dads, they did an amazing job of bringing our vision to life and making it really funny as well. We are super proud of how it turned out.”

In the past year, Phantoms have topped the charts with their single “Just A Feeling” [feat. VÉRITÉ] from the duo’s self-titled debut, Phantoms out via Casablanca/Republic Records.  “Just A Feeling” clinched the #1 spot on the Sirius/XM BPM Top 20 Countdown for over eight weeks and shattered the previous record in the process. It closed out 2017 as #1 on the Countdown and BPM’s “Breaker of the Year.” The single held the #1 spot at Dance Radio for 4 straight weeks in addition to peaking at #1 on the iTunes Top Electronic Songs Chart and clearing over 3 million Spotify streams.  This summer, Phantoms played Firefly Festival, Electric Forest, and Billboard Hot 100 Festival.  Applauded by NPR, Billboard, Dancing Astronaut, and more, Phantoms have cemented their status as electronic music’s hottest live act.

So happy this song is finally out, it’s one of our favorites.”

Vanessa Hudgens adds, “I’m so excited for this song and music video. I loved being in the studio again working with phantoms. Crazy we reconnected all these years later and got to create something we’re all very proud of.”
