THE 2019 ROUSH SUPER DUTY 

The 2019 ROUSH Super Duty brings ROUSH’s bold design and signature performance to the 2019 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty platforms.

ROUSH Performance has announced the release of its most capable heavy-duty truck ever, the 2019 ROUSH Super Duty. ROUSH offers the 2019 ROUSH Super Duty on 2019 Ford F-250 and F-350 trucks equipped with either the 6.2 liter SOHC 2-Valve Flex Fuel V8 producing 385 horsepower and 430 foot-pounds of torque or the 6.7 liter PowerStroke® Turbo Diesel V8 producing 450 horsepower and 935 foot-pounds of torque. All diesel-equipped models include a high-performance ROUSH DPF-Back Exhaust System, which improves exhaust flow and features dual custom 5-inch exhaust tips for an aggressive look.

STUNNING NEW TSR-S CAR FOLLOWS UP ON SUCCESSFUL 2018 LAUNCH

Danish hypercar specialist Zenvo has presented its Zenvo TSR-S hypercar at the Geneva International Motor Show in a new ‘Grotta Azzurra’ blue livery. The track-focused model made its debut in 2018 and features the Zentripetal active rear wing system which further contributes to the car’s extraordinary performance.

Danish high-performance automotive company Zenvo has today presented a stunning new example of its much acclaimed TSR-S model at the Geneva International Motor Show. The Zenvo TSR-S is positioned between the company’s TS1 GT car and its racetrack-bred sibling, the TSR, combining phenomenal on-road and track capabilities with ultimate exclusivity.

The TSR-S is a street legal version of the TSR – hence the ’S’ in the model name. Highlights include the innovative active multi-axis Zentripetal Wing and an in-house developed twin supercharged V8 engine. The very first TSR-S was sold and handed over to its proud owner immediately after the successful world premiere in Geneva last year. Production of the TSR-S is now underway within Zenvo’s limited build schedule of just five cars a year.

Various other features set the car apart from its rivals. The TSR-S incorporates manually-adjustable performance settings including a variable power output. In addition, the unique dual gearbox set-up can switch between a standard road gearbox configuration and a brutal mechanical direct power-shift race set-up that delivers a genuine race car experience on the track.

The TSR-S has been completely redesigned and reengineered for optimum aerodynamic performance. Combined with a further improved active rear differential and an advanced traction control system, this enables the TSR-S to deliver an unrivalled performance on the road and provide a genuinely unique hypercar experience.

Bespoke in every detail

A total of five Zenvo cars are allocated annually, which makes it unlikely that owners will ever encounter another Zenvo in the wild. Unique to the exclusive world of hypercar ownership, Zenvo offers clients a bespoke personalised watermark graphic set beneath the high-gloss finish on the carbon fibre panels, using a meticulous process carried out by master craftsmen.

“Like all our cars, the Zenvo TSR-S is 100% Danish-designed and hand-built in an extremely limited number,” says Marketing Director Peter van Rooy. “Each car is fully customisable and built to order, tailored to the precise specifications of the discerning client. For example, the TSR-S show car presented in Geneva includes an airbag steering wheel and passenger airbag, something we didn’t feature on last year’s show car when we were looking to maximise weight reduction.

“In addition, we have added just a few of the extensive range of bespoke creature comforts that are available as non-cost options to owners, including climate control, an in-car multi-media installation and a hydraulic ride-height elevation system. There is also a highly intelligent track layout app that registers your performance & cornering, then offers instant advice for subsequent laps.”

All Zenvo cars celebrate the wider wonders of nature. In 2018, the show car was in a lustrous ‘Laguna Roja’ paint finish, representing the rich hues of the freshwater ‘Red Lagoon’ in Chile. The display model for Geneva this year is a stunning new blue colour ‘Grotta Azzurra’, named after the famous sea cave on the coast of the island of Capri, Italy. The blue paint is highlighted by white racing accents.

 

Ultimate hypercar experience

Zenvo’s brand partners include Univar, Michelin, MASCOT, Rebellion Timepieces, ECCO, Nimbus Nordic, Supercar Owners Circle and Ascari Circuit. Zenvo is also marking the Geneva Motor Show with the official start of a new tri-party partnership. “This is the first time that a hypercar manufacturer (Zenvo) has joined forces with a supercar drivers’ network (Supercar Owners Circle) and a race track (Ascari Circuit),” explains van Rooy. “This exciting new partnership encapsulates the essence of what a true hypercar experience is all about: bringing together the perfect people to test Denmark’s hypercar in an ideal environment.”

Having given the TSR-S its world premiere last year, Zenvo took the time to present the car on iconic racing circuits such as Assen, Goodwood and Ascari. Now, in the fourth quarter of 2019 and in partnership with Supercar Owners Circle, Zenvo will put the TSR-S through its paces on the Ascari circuit in Ronda, Málaga.

“We will bring together a select group of clients and enthusiasts to enjoy some action-packed track days in the mild Andalusian climate,” continues van Rooy. “To commemorate this association with Ascari, we have launched the exclusive Ascari Circuit pack at the Geneva show. This is available to new TSR-S owners as a cost option and gives them free admission to our track days at the Ascari circuit, a helicopter transfer from Malaga airport to the circuit, free Ascari Club Membership and car storage for one year.

“They will also be offered a full weekend of circuit training with an official Ascari driving instructor, where they can wear their custom-made carbon fibre race helmet and race suit. The goal here is obviously not to teach Zenvo owners how to drive – they’re already very adept at that – but to maximise the driving experience on this particular track while enjoying everything the car has to offer.”

 

Zenvo Zentripetal Wing: patented active rear wing system

Since its formation in 2007, Zenvo has established a reputation for engineering excellence and innovation. Building on this foundation, advanced aerodynamic analysis and implementation of advanced airflow management on the TSR-S helps the car generate more than three times as much downforce as the TS1 GT. Central to this is the dramatic Zentripetal Wing.

The ground-breaking rear wing has two rotational axes enabling it to function both as an air brake and a cornering stabilizer. When the TSR-S corners, the wing rotates relative to the car’s longitudinal axis. This generates an inward force together with the conventional downforce, boosting inner tyre grip and cornering stability.

Vollertsen: “The Zentripetal Wing is an exceptional development that allows for increased grip and higher cornering speed. Whereas most supercars only achieve optimum downforce in cornering at a certain speed, the multi-rotational function of the wing distributes downforce in an innovative way to deliver the optimum amount of cornering grip at any speed. Whilst lifting to boost downforce, the wing also tilts while cornering – for example, lifting the left side of the wing when cornering left and vice versa to propel the car to the inside of the corner, ensuring exceptional stability and grip.”

The name ‘Zentripetal’ directly refers to the centripetal force also known as ‘centre-seeking’ force. When in an absolutely horizontal position, a conventional rear wing generates a downforce perpendicular to the horizontal position of the wing: absolute vertical. When the Zentripetal Wing tilts away from the absolute horizontal, the downforce stays perpendicular to the plane of the wing, thereby generating a centripetal force.

This centripetal force reduces the tendency of the rear end to break away – a trait that is inherent for a mid-engine car. Furthermore, the high pivot point of the wing allows it to act as an additional rear anti-roll bar. This provides additional grip to the inner wheel, reducing the chance of a loss of traction at the rear, and also ensuring increased downforce on the inner wheel. The wing also functions as an air brake when fully rotated in an upright position.

 

Advanced aerodynamic design

The aerodynamic development of the Zenvo TSR-S was focused on providing unprecedented driving dynamics. The Zentripetal Wing is only one contributor to the comprehensive new aerodynamic package – other innovative new features also play a role in enhancing stability, cornering and braking.

The front splitter is designed to improve front to rear downforce distribution by generating front downforce and directing air to the underbody. The front bumper has been updated together with the front wheel housing outlets. Together they stabilise the air around the front wheels and direct air to the intercoolers. At the same time the front wheel housing outlets extracts air from the front underbody, improving downforce and decreasing drag.

The rear body of the car features major updates with an LMP1-inspired air scoop, new diffuser and the proprietary active rear wing. The diffuser is optimised to extract air from the underbody and decrease the rear tyre wake for increased stability.

Kasper Berthu Damkjær, Senior Fluid Mechanics Specialist and founder of Aerotak ApS, participated in the development of the TSR-S aerodynamics. “The wing concept is focused on delivering high downforce while increasing the tyre load on the inboard tyres when cornering,” says Damkjær. “Conventional movable wing and flap designs, focused on inboard tyre load, function by a penalty concept where downforce is increased on the inboard section of the cornering car but not on the outboard section.  The TSR-S wing concept is able to maintain the high downforce and generate a large inwards-directed force. When the wing is tilted, downforce is only decreased by 3%, while an inward-directed force of 30% of the wing downforce is generated.”

Advanced engineering provides personalised driving characteristics for TSR-S

Zenvo has developed a reputation among hypercar enthusiasts around the world for offering clients a truly unique blend of power, performance and prestige. Using extensive lightweight carbon-fibre and other hybrid composite materials as well as a distinctive drivetrain, the quality of Zenvo engineering and the precision quality of the production are worthy successors to Denmark’s innovative ancestors.

The TSR-S comes very close to being a genuine track car even though it is still drivable on public roads, combining phenomenal handling capabilities with ultimate exclusivity. An easy-to-drive hypercar for the road, owners also have the potential to alter the car’s characteristics with a number of adjustable performance settings that transform it into a performance-focused racer.

There are three settings – Minimum (700bhp), IQ and Maximum (1177bhp). IQ is an autonomous setting that cleverly provides ‘race-car for the road’ driving characteristics. The advanced traction control system continuously assesses the grip of the tyres on the road and limits the power accordingly. Where traction allows, the IQ setting will ensure maximum power is delivered to the rear wheels whenever possible.

The experience provided by the two distinct gearbox settings makes the TSR-S feel like a genuine race car to drivers. The gearbox comprises a 7-speed paddle shift gearbox with helical-cut dog gears. The set-up can switch between a standard road gearbox directly to a race gearbox operation – a development that is unique to Zenvo.

In Race setting, the brutal direct mechanical power-shift gear change is one of the fastest-shifting powertrains in existence. In Road setting, the gear change is electronic, with sensors adjusting the gear change to remove the harshness so often experienced by a dog box. This ensures a more relaxing drive in everyday use.

Performance-focused exterior styling – inspired by nature

The TSR-S takes the powerful Danish design philosophy of previous Zenvo success stories and complements them in new ways. For instance, the piercing headlights, inspired by a sharp-eyed eagle stalking its prey before diving down to take the prize, are enhanced by a redesigned carbon fibre splitter that adds to the purposeful stance. The aggressively muscular haunches on the side profile also reflect the power of nature, reminiscent of a lion crouched on its haunches, ready to launch into action.

The redesigned headlights feature Bi-LED headlamps and daytime running lights, indicators, and a drag-reducing air duct. This configuration is developed to minimise weight and adds considerable visual impact, making the front of the TSR-S look even more aggressive and purposeful than the original TS1 GT.

As with the headlight housing, the redesigned rear light frame features a duct venting the rear wheel housing. Rear lights are reduced to only one cluster unit per side in order to save weight – there is even just a single licence plate lamp at the rear, highlighting the attention to detail provided by Zenvo’s engineers in their efforts to reduce weight.

 

The inside story – inspired by racing heritage

Every detail of the minimalistic driver-focused interior of the TSR-S reflects the overall performance-focused philosophy of a track day car. Unnecessary weight has been eliminated from the cockpit: in its ultimate configuration, the car has no sound system or speakers, no satellite navigation, no air conditioning, no airbags and mechanically operated seats, although clients can specify any level of equipment they desire.

Continuing the high-performance theme, the materials and trim finish are race-inspired. The steering wheel features a switch that has been adopted directly from racing, while the bespoke TSR-S carbon seat shells are clad in lightweight 3D-cushioned blue fabric designed to reduce heat from the driver and race-suit-gripping Alcantara, and fitted with six-point racing harnesses.

All surfaces have been stripped back to expose the structural carbon fibre, with parts upholstered in Alcantara only where necessary to eliminate reflections in the windscreen. In contrast to the TS1 GT – where Zenvo offers a wide range of precious metals for all CNC-machined trim parts – the TSR-S features a black anodised aluminium trim underlining the racing ambience of the cabin. Customers can choose their own colours here too should they wish.

The instrument cluster display graphics have been completely redesigned for the TSR-S, featuring a horizontal rev-counter inspired by retro racers from the 1980s, and central gear selection indicator. The simplicity of the display reflects the stripped-back nature of the car and emphasises to drivers the most important information they need when driving fast, such as the current gear selection and engine revs.

ABOUT ZENVO AUTOMOTIVE A/S

Zenvo has been creating 100% Danish-designed hand-built sports cars since 2007. The company was formed as a channel for the aspirations of a group of highly talented Danish engineers and designers with extensive experience gained from working with Italian and German automotive companies. Led by powertrain specialist Troels Vollertsen, with the design and styling vision of ex-RCA graduate Christian Brandt, the team aimed to build a car which combined the traditional skills of Danish styling with motorsports-derived high performance technology.

In 2016 Zenvo presented an evolution of the ST1, the TS1 GT, and the more racetrack-oriented TSR. These cars featured a completely new in-house developed 5.8-litre lightweight twin-supercharged flat-plane V8 engine producing 1102 bhp. The engine boasts a dry sump and flat-plane crankshaft configuration allowing it to rev much higher, produce power more efficiently and be mounted lower in the body for improved handling. Uniquely developed software for the Zenvo-designed motorsports-derived paddle shift 7-speed dog box provides one of the fastest-shifting powertrains in existence.

With a maximum production of just five cars a year, spread over three models – the TS1 GT, TSR and TSR-S – Zenvo cars are ultra-rare and collectible. RARE 2015 FORD SHELBY MUSTANG GT350R SELLS AT BARRETT-JACKSON TO BENEFIT PETERSEN AUTOMOTIVE MUSEUM

One of only 37 units ever produced, the Shelby belonged to the museum’s Founding Chairman Bruce Meyer, who has donated all of the proceeds to the Petersen and the Henry Ford Museum

On Friday, January 18, 2019, in front of a packed house and a live television audience, a 2015 Ford Shelby Mustang GT350R owned by Petersen Automotive Museum Founding Chairman Bruce Meyer sold for charity at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction. With 100 percent of the proceeds benefitting the Petersen and the Henry Ford Museum, the rare race spec Mustang hammered with a winning bid of $500,000 and was sold to celebrated collector and museum supporter Ron Pratte.

“The Petersen would not be the global force it is today without the help of Bruce Meyer,” said Petersen Automotive Museum Executive Director Terry L. Karges. “His tireless dedication and outstanding leadership over the past 25 years is unrivaled, and we are so thankful for his generous contribution to us through the sale of this extraordinary GT350R.”

Before crossing the block as Charity Lot #3006, Meyer’s GT350R showed less than 200 miles on the odometer. Since he took delivery of the car in 2015, Meyer prominently displayed it in his Beverly Hills Garage. His decision to offer the car at auction for charity came from his steadfast support of the Henry Ford Museum and the Petersen, where he serves as Founding Chairman of the Board of Directors and the founder of the Checkered Flag 200—the Petersen’s top-level membership program.  

Ford’s 2015 Shelby GT350R celebrated 50 years of the iconic Mustang by transforming it into an all-out, street-legal track star. Like the 1965 R-model, Ford only produced 37 units of the GT350R. Purchase, however, was restricted to Ford family and VIPs—making ownership an exclusive affair. The car features a 5.2-liter V8 backed by a six-speed manual transmission, producing 526 peak horsepower at 7,500 rpm.

While the GT350R will no longer reside in Meyer’s world-renown collection, a selection of his most important race cars will go on public display at the Petersen in the new exhibit “Winning Numbers: The First, The Fastest, The Famous” opening Saturday, February 23. The exhibit will feature a curated selection of Meyer’s most important motorsport icons, including the first production Shelby Cobra, the Porsche 935 K3 that won Le Mans, the Greer-Black-Prudhomme dragster, two Le Mans-winning Corvettes separated by more than half a century and more.

Beautiful proportions with a powerful stance give the Range Rover SV Coupe unrivalled on-road presence. The signature floating roof, continuous waistline and tapering tail are instantly recognizable Range Rover DNA, yet are expressed in a unique way for this exclusive addition to the Range Rover family.

The purity of line of the Range Rover SV Coupe is perfectly complemented by its elegant power-close doors with frameless glass. In combination with the panoramic roof, light floods into the cabin, accentuating the relaxed, sophisticated and contemporary ambience.

Carefully curated body color combinations, including a new Contour Graphic available in four duo-tone colorways, are offset by unique side vent and grille designs. This is also the first Range Rover with a 23-inch wheel option.

Enhanced luxury and exquisite craftsmanship extend inside as well. Semi-aniline leather front seats, featuring a gradated diamond quilt design unique to the SV Coupe, elevate the premium interior to a new level of luxury accommodation comparable to private jets and yachts.

Each SV Coupe will be hand-assembled by the experts at the SVO Technical Center in the UK – a first for Range Rover.

“The introduction of the new SV Coupe brings a new level of individual expression to the Range Rover portfolio and builds on the success of Special Vehicle Operations’ existing bespoke Range Rover program,” said John Edwards, Land Rover Special Operations Managing Director. “Feedback from SV clients who have already seen the vehicle in confidential commissioning sessions has been overwhelmingly positive.”

 

SV Coupe clients can choose from four front-to-rear contrast interior colorways, or a range of single-tone interior colors. Both are complemented by a choice of three elegant wood veneers. A first for Range Rover is the Nautica veneer, which carefully balances heritage craftsmanship with new technology, fusing walnut and sycamore together.

An all-new optional exterior paint finish named Liquesence joins the suite of available paint options, bringing a liquid metal finish to the Range Rover for the first time. Other optional SV paint finishes include tri-coat, tinted clear coat, pearlescent, ChromaFlairTM and satin matte.

For customers looking for a truly curated experience, seven design packs will be available featuring exterior paint, bespoke badges, and interior materials specially selected by the Jaguar Land Rover Design team. From a ‘Modernist’ theme, which features an Ethereal Silver exterior paint with a Liquesence finish and Rose Gold, Chrome Knurled badges, to a ‘Heritage’ theme, which features a Modern Luxury Green exterior paint and Vintage Tan front seats with Ebony rear seats, the SV Coupe adds a unique level of customization to the Range Rover line-up.

The SV Coupe is also the fastest-ever full-size Range Rover, with a top speed of 165mph1.  Powered by an exhilarating 557hp 5.0-liter supercharged V8 powertrain – the most powerful engine currently offered on the full-size Range Rover – means the SV Coupe can accelerate from 0-60mph in just 5.0 seconds1,3.

 

“As you’d expect from Range Rover, the engineering integrity in the SV Coupe is more than skin deep. This is a meticulously honed vehicle that’s designed for SV clients who love driving,” said Mark Stanton, Special Vehicle Operations Director.

The suspension is tuned to provide a more driver-focused edge than the standard Range Rover, with a ride height lowered by 0.31in (8mm), but will remain composed and comfortable at all times. The SV Coupe loses none of the legendary Range Rover all-terrain capability, with almost three feet (900mm) of maximum wading depth4 – and a maximum towing capacity of 7,716 lbs3.

Range Rover SV Coupe sales are anticipated to start from the fourth quarter of 2018, priced from $295,000 in the US2.

COMPELLING BODY DESIGN

With the exception of the hood and lower tailgate, all of the aluminum exterior panels, including the front and rear bumpers of the two-door SV Coupe are new. A new two-part grille features Brunel Metallic rear mesh overlaid with Bright Chrome front mesh and a Satin Indus Silver metal surround, while Bright Chrome/Black Knurled Range Rover hood and tailgate script are handcrafted in the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter in the U.K.

Noble Chrome metal side vents with Brunel Metallic mesh and Satin Indus Silver metal surrounds complement frameless doors with Power Close functionality and Bright Chrome embellished body color door handles.

 

SUBLIME PAINTWORK

Eight exterior paint colors are available, in gloss or satin finish, four offered for the first time on Range Rover: Constellation, Parallax, Liquesence and Obsidian; and four from the SV Premium Palette: Ethereal, Flux, Valloire, and Desire. The Liquesence option brings liquid metal finish to Range Rover for the first time. SV Coupe clients can also specify one-of-four exclusive duo-tone gloss Contour Graphic options: Valloire/Flux, Valloire/Ethereal, Parallax/Ethereal, Obsidian/Desire.

Sixteen additional optional SV Premium Palette colors include a range of finishes including tri-coat, tinted clear coat, pearlescent, ChromaFlairTM and satin matte finishes.

“Accentuating Range Rover SV Coupe’s proportions, and available as a unique feature for the first time, the new Contour Graphic is created by applying a contrasting paint to the flanks of the vehicle,” said McGovern. “Starting at the side vent, it flows rearwards and around to the opposite vent, and offers customers the opportunity to further personalize their specification.”

SUMPTUOUS INTERIOR

Stunning to the eye, sumptuous to the touch, the interior of the SV Coupe is a light, contemporary, space where attention to detail has been paramount. Four curated duo-tone interior colorways, contrasting light to dark, front to rear, include Orchid/Eclipse, Orchid/Vintage Tan, Brogue/Ebony and Cirrus/Lunar, while four single-tone interior colorways are also available: Ebony, Lunar, Eclipse and Vintage Tan.

The heated and cooled 20-way electrically adjustable front and 10-way electrically adjustable rear seats, wrapped in specially selected semi-aniline leather from a single tannery established in 1905, feature a unique gradated diamond quilt design. Concurrent with the latest Range Rover line, the SV Coupe has wider, deeper redesigned seats for world-class comfort.

Nautica veneer – a first for Range Rover – combines heritage craftsmanship with a patented new form-following process to fuse walnut and sycamore woods together, creating three elegant wood veneer options for the steering wheel rim, door casings, center console, instrument panel and load space floor: Nautica, Natural Black Ash and Santos Palisander.

The Land Rover InControl® Touch Pro™ Duo infotainment includes a 10-inch display, 10-inch control panel and 12-inch Interactive Driver Display, while a 10-inch full-color Head-Up Display shows turn information including street names, slope and wheel information, cruise control, RPM and gear information5. The 1700w, 23-speaker, Meridian™ 3D Signature Sound System with dual-channel subwoofer features Trifield 3D technology for optimum sound quality.

REWARDING DYNAMICS

The standard ride height of the SV Coupe is 0.31in. (8mm) lower than that of the standard Range Rover, delivering enhanced dynamic performance and aesthetics. Featuring air suspension as standard, the ride height automatically lowers by an additional 0.60in. (15mm) at cruising speeds of 65mph1 or above to enhance stability and aerodynamics.

EXTRA CARE

Unique to the Range Rover SV Coupe is an optional five-year Care Package. An extension of the existing Land Rover warranty this care package offers customers service and maintenance repairs for five years, covering scheduled service procedures as well as wiper blade, brake discs and brake pad replacements.

The Automotive Video Association (AVA), which represents nearly 500 million unique viewers per year, today announced the list of finalists for the first-ever AVA Awards. The AVA award program will be hosted Saturday, September 23rd, 2017, and held at the Resort of the Mountain in Welches, Oregon. Titled “The Mountain Run,” the AVA selected High Performance as the vehicle category for 2017 pitting some of the world’s most incredible cars and SUV’s up against one another in an all-out battle for driving supremacy. The Finalists are:

Awards competition programs are serious business in the auto industry and the AVA has developed a program that both tests out the cars capabilities, but also sets a tone of having fun while doing it. Consumers in the market place do care about horsepower numbers, but they also car about how a car will function as a daily driver. They care about how the Bluetooth works and whether the adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning actually help the driver operate the vehicle. The AVA Award program sets out to showcase all that is great about these top finalist vehicles, but also where they may be lacking in some areas. One vehicle will be crowned in each category, but the scores will be public knowledge on all vehicles.

The AVA was formed by video media outlets that span the country and this group represents the auto industry’s first-ever national media organization that focuses on video exclusively. 
The AVA was established to provide media outlets that specialize in video content the ability to promote their industry, which is the fastest growing segment within the spectrum of automotive media. The organization is made up of some of the most prominent and most followed automotive outlets in the country.

Over the past month, the AVA has been solicited by a handful of video media outlets to join this organization. The AVA looks forward to having more members join and to do this in a way that benefits all parties involved, the AVA is developing a solid foundation in 2017 and 2018 with its founding members. Once this association has been fully developed and two AVA Awards events have taken place, the group will gladly open its doors to new members.

The AVA has no boundaries and its content spans the globe. The new coalition helps promote the video aspect of covering the greater auto industry. The organization also isn’t limited to just card carrying journalists. The AVA has members that have a variety of backgrounds. The unifying nature is video and all video content is owned by its members.

The overarching goal of the AVA is to promote video as the primary outlet for content, but is also aimed at auto makers as well to showcase the power of video. Consumers today, look to video for their news. The combined bandwidth of the AVA is in the millions for monthly unique views. This is something no traditional media outlet can do.

JAGUAR F-TYPE R CONVERTIBLE #TBT

Every few years or so, a car company fabricates a phenomenon. Over the past three seasons, one of the automotive industry’s proven loudest leaders is the 2016 JAGUAR F-TYPE R Convertible for a myriad of reasons: it’s stunning blueprint, progressive transmission and obnoxious exhaust (loud and unapologetic). Coming in at around $111,245 bucks, you are simultaneously propelled into both the modern-day muscle car and luxury market segments – pushing 0 to 60 mph in under 3.9 seconds with more bells than whistles (one of the more advanced technology packages in its class). It’s 550hp 5.0 liter supercharged V8 engine bears a true sports car experience with 502 lb-ft torque, jolting heads back and forth. Furthermore, it stops at the bead of a dime with a super performance braking system – one of the best in the story of its maker.

The overall styling of the vehicle is reminiscent of the 2015 Aston Martin V8 Vantage but has a more aggressive stance with sharper lines, 20″ alloy wheels, xenon integrated headlamps with LED signature and cannon-like quad exhaust tips. This year’s model offers a much more exhilarating ride with standard AWD, allowing better cornering and less slip in wetter climate regions. Interior has carbon fiber trim, two-toned race inspired 14-way adjustable performance seats with prominent stitching and James Bond-like air vents sink down flush into the dashboard with dual climate controls and seat heaters. Fully electric cloth top retracts in less than 12 seconds, leaving just enough trunk space to stow one fully packed overnight rolling bag and weekender duffle. This year’s model also comes well-equipped with a much faster infotainment system complete with navigation and active settings for steering, engine and suspension at the touch of a button for a firmer ride experience. The sport mode takes the car from touring mode to race car-like experience in a matter of seconds with pedal shifters behind a 3 spoke chunky wheel that heats for a cool day or night driving. Or, you can left push 8-speed quickshifter into sports mode for a more manual drive atmosphere. The crackling exhaust coupled with the occasional pop at the tinge of a button was music to our ears. 
Furthermore, the general design profile slightly metamorphoses at 50 mph when rear fin automatically deploys (also causes a switch in the middle console to trigger). Wind noise was cut by a 770W Meridian audio system with 12 speakers, bolting out your favorite satellite or Bluetoothed Pandora station. There’s very small room for road/lot distraction with blind spot warning, emergency brake assist and backup sensors/camera for parking. 

We took the car for a long 4.5 hour drive from Los Angeles to Las Vegas with top down and found it to be the most comfortable ride largely due to the climate package. Even with a light drizzle, the new drive train exhibited little to no slip at high velocities. The roadster’s pure aerodynamics forced condensation to flow over our heads and not to enter the cabin while all windows were cast upward. Upon arrival at Aria Hotel & Casino, we unpacked and packed on a few rounds of blackjack; then decided to re-engage our glacier white colored car, hopping back into the cockpit for a nightly drive on the strip underneath the city’s coruscating lights.

Hands-down, the 2016 JAGUAR F-TYPE R Convertible is one of the most prolific automobiles of the millennial generation, specializing in extreme comfort, perfect execution and innovation. Kudos to Jaguar Land Rover of Tata Motors for engineering such a beautiful piece of artistic creation in motion.
