Best of Baja’s Whales, Dolphins & Sea Lions Tour

Five-year Trip Advisor Hall of Fame Award Winner Baja AirVentures offers an active travel program completely unique to the world of adventure travel. No other tour operator combines the best opportunities for marine mammal encounters on both sides of the Baja peninsula in one all-inclusive six-day ground and air-supported package.

The 6-day/5-night Best of Baja’s Whales, Dolphins & Sea Lions Tour departs weekly from Feb.3 through April 11, 2020. The all-inclusive per person rate, including round trip private air carriage from San Diego across the peninsula and back, is $3,695 (exclusive of 13% IVA Mexican tax and 3% Marine Park entrance fee).

The package includes private roundtrip air from San Diego with ample opportunity for aerial flightseeing, Pacific whale watching in Scammons Lagoon by motorized panga, two nights at a B&B in the Mexican hamlet of Guerrero Negro and three nights of total seclusion at Baja AirVentures’ Las Animas beachside eco-lodge a scenic hour’s boat ride south of Bahia de Los Angeles on the Sea of Cortez.

“The unique combination of seeing marine mammals on both coasts of the peninsula is something no other whale watching operator in Baja is able to offer in one itinerary,” says Kevin Warren, founder and owner of Baja AirVentures. “In fact, the opportunity to view these magnificent creatures from a bird’s eye perspective is a thrill and rarity in itself.”

According to Warren, through conservation efforts, the Grey whale population in the Pacific continues to rebound and grow. Last year saw a new record with over 1,800 breeding adults and babies sited at Ojo de Libre (Scammons Lagoon). This prime location has the largest concentration of the Grey whales on the planet.

After departing from San Diego in a private plane for Scammons Lagoon, participants spend the better part of three days scanning and interacting with migrating California Gray whales by boat. This is where guests often get to actually “pet friendly whales” in their natural environment. Two nights are enjoyed at a cozy B&B in the small village of Guerrero Negro. Days Four and Five are spent desert hiking, kayaking, birdwatching and snorkeling with sea lions and dolphins. Boat excursions from Las Animas provide an added opportunity to view several types of whales, including Blue and Fin whales (the two largest species in the world).

A recent guest had this to say on Trip Advisor about their intimate encounters with the Grey whales, “The small-plane flights alone, with one pilot and five passengers, were a treat. Once on the water of Scammons Lagoon, we did not merely ‘watch’ wales! Instead, our skiff was at times surrounded by these magnificent creatures. Playful and seemingly curious calves met out-stretched hands, allowing themselves to be stroked and patted, while their enormous mothers swam watchfully close by.”

After crossing the peninsula via a scenic 2-hour drive through the Valley of the Cirios (Valle de los Cirios), a large wildlife protection area filled with exotic Cirio cactus, guests arrive in Bahia de Los Angeles (Bay of the Angels) on the Sea of Cortez. A boat transfer follows, past bird-filled deserted islands and bays to Las Animas Wilderness Ecolodge. The only boat-in ecolodge along the entire coast Las Animas is a remote, eco-friendly property that accommodates up to 16 guests in eight romantic and private beach-side yurts equipped with bathroom, solar shower, composting toilets, comfortable queen- and king-sized beds, covered decks and skylight roofs. The yurts are built around the spacious main palapa which offers an expansive deck that serves as a central dining area, game area and communal lounge space.

The all-inclusive tour price of $3,695 includes double occupancy B&B and yurt accommodations, roundtrip air from San Diego, naturalist guided outings and lectures, boat transportation, healthy homemade meals, beverages (including beer and margaritas) and such activities as kayaking, snorkeling, swimming, sailing and hiking.

Illenium – Pechanga Arena

By Michelle Pisnoy × Vaughn Lowery

On December 6, 2019, Nick Miller, best known for his stage name Illenium, played Pechanga Arena in San Diego, California as a percentage of his “Ascend” Tour. From the visuals to the operation itself, Illenium put on a life-changing show.

Walking inside the sports stadium, there was a storm of people wearing Illenium’s baseball jerseys and if they weren’t wearing it, they were standing in line about to buy one. The floor seats were packed in with fans crying and waiting for Illenium to come on stage.

Finally, Illenium came out playing his guitar, with a flaming phoenix in the background, which added to the singularity of the performance. The production of the show was incredible. The performace had everything you could ask for, and more. From the pyrotechnics aspect of the show, where you could feel the rut from the very back of the room and the multiple co2 machine blasts all brought his album to life.

It was nifty to hear him play all of his tracks from “Ascend,” plus a few oldies, which made the crowd go wild and sing even louder than before. His sets kept a pure balance of explosive drops to melodic tunes, which brought fans to tears.

The grand finale of the show was epic, with “Good Things Fall Apart” being played and confetti shooting into the crowd and onto the set. Overall, the performance was not one to overlook.

Conan Gray New Single

On the eve of headlining a sold-out run across North America, The Comfort Crowd” Tour, buzzing 20-year-old bedroom pop singer-songwriter Conan Gray unveils his official new single “Maniac” today.

Check out the official music video for “Maniac”HERE and stream the song Here via Republic Records

On the song Conan said:“I wrote maniac in the shower after getting a midnight drunk sob text from my ex. They’d been running all around town telling everyone that I was some freak who wouldn’t leave them alone when in reality, they were the freak. They were the one acting like a maniac— sending strange late-night texts and showing up at my shows unannounced. T thought it was hilarious and all my friends had dealt with the same thing, so I decided to write a cathartic post break-up song dedicated to psychotic exes. that’s how maniac was born.”

Nodding to horror classics like Zombieland and Dawn of the Dead, the action goes down on “Devil’s Night” just a day before Halloween. The teasers for the video have shown Conan and his friend Jess (played by Netflix’s The End of the F***ing World star Jessica Barden) working at a movie theater. Watch the full video to see what happens……

Conan also said of the video: “I think everyone has dealt with a psycho ex at one point in their life. with the “Maniac” video, I wanted everyone’s worst nightmare to come true— all of your exes coming back from the dead to haunt you all in one night. “Night of the Living Exes,” if you will. The second I came up with the video, I knew immediately that I wanted Jess Barden from “The End Of The F***ing World” to play the best friend. Jess is incredibly talented, and her character reminds me a ton of my own best friend who I’d seen date a slew of different types of people. The jock, the artsy one, the nice one, etc. I thought it’d be fun to showcase all of the stereotypes in a cheesy 80’s horror movie esque video.”

Later this month, Conan returns to the road for “The Comfort Crowd” Tour. The six-week run kicks off October 29 at The Pageant in St. Louis, MO. It stops in major markets across the country, including New York’s Terminal 5 on November 12th, before concluding with a three-night stand at The Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, CA December 11-13.

In addition, he recently was featured in V Man’s Fall/Winter 2019 issue, UPROXXPaper, and Grammy.com in addition to receiving a nomination at the YouTube STREAMY Awards in the category of “Breakthrough Artist.”

“The Comfort Crowd” Tour follows his recent sold out European tour, as well as a momentous North American spring headline tour that included sold out shows in Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Atlanta, New York, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Chicago, and Toronto.

Full itinerary below, get tickets HERE.

Conan Gray has been making a name for himself with his songs “Comfort Crowd,”“Crush Culture,”“Checkmate” and “The King.” He’s earned praise from Troye SivanKhalid, Brockhampton’s Kevin Abstract, and BTS has SOLD OUT ALL dates on his last two headline tours, performed at Lollapalooza and recently had a showcase for fans in NY and LA with over 10,000 RSVP’s. Previously featured in V Man’s Fall/Winter 2019 issue, PaperiDFaderTeen VogueUPROXXGrammy.comMTVDazed & ConfusedBillboardGeniusClash Magazine Notion,  and more – he is currently working on his debut album due out in early 2020.

Not to mention he has a rabid online fan base of loyal followers (Instagram: 1Million FollowersTwitter: 460k FollowersYouTube 1.52 million subscribers).

Gray continues to make major waves on his own terms. A string of hits has vaulted him to the forefront of modern pop. With songs from his recent Sunset Season EP and all singles released to date has generated over 250 million streams.
Armed with nothing more than Garageband and a cheap microphone taped to a lamp, Conan Gray released his song “Idle Town” on his YouTube channel as an ode to his hometown of Georgetown, TX. The song went viral, and he later joined forces with LA based producer Dan Nigro to finalize his Sunset Season EP. In January, 2019, Conan made his television debut on Late Night with Seth Meyers, before opening for Panic at the Disco! for several shows on their arena tour. The Times
“An all-rocking, all windmilling, spikily thought-provoking album”
Mojo September 2019

As opening lines go ‘I don’t care, I know you’re going to hate this song, and that’s fair we never really got along’ from The Who’s new single “All This Music Must Fade” is perhaps the most confrontational and catchy of 2019 so far.  “All This Music Must Fade” is available now at all digital retailers. Pre-order the new album, WHO, now.

The song, which debuted on the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast show yesterday, opens the WHO album and Pete Townshend describes it as ‘A song is dedicated to every artist who has ever been accused of ripping off someone else’s song. Seriously? Our musical palette is limited enough in the 21st Century without some dork claiming to have invented a common chord scheme’.

The Who has one of the greatest rock legacies in music history, they’re one of the all-time great live bands, have sold over 100 million records worldwide including 9 US & 10 UK top ten albums and 14 UK top ten singles in a career spanning six decades.
Now Fifty-five years after they made their first recordings, The Who is back with their first new album in thirteen years entitled WHO due for release on December 6, 2019.

The eleven-track album was mostly recorded in London and Los Angeles during Spring and Summer 2019 and was co-produced by Pete Townshend & D. Sardy (who has worked with Noel Gallagher, Oasis, LCD Soundsystem, Gorillaz) with vocal production by Dave Eringa (Manic Street Preachers, Roger Daltrey, Wilko Johnson).

Singer Roger Daltrey and guitarist and songwriter Pete Townshend are joined on the album by long-time Who drummer Zak Starkey, bassist Pino Palladino along with contributions from Simon Townshend, Benmont Tench, drummers Carla Azar and Joey Waronker, bass player Gus Seyffert and Gordon Giltrap.

The album cover has been created by famed pop artist, Sir Peter Blake who first met the band in 1964 at a taping of the legendary TV show Ready Steady Go. Sir Peter designed and contributed a painting to the sleeve of The Who’s album Face Dances in 1981.

The songs on WHO cover a myriad of subjects including the Grenfell Tower fire, musical theft, spirituality, reincarnation, the power of memory and ‘an old rock star that has lost his marbles’. Singer Roger Daltrey rates it amongst their strongest “I think we’ve made our best album since Quadrophenia in 1973, Pete hasn’t lost it, he’s still a fabulous songwriter, and he’s still got that cutting edge”.

After their triumphant return to Wembley Stadium in the Summer, the band will be embarking on a UK tour featuring a full orchestra in Spring 2020, the dates are listed below.

He’s the Founder/CEO of Hollywood Unlocked and its podcast “Uncensored” which is a joint venture with Premiere Network, launching the outlet into syndication within 50 markets. Also, this is in conjunction with iHeart radio and urban contemporary radio stations worldwide.

360 Magazine had access to the exclusive event. The dimly lit venue set the tone for Lee to take center stage for his birthday speech. Yung Gravy “Tampa Bay Bustdown”

Buzzing Minnesota-born rapper Yung Gravy releases his new track “Tampa Bay Bustdown” feat. Chief Keef & Y2K today.

Listen to “Tampa Bay Bustdown” feat. Chief Keef & Y2K: HERE

“We made ‘Tampa Bay Bust Down’ like 7 months ago and I hit up Lil Tracy for his blessing since he had just dropped his own country-style rap song,” Gravy says on the track. “Then we heard ‘Old Town Road’ and knew people would instantly think we copied it. But, we realized that ‘Tampa Bay Bustdown’ bangs way too hard to not drop, so we gotta feed the people.”

On “Tampa Bay Bustdown,” Gravy and Sosa sing and flow over a unique beat produced by Y2K— a simple Southern-style banjo reminiscent of “Deliverance” is met with a heinously hard-hitting 808 pattern. Both rappers deliver some unforgettable bars and melodies that blend together perfectly with the beat.

The track follows the release of his critically acclaimed debut album Sensational, which includes tracks like “Alley Oop,” the basketball anthem featuring Lil Baby and “Gravy Train,” the 808-heavy trap twist on Maxine Nightingale’s “Right Back Where We Started From.” Sensational followed the viral success of his Snow Cougar EP, which featured “Mr. Clean” and “1 Thot 2 Thot Red Thot Blue Thot,” both certified gold by the RIAA.

Yung Gravy has headlined 3 sold out tours in North America and sold out tours in Europe and Australia/NZ as well. This fall, Gravy is headlining his 40-date tour of the US, Canada and Europe: “Experience The Sensation, Part 2.” Tickets are available here.

Billy Raffoul Live In June EP

Singer/songwriter Billy Raffoul releases Live In June EP  today, August 23, on Interscope Records.  Live In June was recorded during Raffoul’s spring 2019 club tour opening for Parachute. The set captures Raffoul’s stripped-down performance aesthetic featuring only Raffoul with his guitar and voice.  Live In June features the newly released song “Easy Tiger” as well as fan favorites “Lovely” and “Acoustic” and is available at all digital retailers now.

“Playing live for an audience has always been the most important thing to me so I am happy to share five live versions of previously released songs with you all,” says Raffoul.   “In between these songs I am trying my hand at comedy… in the event that this music thing doesn’t work out.”

Growing up in the small farming town of Leamington, Ontario, Raffoul first started writing songs at age 10, thanks in no small part to the influence of his father—a musician who’s opened for everyone from Joe Cocker to Bon Jovi. After landing his first paying gig—playing to long-haul drivers at a local truck stop—Raffoul began playing at nearby bars and clubs at age 16, often driving into Detroit for shows. He eventually connected with a manager and moved down to Nashville to push forward with his music career. Soon after scoring a deal with Interscope Records, Raffoul released the critically hailed song “Driver” and followed that with his debut EP 1975 in June 2018 which featured the fan favorite “Acoustic.”

Critical praise followed with NPR raving, “Billy Raffoul has stepped into the spotlight.” Over the past few years, Raffoul has opened for heavyweight artists like, Kings of Leon, X Ambassadors, NEEDTOBREATHE and Kaleo, captivating crowds with his understated yet intensely passionate stage presence.

Chelsea Cutler “How To Be Human”

Today, breakout singer, songwriter and producer Chelsea Cutler unveils her new single, “How To Be Human,” out now via Republic Records—listen HERE!

“How To Be Human” reveals Cutler’s inimitable knack for songwriting with honest and vulnerable lyrics, as she pleads, “I still don’t know how to be human, I don’t know what I am doing, please tell me how to be human.”

Of the song, Chelsea says, “‘How To Be Human’ is a really special song for me because it really encompasses the overall theme of what I’ve spent the last year writing about: being in your early 20’s, growing up, and becoming an adult.”

From embarking on a sold-out headline world tour, to performing on main stages at Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Governors Ball and Firefly Music Festival, to signing a deal with Republic Records, 2019 has already been a whirlwind year for Cutler. Not to mention, earlier this summer she teamed up with Kygo for their collaboration “Not Ok,” as well as with Jeremy Zucker for their 5-song project brent, which features “you were good to me.” This fall, Chelsea will perform across Europe with Lauv on his ~ how i’m feeling ~ tour.

Additionally, Ramos just shared an intimate acoustic performance video for “Dear Diary,” the introductory track from his upcoming album. Accompanied by nothing more than a piano in a sparse rehearsal room, he delivers an emotionally charged performance of the song with palpable energy and powerful spirit.

Watch it HERE

Everything sets the stage for his full-length debut coming soon via Republic Records. Undoubtedly, Ramos is set to cement himself as one of today’s boldest, brightest, and bravest new voices. Born and raised in Bushwick and of Puerto Rican descent, Anthony Ramos first made his mark originating the dual roles of John Laurens and Philip Hamilton in the TONY® and GRAMMY® Award-winning Broadway smash Hamilton. In 2018, Ramos ignited his music career as an independent solo artist on his own terms. Not only did he lend his voice to Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “Almost Like Praying” benefit single, but he also began architecting a sharp and soulful signature take on contemporary music. He teamed up with producer Will Wells [Logic, Pentatonix] for The Freedom EP, which garnered acclaim from Billboard and many others.

Ramos is currently in production as the lead in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s highly-anticipated ‘In the Heights’ movie directed by Jon M. Chu for Warner Bros to be released in June 2020. Most recently, he appeared in the Academy Award-winning film A Star Is Born, directed by Bradley Cooper and starring Lady Gaga where he played ‘Ally’s’ (GaGa) best friend and the critically-acclaimed Netflix series She’s Gotta Have It, created by Spike Lee, based on his 1986 film. He has contributed multiple songs to the show’s soundtrack, including the poignant new original song “Cry Today, Smile Tomorrow.” The song was inspired by Ramos working with a patient at Katie’s Art Project an organization that connects children facing life-threatening illnesses with artists through collaborative programs to create a lasting legacy through art. Ramos is repped by Modest! Management and Door 24.
