“Unsure” arrives as the follow-up to Megan’s debut single “On & On” ft. Tory Lanez and HoodCelebrityy. With its warm R&B vibes, dreamy texture, and heavy-hearted lyrics, “Unsure” again reveals Megan’s rare gift for assembling supreme talent — in this case, the bold intensity of Joey Bada$$, raw emotion of Yung Bleu, and soulful sensitivity of Arin Ray.

About DJ Megan Ryte

As a young woman in the music industry, Megan’s hustle, determination, and skill have been key to her steady rise from DJ to breakout star. Although she’s dealt with her fair share of adversity, those challenges have not only added to her story, but taught her the necessary lessons to achieve success. Prior to making her radio debut, Megan began building her name as a club DJ in Virginia while she was still a teenager.  Knowing she had to leave her hometown to chase her big dreams, she traveled the world as a tour DJ, then moved around the country doing radio and gaining fans in a number of major cities, including Houston, Miami, DC, Philly, and — currently – NYC’s Hot 97. Through the years, Megan has continued to expand her media brand by emerging as a TV host, writer, and now artist. You can catch the Heavy Hitter DJ on Hot 97 weekdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Timex Introduces Vincent Bérard

TIMEX GROUP LUXURY DIVISION INTRODUCES VINCENT BÉRARD, A COLLECTION OF SWISS MADE MECHANICAL WATCHES WITH A GREEN SOUL

Part of Timex Group since 2006 and originally based in La Chaux-de- Fonds, Vincent Bérard was a manufacturer of luxury mechanical watches who used Nature as a source of inspiration. By exploring his inspiring legacy and reinterpreting that connection with Nature with present day consciousness, Timex Group Luxury Division today announced the launch of a new collection of Swiss Made watches with a green soul.

The range consists of stylistic timepieces that deploy only mechanical Swiss Made movements, to avoid batteries, and use sustainable materials -recycled or eco-friendly- at a sustainable price. The green concept is visually emphasized by the customized forest green rotor, visible from the see- through case back, and by a green second hand present on all styles.

Interchangeable straps made from post-consumer recycled PET bottles, vintage vegetable tanned leather or Nuo© wood, a patented material made from thin wood micro laser etched sheets, underscore the brand’s commitment to innovative and eco-conscious creations.

Thanks to the co-operation with Treedom, a Benefit Corporation that supports agroforestry projects around the world, a tree will be planted for each watch sold.
“Sustainability has become a key marker of luxury status in the eyes of today’s consumers and adds emotional capital to the value of the watch. Our proposal addresses the «positive green», the modern businessman sensitive to environmental impact and in search of new brands to express his personality” said Paolo Marai, President and CEO of Timex Group Luxury Division.

Vincent Bérard watches, all featuring 10 ATM water resistance, screw-down crown and sapphire crystal, will be available in exclusive selected stores and online starting from September 2019.

Timex Group Luxury Division, based in Switzerland, currently markets Versace, Salvatore Ferragamo, Versus Versace, CT Scuderia and Teslar watches, in department stores, independent specialty retailers and mono-brand boutiques, as well as on key e-commerce outlets.

Dan Hotels Growth

ISRAEL’S DAN HOTELS EMBARKS ON MAJOR STRATEGIC GROWTH WITH ACQUISITION OF THREE “RIMONIM” PROPERTIES

Israel’s most prestigious hotel group Dan Hotels has acquired three hotels from Israel’s Rimonim Hotel Group, it was announced in Tel Aviv yesterday by Ronen Nissenbaum, Dan Hotels’ president and CEO. The purchase involves the Rimonim Eilat Hotel (formerly the Neptune), the Rimonim Spring Hotel in Nazareth and the boutique-style Ruth Rimonim Hotel in the heart of the ancient town of Safed.

“Part of our decision to acquire these hotels,” Nissenbaum explained, “is that they fill a gap in the Dan Hotel Corporation’s coverage of Israel, particularly with the addition of the properties in Safed and Nazareth, both located in the northern Galilee region.”

Four additional Rimonim properties may be added to the Dan Hotel chain in the coming months: one in the Negev Desert, two in Tiberias on the shore of the Sea of Galilee and one in the Golan Heights.

“Our goal is to strengthen and diversify the Dan brand,” Nissenbaum continued, “so that we are able to offer something for every traveler’s geographic need, profile and budget. For the time being, we will operate the three new hotels as they are – and in the coming months make decisions about renovations, upgrades and possible name changes.”

Dan Hotels has shown double-digit growth in revenue and profits since late 2017, “and the Rimonim acquisition will ensure that growth will accelerate even further in 2019 and 2020,” observed Nissenbaum.

Women Dominating the World of Travel

Badass Women Who Are Dominating the World of Adventure Travel

In honor of International Women’s Day, Friday March 8, 2019, these inspiring travel professionals are working to make outdoor travel a more balanced place for women around the world.

This Mar. 8, 2019 is International Women’s Day (IWD), and the theme is #BalanceforBetter, focusing on how a more gender-balanced world will create a better working environment for everyone. It couldn’t come at a better time; in the outdoor travel industry, women have been historically under-represented – particularly in leadership positions. According to The Adventure Travel Trade Association’s report “Out in Front: Tracking Women’s Leadership in Adventure Travel,” while women make up 60-70% of the travel industry, only 38% of board positions are held by females in the adventure sector, and there are significantly fewer female guides on average, especially in developing destinations.

However, women are beginning to break down the barriers of this male-dominated sector, and along with “The Rise of the Female Adventurer” and women’s-only travel providers comes a marked increase in women taking on more leadership roles, and challenging the status quo.

Here are just a handful of driven, fearless women from around the world who are working every day to make their mark in adventure travel:

Payal Mehta

Expedition Leader – India, Nepal & Bhutan

Natural Habitat Adventures

Payal Mehta may have spent her childhood in urban Mumbai, but her lifelong love for the outdoors has led her to become a Nat Hab Expedition Leader, guiding travelers throughout the remote and wild areas of India, Nepal and Bhutan. Once a member of an elite training program for India safari guides, Payal started leading tours in India’s Kanha National Park, and is now a multi-disciplined wilderness specialist and trained mountaineer. As a Nat Hab guide, Payal interprets the nature and local culture she and her groups explore together, as well as being a translator, teacher and storyteller – all while ensuring the trip runs smoothly.

Badass Claim to Fame: “I was part of an all-women mountaineering expedition up the 6420-metre-high Mt. White Sail in the Himalayas. We ended up in a serious rescue situation on our way back when our guide suffered high altitude pulmonary edema. But we all made it back alive!”

Future Goals: “I’d love to have my own wildlife tourism project near a forest. One that is much more than a commercial outfit, that truly involves everyone in the local community, is a center for learning and is run with high standards of environmental consciousness.”

What IWD Means to Payal: “It’s saluting and celebrating all the women of the past who fought for women’s place in society, and because of whom I get to enjoy my life as it is today. It also brings a hope that the message will continue to spread and there will be further change in attitudes in the future.”

Maritza Chacacanta

Deputy Operations Manager – Treks, Inca Trail

Exodus Travels

Maritza Chacanta is a proud single mother and a former Inca Trail Guide who has worked her way up to become the Deputy Operations Manager for Exodus Travels. When Maritza was first told how challenging it was to become an Exodus guide (applicants have to take special training courses and be among the best guides in order to be hired), she became determined to secure the coveted role. After years of hard work and dedication, Maritza made good on her promise to herself – and is now not only leading Exodus Travels’ signature Inca treks, but managing the operations from start to finish while collaborating with porters, horse wranglers, and guides.

Badass Claim to Fame: “Being a single mom is one of the things I’m proudest of. Nowadays, women do not need a man to push ahead. To the single mothers out there: it’s important to know that you are not alone. You can have a successful career while being a successful mom.”

Future Goals: “To develop some projects related to the environment (reforestation, clean campaigns, etc.), and train our staff on how important it is to take care the environment – not only to benefit our treks, but to share the results with our communities.”

What IWD Means to Maritza: “It means rights and gender equality. [It’s the ability to] make your decisions – and be free from violence and discrimination.”

Alice Goodridge

Adventure Coordinator – Scotland

Wilderness Scotland

Alice Goodridge keeps a sledgehammer in her car during the winter, so she can go swimming anytime, anywhere – no matter how frozen the lochs may be. That’s because as an extreme cold water swimmer, she isn’t afraid of a little physical discomfort – which is part of what made her want to become an Adventure Coordinator for Wilderness Scotland.

The company runs the type of trips Alice always wanted to experience herself, which means she now combines her love of the great outdoors with her expertise in organizing sustainability and adventure holidays.

Badass Claim to Fame: “My long distance and cold-water swims. I swam the 21-mile English Channel in 2012 and the length of the 22-mile Loch Lomond in 2018, which took place overnight from 6 p.m. – 8 a.m. the next morning. I also completed an Ice Mile last year, which was a mile in water less than 5 C° without a wetsuit.”

Future Goals: “I want to challenge myself in a discipline I am not so familiar with. I am currently working through my sea kayaking qualifications, with the hope of becoming a sea kayak guide in the future. Paddling or swimming… any excuse to spend more time on/in the water! “

What IWD Means to Alice: “There is still a lot of inequality in the outdoor activity sector and International Women’s Day mean taking a closer look and seeing what can be done about it. UK society is 51% female. Yet we know that there are less women and girls participating in the types of outdoor activities likely to lead to the interest, skill and motivation to pursue a career in this area. I would like to see greater equality in the outdoor activity sector and a higher percentage of female guides leading walking, biking and paddling trips in the UK.”

Laura Adams

Explorer, Consultant & Artist – BC, Canada

Adventure Canada

Laura Adams, an Adventure Canada expedition guide, is also a professional member of the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides and the Canadian Avalanche Association and was the fifth woman in Canada to become a fully certified winter Ski Guide. She also has a Masters degree in Leadership, with her research focused on decision making and risk management in mountain environments. In her spare time, Laura mentors people who aspire to a career in the professional mountain guiding industry, and coaches women in building leadership and backcountry skills.

Badass Claim to Fame: “In January 2019 I lead a small group expedition to Northern China; close to the borders of Kazakhstan, Russia and Mongolia to experience the ancient Tuvan mountain culture, and to ski-tour amongst the ‘Golden’ mountains of the region. We went during a time when China/Canada relations were tense, which added a great deal to the risk of traveling to this little-known part of the world. We all embraced the challenges with faith and endurance, and were rewarded with a remarkable experience of awe, cooperation, trust, and unity.”

Future Goals: I am now focusing my career to increasing awareness, stewardship and leadership of these special places and cultures; through expeditions, my art and speaking/presentations.

What IWD Means to Laura: “International Women’s Day calls on us to give thanks and appreciation for the women in our lives and communities who live life with courage, integrity, and grace, who don’t just accept the way things are, and who make a genuine difference in the lives of themselves and others. It’s a day to inspire and cultivate qualities in emerging women around us who have big dreams and can make their ideas real.”

2 CHAINZ’ 5th  STUDIO ALBUM ‘RAP OR GO TO THE LEAGUE’ – A&R’d BY LEBRON JAMES – SET FOR MARCH 1ST RELEASE VIA DEF JAM RECORDINGS

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH THE FIRST TRAILER FOR THE 2 CHAINZ X LEBRON

2 Chainz, the multi-platinum, Grammy Award®-winning MC and “One of the Very Best Rappers Alive” (Noisey), confirms his highly anticipated fifth studio album, RAP OR GO TO THE LEAGUE, A&R’d by LeBron James, is set for a March 1st release via Def Jam Recordings.

The countdown to March 1st is officially on, as Apple Music rolls out the first two trailers for 2 Chainz x LeBron James RAP OR GO TO THE LEAGUE, an exclusive in-depth conversation between two of the biggest titans in their respective fields.  As long time friends and fans of one another, 2 Chainz and LeBron represent the true intersection of music and sports.

WATCH THE SECOND TRAILER HERE: @2Chainz

The title RAP OR GO TO THE LEAGUE challenges the notion that the only way out of the inner city is either to become a rapper or a ball player. (In fact, 2 Chainz has done both, earning a full ride to college for basketball and graduating at the top of his class, and becoming a superstar rapper.) Chainz’ new album – easily his most personal, most lyrical, most soulful to date – flips that trope on its head, celebrating black excellence and focusing on the power of education and entrepreneurship.

The eagerly awaited RAP OR GO TO THE LEAGUE is Chainz’ first official new long-player since his platinum #1 release of 2017, Pretty Girls Like Trap Music. That LP has netted over 2 billion streams after spinning off four consecutive multi-platinum hits: “4 AM” featuring Travis Scott; “It’s A Vibe” featuring Ty Dolla $ign, Trey Songz and Jhene Aiko; “Big Amount” featuring Drake, and “Good Drank” featuring Quavo and Gucci Mane.

Women In Media

Women’s Media Center Releases 2019 Status of Women in U.S. Media Report:

Men dominate news, entertainment and digital media

94 studies — including new research from WMC — detail the shape and scope of women’s participation in media

Click here to read the full report.

The Women’s Media Center (WMC) today released its 2019 report on the status of women in U.S. media, which shows that despite some gains, men still dominate in every part of news, entertainment and digital media.

“The Status of Women in the U.S. Media 2019” is comprised of 94 studies, including original research by WMC and aggregated research from academia, industry and professional groups, labor unions, media watchdogs, newsrooms and other sources.

Julie Burton, president of the Women’s Media Center, said the data in the report paints a stark picture. “The media is in a state of great disruption, but despite all of the change, one thing remains the same: the role of women is significantly smaller than that of men in every part of news, entertainment and digital media. It is clear that a cultural, systemic shift is necessary if all parts of the U.S media are to achieve gender and racial parity and move toward a world where stories fully represent the voices and perspectives of diverse women,” she said. “Research spotlighted in this report shows that diversity boosts corporate profits. When boardrooms, newsrooms, studios and tech companies fully reflect the faces, genders and myriad talents of our society, we’re all exceedingly better served.”

The report includes several original WMC studies, including “Divided 2019: The Media Gender Gap,” an assessment of where women stand as media writers, reporters, correspondents and anchors in the major news media platforms, including the prime-time broadcast news programs, print publications, wire services and online news sites. Across all media platforms, men receive 63 percent of bylines and credits; women receive only 37 percent.

“Women have been fighting for greater parity and equality in the news media for decades,” said Maya Harris, co-chair, Women’s Media Center. “This report shows that more work needs to be done to level the playing field. Women and our male allies will not rest until we see wholesale change.”

“When we watch the evening news, we’re not seeing an America that truly reflects all voices,” said Pat Mitchell, co-chair, Women’s Media Center. “Too often, the voices we hear and the images we see are men’s. Men largely are reporting and telling the story even though women represent more than half the U.S. population.”

The report is inclusive and also features WMC’s “The Status of Women of Color in the U.S. News Media 2018,” which offers a rare look at where women journalists of color are — and aren’t — in legacy print, radio, TV, and digital news.

“Missing women of color in the newsrooms of this country is an injustice in itself, and an injustice to every American reader and viewer who is deprived of great stories and a full range of facts,” said Gloria Steinem, WMC co-founder. “Inclusiveness in the newsroom means inclusiveness in the news. Racism and sexism put blinders on everyone.”

In an expanded section on tech, social media, gaming and engineering, “Status 2019” also spotlights the growing threat online to women in media and the perils of failing to protect free and safe speech.

“As part of their day-to-day work, women journalists often face a torrent of harassment, denigration, and threats. The point of this hostility is to silence women, most frequently women of color,” said Soraya Chemaly, director of WMC’s Speech Project. “The onus continues to fall on women’s shoulders as individuals.  Media companies have to develop institutional responses to these threats if they are serious about building inclusive organizations.”

Here are the Status report highlights in traditional print and online-only, radio and television, news consumption, entertainment media and technology, social media, gaming and engineering:

In news media: print and online-only:

  • The American Society of News Editors’ latest tally found that women comprised 41.7 percent and people of color 22.6 percent of the overall workforce in those responding newsrooms.
  • Sports desks at 75 of the nation’s newspapers and online news sites earned a “B+” for racial diversity, a “D+” for gender and racial diversity, combined, and a sixth consecutive “F” for lack of gender equity. (Associated Press Sports Editors)
  • Editors of the nation’s 135 most widely distributed newspapers are overwhelmingly male and White. (Columbia Journalism Review)
  • 69 percent of news wire bylines (AP and Reuters) are snagged by men, 31 percent by women; 63 percent of TV prime-time news broadcasts feature male anchors and correspondents; 37 percent feature women; 60 percent of online news is written by men, 40 percent by women; 59 percent of print news is written by men, 41 percent by women. (Women’s Media Center)

  • Women owned 7.4 percent of the nation’s commercial TV stations. (Federal Communications Commission)

In entertainment media: film, TV & online streaming:

  • Over 12 years, through 2018, men accounted for 93.4 percent, or, 654, of the 704 individual directors of the highest-grossing films. Women accounted for 6.6 percent, or, 46 of those 704. (University of Southern California’s Annenberg Inclusion Initiative)
  • The number of women working on-screen in television and online streaming entertainment shows declined 2 percentage points from 2016-17 to 2017-18, when 40 percent of all speaking characters were female and 60 percent were men. (San Diego State University’s Center for the Study of Women in Television & Film)
  • The share of women among nominees in the Oscars’ 19 non-acting categories rose slightly from 23 percent to 25 percent from 2018 to 2019, but women were shut out of nominations for cinematography, directing, editing, original score and visual effects. (Women’s Media Center)
  • The proportion of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and/or queer regular (LGBTQ) characters cast during the 2018-19 broadcast TV season — 8.8 percent of 857 regular characters — was the highest tallied in 14 years. (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation)

In tech, social media, gaming, engineering:

  • 45 percent of U.S. gamers were female, reflecting continued, year-over-year increases in female gamers. (Entertainment Software Association)
  • Over a decade, there was no significant rise in the number of female tech workers and Black tech workers. (U.S. Government Accountability Office)
  • 53 percent of women and 16 percent of men said they had been harassed at work. (Women Who Tech)

New Ruf Models at Geneva Auto Show

RUF TO UNVEIL FIRST PRODUCTION CTR ANNIVERSARY AND ALL-NEW RUF GT AT THE 89TH GENEVA AUTO SHOW

RUF Automobile will unveil the first production example of the RUF CTR Anniversary as well as the RUF GT next month in Geneva, Switzerland, kicking off the manufacturer’s 80th anniversary.

RUF Automobile GmbH, manufacturer and creator of bespoke sports cars that combine performance and suitability for everyday use, will unveil two cars at the 89th Geneva Auto Show on March 5 in Hall 5 at Stand 5030 of the Palexpo in Geneva, Switzerland. The first production example of the RUF CTR Anniversary, known in prototype form as the RUF CTR 2017, will be unveiled alongside the all-new RUF GT. The pair will act as anchors in the RUF booth alongside several other RUF models from throughout the companies 80-year history, including the eRuf which was presented at the Geneva motor show in 2009.

The first production example of the RUF CTR Anniversary will be delivered to its owner during the Geneva Auto Show. The model was first announced at the 2017 Geneva Auto Show on the 30th anniversary of the original CTR and produces 710 PS (700 BHP) from its twin-turbo 3.6L, flat-six engine. Weighing in at just 1,200 kilograms (2,640 pounds), the 2019 RUF CTR Anniversary has a top speed of 360 km/h (223 mph).

The all-new RUF GT is a Porsche 991-based model acting as an extension of the previous generation of the Porsche 911. The RUF GT features a 3.0 liter flat-six engine producing 522 PS (515 BHP), 645 Nm (476 ft-lbs) of torque and has a total weight of 1,450 kilograms (3,197 pounds). The launch-control equipped 7-speed double clutch gearbox helps the car accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.4 seconds. The duck tail generates high downforce and keeps the RUF GT stable at its top speed of 320 kph (199 mph).

“Each year we hope to push the technological envelope further, creating a more enjoyable, more usable and better performing sports car,” said Estonia Ruf, marketing director of RUF Automobile GmbH. “The two cars being unveiled in Geneva are the pinnacle of their respective niche in the car world. They are the best options when it comes to pure driving pleasure. That was the goal from the start.”

This year marks the 80th anniversary for RUF Automobile, originally founded by Alois Ruf Sr. in 1939. The company will be celebrating its anniversary throughout 2019 both in Pfaffenhausen and at events around the globe. Use the hashtag #80YearsOfRUF to join in celebrating on social media.

ABOUT RUF AUTOMOBILE GMBH

In 1939, Alois Ruf Sr. first formed his company, AUTO RUF, as a general service garage. The company grew and in 1949 he added a gas station to the company complex. By 1955, Ruf Sr. recognized a need in Germany for a full-size tourist bus and challenged himself to build his own to run this as a separate business. In 1963, the company began specializing in Porsche vehicles, a direction that Alois Ruf Jr.  vowed to continue when he assumed directorship of the company in 1974. In the following year, the first RUF-enhanced Porsche model made its debut. Now it is still family run by Alois and Estonia Ruf.
