Riles’s New Single ‘Marijuana’

After skyrocketing to popularity in France where he composed mixed and mastered 1 song per week for a year with his concept Rilèsundayz (+250m views /+220M streams), Rilès is back with a new single “Marijuana”, first track from his debut album and a stunning video featuring Snoop Dogg!

WATCH THE VIDEO HERE!

With “Marijuana”, Rilès is showing us a new side of himself, more soulful and organic. It’s the first joint venture between 3 of the biggest international labels (Republic/Polydor UK/Capitol FR) in many years. Rilès is the artist to follow in 2019. Debut album to be out before the summer.

‘MARIJUANA’ talks about my relationship with cannabis and its counter-productive effects that goes against my habits/mentality. The chorus “Baby, you’ve been on my mind” introduces marijuana in an attractive way, which aims to trick the listener who might think I’m talking about a woman at the very beginning of the song. However, the further you go through the song, the more you’ll notice that I’m talking about the drug and its similarities with woman/sex/lust which are also a drug in a certain way. The video starts with a random work night at my desk when suddenly I’m struck by the need of marijuana. The video depicts the tribulations I go through to try to resist the drug before succumbing to it and ending up laying down in my bed. ‘ –  Rilès

Jesse Palter-The Paper Trail

Detroit born, LA based, prolific singer/songwriter Jesse Palter releases debut EP The Paper Trail October 22 on Artistry Music, featuring five tracks of aggressive, piano-pounding pop/rock in the vein of Carole King, Sarah McLachlan and Sara Bareilles. The first single going to radio is “Heavy Is The Crown,” an edgy, incisive pop-rocker examining narcisscism and victim-hood at is best.  Check it out here.

Comments Palter: “All of these songs are paving the way towards establishing myself as an artist and songwriter. My approach throughout this project was to find a way to capture a full snapshot of my life and what I’ve been going through. This is the beginning of what I hope will be a long, fulfilling journey.”

Palter, who launched her career in Detroit and Chicago before moving to Los Angeles to focus on her development as a pop artist, was supported in her sound and overall vision by producer Doug Petty, a veteran keyboardist who has worked with Celine Dion, Britney Spears, Nick Lachey and Lisa Loeb, among others. Petty kept the integrity of Palter’s songs from demo stage through the various layers and textures brought forth to compliment her unique artistry. A high caliber of studio musicians played on the project including bassists Tim Lefebvre and Alex Al and drummers Matt Chamberlain and Aaron Sterling.

With The Paper Trail EP, Palter has committed herself to the discipline of perfecting the craft of songwriting. She focused on strengthening her creative muscles to discover what melodies, lyrics and chord changes work best, allowing herself to be vulnerable, brave and brutally honest at the same time. The songs are autobiographical, representing her life and what’s she’s been through.

Palter launched her jazz career as a teenager, performing oboe and trumpet in the school jazz band. She connected with singer/songwriter Andrew Gold (“Thank You For Being A Friend”), who brought her to Nashville to work on original material and record a demo, which generated interest with several major labels. At 15, she began working with the Grammy-winning production team the Bass Brothers (Eminem). Her skill for improvisational singing and a developing passion for legendary jazz vocalists, led to her shift towards jazz. She studied at the University Of Michigan as a jazz and contemplative studies major.

Her eclectic musical upbringing includes exposure to a wide array of music that inspired her to deeply respect the art of great songs and songwriters, from Carole King and Joni Mitchell, to Prince, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson and The Beatles. Music and singing was always in her blood. Her grandmother, Doris Raynor, was once an opera prodigy in NY.

In early 2019, Artistry Music will follow up The Paper Trail EP with the single “Sever The Ties” and a full-length debut album.

CHRIS STYLEZ “FALL FOR ME”

In an era where most indie artists are secretly funded by major labels, and music gets carefully selected by gatekeepers based on the least resistance, people are starving for a change. Rising artist Chris Stylez took a non-traditional path to success forcing people in the conventional music system to question how he pulled it off.

Canada-born, New York-based R&B artist Chris Stylez became something of a viral sensation summer of 2016 after his song “Who Is” amassed over 50 million loops on Vine and hit Spotify Viral Charts in more than 16 countries. However, it’s difficult to pin down Stylez as a child of internet culture. With a polished tone reminiscent of a Voodoo-era D’Angelo, and the legendary soul sensation Marvin Gaye, it’s clear that the music comes from an authentic place.

Blazing his path from Toronto artist to downtown New York fixture was the product of habitual traveling in search of inspiration. After spending time creating and collaborating in Atlanta and Los Angeles, in addition to touring his way through Europe’s underground music scene, Chris finally landed in NY. Upon meeting Chris in person, Ozy.com interviewer Jeff Vasishta wrote “he seems to know everybody.”

Stylez decided to self-fund his releases leading to an organic groundswell of interest. After sending his dancehall influenced single “Relapse” directly to club and mixshow DJs, the record began to chart in multiple cities on Shazam. That led to radio spins in US, Canada, and Australia with no label or radio promoter on board (a practically impossible feat).

“It’s soulful, and rebellious—this is me,” says the artist about his newest project ‘In Late, Out Very Early’. The sensuous, memorable songs explore Chris’ roots in Reggae, R&B, and Soul, yet are guided to new landscapes through deft hands in contemporary production by ANYRIOT. The tracks are in no way shy of their overt sexuality, yet are presented in such luscious and enticing restraint that the listener is left wanting more.

He collaborates regularly with artists and producers throughout the United States and Europe, while touring internationally, most recently an exclusive SoHo House Tour, performing live in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Toronto, and Berlin.
