The youngest son of Reggae legend Bob Marley, Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley garnered his own place in music history when he became the first ever Reggae artist to win a GRAMMY outside of the “Reggae” category, taking home an award for “Best Urban/Alternative” performance for his title single,” Welcome To Jamrock”. Today, Damian “Jr Gong” Marley premiered the music video for his impassioned single “Living It Up” off his GRAMMY Award-winning fourth studio album, Stony Hill, exclusively on global music and entertainment platform, TIDAL.

 

In the visual, Marley takes his son back to his hometown in Jamaica to share the culture of where his father Bob Marley grew up and where reggae music was born, as well as the parallel between his upbringing and where he is now.

 

The video was directed by Gil Green, and filmed in Trenchtown, Stony Hill and Port Antonio, Jamaica.

 

“If I have to pick a single track that represents the theme of the album overall, I would say it is probably Living It Up, it represents my history. It comes down to where my father is coming from and where my mother is coming from, it’s not likely that people from these two worlds meet up like that on a regular basis and have children. That whole journey, I think is an inspiring story in itself” says Marley about the track.
