REPUBLIC RECORDS ARTISTS PERFORMING AT ROLLING LOUD NY

On Baby Goth’s debut single “Swimming,” she details the power of manifestation. It’s a subject she’s particularly passionate about, as the Trippie Redd and Lil Xan assisted cut is an idyllic way to translate that to her fan base since she’s proof of that power. On her debut EP Baby Goth she holds a greater mission of making music to change lives. Baby Goth took her talents to Instagram, and over the course of a few years developed a sizable following thanks to her aesthetic and infectious series of covers, reaching the radar of the renowned Hitway Recordings in Los Angeles. Her EP BabyGoth introduces the world to a tangible artist whose music comes with a message with a mix of feelgood, emotional and manifestation songs. In addition to mental health awareness, Baby hopes to discuss subjects like medicinal marijuana, BDSM, and sexuality in her music. While her image is striking and her sound is charismatic, Baby Goth is an artist for the people. Get ready for the most relatable star on the rise.

SATURDAY, 2:30 PM

It makes perfect sense Kemba calls The Bronx—the birthplace of hip-hop—home. He literally carries the genre with him everywhere. Making a name for himself as a fan favorite under the name of YC The Cynic, he dropped a series of lauded projects and songs from 2010 through 2013. Adopting the moniker Kemba, he ignited his rise with the album Negus. In addition to a highly cited interview on Real Late W/Peter Rosenberg, he joined Kendrick Lamar on stage during an American Express-sponsored concert live-streamed online. He kept his head down and continued writing just as any true hip-hop hero would.

As part of his recent inclusion on the XXL “Freshman Cover,” the outlet proclaimed him “one of the hottest new acts in the game” and claimed “the 22-year-old rapper has drawn comparisons to legends like E-40 and Juvenile due to the off-kilter flow that finds him rapping against the current of whatever beat he’s on.” Echoing this sentiment, Complex wrote, “his cadence—skittering and almost comical—doesn’t fit neatly into the current (or past) landscape of hip-hop. But that’s exactly what makes him so interesting.”

KASH DOLL
SUNDAY, 4:15 PM, SAUCE STAGE

Detroit rapper Kash Doll is on a serious roll. Her new album Stacked came out on October 4 and features songs with Lil Wayne, Big Sean, Trey Songz, Teyana Taylor, Summer Walker and more. This summer, she received a BET Award nomination for “Best Female Hip-Hop Artist” and earlier this year she toured the country with Meek Mill.

Detroit native Kash Doll has impacted the music industry with a commanding force, dropping street-earned truths with her throwback wordplay and powerful bars. The one-two combination of spirit and sass announced her as fiery female force in 2019 after quietly amassing 30 million-plus on-demand streams, garnering the BMI Social Star Award and “Issa Wave Award” at the BET Social Awards, and inking a deal with Republic Records. An unbelievable story brought her to this point. Losing her dad on just her first birthday, she always held down multiple jobs to support her mom and siblings. And at 18, she started investing in herself eventually opening two beauty bars and funding her own music career. She made waves on the 2014 independent debut mixtape, Keisha Vs. Kash Doll. Following 2016’s Trapped In The Dollhouse, she developed a presence as a touring force and earned coveted co-signs from Drake, Big Sean, Rick Ross, Remy Ma, and many more. The 2018 The Vault mixtape captured #1 on multiple mixtape sites as her debut single for Republic Records “Ice Me Out” and its 2 Chainz-assisted official remix clocked 18 million-plus total streams. Last year, Kash Doll also released a project solely for her fans titled Brat Mail to thank them for all their continued support. The project garnered over 23 million global streams and features the break out single “Check.” Shortly before Brat Mail, Kash released one of her biggest singles to date, “For Everybody,” which racked up over 10 million YouTube/VEVO views independently. Outside of music, this boss runs Kash Doll Enterprises and does charity work around her hometown. Her city bestowed the “Spirit of Detroit” Award upon her.

Today, Republic & Decca Records release the brand-new single “Get Happy”, featuring original vocals by Renée Zellweger and Sam Smith, from the forthcoming JUDY The Original Soundtrack out September 27. Listen HERE.

Says Sam Smith, “When I was 17 years old, I did a project on Judy Garland for my Film Studies A-Level. I was immediately immersed into the magic of Judy and her incredibly brave and triumphant story. She has remained as one of the icons of my life. She was one of the bravest humans out there and her vulnerability and honesty in her art still gives me goose bumps like it did the first time.

It was truly an honour to sing with Renée. Nobody could have played Judy as well as Renée, and it is a career highlight for me to be singing with her, and in some small way, with Judy. I hope everyone loves the film as much as I did.”

The track coincides with the release of the highly-anticipated feature film in which Zellweger stars as Judy Garland, set for U.S. release on September 27.

JUDY the album features Zellweger’s breath-taking recordings of Judy Garland’s award-winning and most popular numbers, which have become some of the most iconic songs in film and theatre history, including “For Once in My Life”, “Come Rain or Come Shine” and “Over the Rainbow”, all perfectly capturing the moving intensity of Garland’s electrifying performances.

Set for global release on September 27, JUDY the album marks 50 years since Judy Garland’s premature death in 1969, and 80 years since she shot to teenage stardom in The Wizard of Oz in 1939.

JUDY is a Pathé, BBC Films and Ingenious Media Presentation of a Calamity Films Production and is set for a U.S. nationwide theatrical release on September 27.

Of the video, Shaylen says, “The video for ‘Own Way’ is pretty straight forward. We all struggle with saying no. Saying no to a toxic ex, saying no to substances, saying no to media addiction etc. I always find myself doing well and then I get in my own way. The struggle is real folks.”

Taylor Swift’s Lover

Taylor Swift’s top selling album of the year, Lover [Republic Records], officially crosses 1 million in U.S. consumption in under two weeks and sold more albums in 48 hours than any album this year.

Cementing Lover’s status as a worldwide critical phenomenon, Taylor captures #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Songwriters Chart for the third consecutive week, anchored by “Lover,” “You Need To Calm Down” and “ME!” featuring Brendon Urie of Panic! At The Disco. Additionally, she remains the #1 most-streamed female artist globally on Spotify this week.

On Monday, she delivered a powerhouse performance for the Lenovo Presents: The City of Lover Concert at The L’Olympia Theater in Paris, France. For the first time ever, she performed new music from Lover live in front of fans hailing from over 37 countries.

Check out video HERE and what critics had to say about it below.
“She shows that she is a songwriter in the lineage of Emmylou Harris, Judy Collins or Joan Baez.” – Paris Match

“An icon of America, the number one pop star” – Le Parisien

“Proves to us that she is a true musician and an excellent singer and that her songs go the extra mile without artifice.” – Le Parisien
“Both a thank you to her fanbase and a celebration of how far Swift has come since releasing her debut album over a decade ago, The City of Lover concert was a triumph.” – NME (5 Star Review)

“The real success of the concert, however, came from Swift’s faith in her music. There was no big light show, no pyrotechnics, just a basic band, four backing singers and Swift herself, bringing to life songs that captured in a straightforward way everyday aspects of life and love.” – The Times (5 Star Review)

“Taylor made a triumphant return to the stage…” – The Sun

“Her performance confirmed her status as the consummate modern pop superstar” – The Sun

“Taylor Swift woos a petit Parisian crowd” – The Face

“For a while, Swift could be back in Nashville’s Bluebird Café as she sits on a stool and strums her way beatifically through Death By A Thousand Cuts, Cornelia Street and The Man, attacking her guitar on the latter as if it were the patriachy itself. She then switches to piano (and, by the way, only Swift’s audience could be sent into raptures by someone wheeling on a baby grand) for a heart-wrenching, ebb-and-flow segue between All Too Well, Red and the new album’s Daylight, songcraft and showmanship in perfect harmony.”  – Music Week

“The emotional intelligence and precision in her lyrics, and adept ability to move between instruments, are Swift’s greatest strengths. Still, her voice is lovely, particularly on the tender “Lover”.” – The i

“This intimate night proved superstars still conjure unexpected magic and mystery of their own.”– The i

“Professionalism of the entertainer shines with her assets – flawless precision, a relentless stream of instant melodies celebrated by fans singing in unison, a luminous bracelet at the wrist – interspersed with pure emotions and choreographic stillness…” –  Le Monde

“Only on the guitar and then on the piano, Taylor Swift shows (to those who still doubted it), that she is above all a musician, author and composer… and its magical.” – Tele Loisirs

“A simple and emotional concert, which reveals a new and even more fascinating artist” – Rolling Stone Italy

She accelerated the sales of Lover to historic heights by not only delivering the highest-selling album of 2019, but also achieving “the biggest first-week total for any album since her own Reputation in 2017,” according to Billboard. Accumulating number ones in over 100 countries, the record is also China’s most consumed full-length international album of 2019, besting the previous record holder by double. Total global streams are over 2.5 billion to date.

Lover is the ten-time GRAMMY® Award-winning, record-breaking superstar’s seventh album. Taylor‘s juggernaut arrives as a fan favorite and currently ranks as her highest rated critically acclaimed album on Metacritic.

Yung Gravy “Tampa Bay Bustdown”

Buzzing Minnesota-born rapper Yung Gravy releases his new track “Tampa Bay Bustdown” feat. Chief Keef & Y2K today.

Listen to “Tampa Bay Bustdown” feat. Chief Keef & Y2K: HERE

“We made ‘Tampa Bay Bust Down’ like 7 months ago and I hit up Lil Tracy for his blessing since he had just dropped his own country-style rap song,” Gravy says on the track. “Then we heard ‘Old Town Road’ and knew people would instantly think we copied it. But, we realized that ‘Tampa Bay Bustdown’ bangs way too hard to not drop, so we gotta feed the people.”

On “Tampa Bay Bustdown,” Gravy and Sosa sing and flow over a unique beat produced by Y2K— a simple Southern-style banjo reminiscent of “Deliverance” is met with a heinously hard-hitting 808 pattern. Both rappers deliver some unforgettable bars and melodies that blend together perfectly with the beat.

The track follows the release of his critically acclaimed debut album Sensational, which includes tracks like “Alley Oop,” the basketball anthem featuring Lil Baby and “Gravy Train,” the 808-heavy trap twist on Maxine Nightingale’s “Right Back Where We Started From.” Sensational followed the viral success of his Snow Cougar EP, which featured “Mr. Clean” and “1 Thot 2 Thot Red Thot Blue Thot,” both certified gold by the RIAA.

Yung Gravy has headlined 3 sold out tours in North America and sold out tours in Europe and Australia/NZ as well. This fall, Gravy is headlining his 40-date tour of the US, Canada and Europe: “Experience The Sensation, Part 2.” Tickets are available here.
