Jeremy Zucker and Chelsea Cutler “You Were Good To Me”

Today, singers, songwriters and producers Jeremy Zucker and Chelsea Cutler team up to release their new single, “you were good to me,” out now via Republic Records. The song also arrives with the video—watch it HERE!

LISTEN TO “you were good to me” HERE!

Of “you were good to me,” Chelsea says, “Jeremy and I stayed in a cabin in Connecticut last year where we wrote our song ‘better off.’ That trip inspired some of our best writing, so we decided to go back a year later. ‘you were good to me’ is the first song we wrote up there and showcases, to me at least, how well we bring out the most honest artistry in each other.”

Jeremy chimes in, saying, “The cabin was basically a recording studio built in an old carriage house. The walls were lined with vintage guitars, keyboards, drums, and loads of random items that we ended up putting in our song. In between writing sessions, we would hike, watch movies, or just talk about life. The music really represents how we felt at that cabin: inspired, wholesome, and introspective.”

Recently finishing his sold out European and UK
anything, anywhere Tour and her sold out North American Sleeping With Roses II Tour, fans can expect more new music from Jeremy and Chelsea this year.

When
Jeremy Zucker and Chelsea Cutler joined forces for “you were good to me,” it was much more than two rising stars combining their natural-born talents; it was two friends sharing their personal conversations (set to music) with the rest of the world. Over the past few years, Zucker has galvanized a dedicated fan base with his early independently-released EPs and continued with his breakout singles “talk is overrated” ft. blackbear in 2017 and “all the kids are depressed” in 2018. He’s continued his upward mobility by outdoing himself with “comethru,” which has reached a staggering 80 million Spotify streams and 35 million video views. Meanwhile, Cutler has become a force, starting with a series of covers on Soundcloud that gave way to her own self-written and self-produced work, like 2017’s “Your Shirt,” which cracked the Spotify charts with over 62 million streams, and her two-part Sleeping With Roses mixtape series in 2018. Both artists have been paving the way in their respective lanes; however, their union was serendipitous, happening in 2016 at a college neither of them attended: The University of Connecticut. Fast forward three years and two signings with Republic Records, there was no better time to make music together. Returning to a cabin in Connecticut where they first collaborated on their duet single “better off,” Zucker and Cutler wrote and recorded “you were good to me,” a reflective piece on lost love.

Andy Black

Today sees the release of THE GHOST OF OHIO (Lava/Republic), the much-anticipated new album from singer-songwriter Andy Black – click HERE to listen. Upon release, the album immediately debuted at No. 1 on the iTunes Rock Album Chart.

Black’s been giving fans glimpses of the album over the course of the past few weeks by releasing tracks such as “The Promise,” lead single “Westwood Road” (which has amassed over 1.7 million YouTube views) and title track “The Ghost Of Ohio.”

The Ghost Of Ohio sees Black re-teaming with Grammy nominated producer John Feldmann (Blink-182, Panic! at the Disco), who helmed 2016’s acclaimed debut The Shadow Side.

The album marries melancholy themes with upbeat rock and pop, mining the underreported haunted history of Black’s hometown to tell a story in allegory and grandeur that explores his childhood anxieties and obsessions. “I’ve always liked the idea of building worlds, making a character for myself, in very heightened and stylized dimensions I could live in,” he says. “It’s about expressing myself creatively, while making something that didn’t exist before.”

The unabashed anthem-making of Bruce Springsteen, The Killers, and U2 collide with darker undertones alongside an all-new haunted folklore, mixing boyhood dreams with otherworldly wonder. Quite literally, The Ghost of Ohio is the tale of someone who died young, whose spirit inhabits an area for a hundred years, looking for ways to connect, feeling forgotten, fighting an overwhelming disassociation. But it’s also less straightforward story and more “songs inspired by” the specifics.

Black, who’s always had a reverence for the magical convergence of sight and sound, created the diverse album to also serve as a soundtrack for its graphic novel counterpart, marrying melancholy themes with upbeat rock and pop to tell the tale of someone who died young and whose spirit inhabits an area for a hundred years looking for ways to connect. The album’s artwork was painted by Eliran Kantor (Iced Earth, Testament).

Black discussed the album during a recent interview with NME, which can be viewed HERE.

He’s performing select songs from the album on his current Ghost of North America Tour, a headlining run that kicked off last week in Sacramento, CA (see itinerary below). The fact that Black can perform at all is a miracle, as he had an emergency appendectomy less than a week before the tour kicked off.

Don’t miss your chance to experience Andy Black’s The Ghost of North America Tour.

INTRODUCING NEW ZEALAND’S BREAKOUT INDIE POP ARTIST BENE

NEW SINGLE “SOAKED” AVAILABLE NOW

LISTEN HERE (Post & Share)

Hailing from the suburbs of Auckland, 19-year-old Bene has emerged as New Zealand’s up and coming indie pop artist of 2019 with a Gold-Certified chart topping hit that’s already garnered millions of streams and support from Zane Lowe, Lily Allen and more. Newly signed to Republic Records, Bene is re-releasing her breakout single “Soaked” today, as she sets her sights on the U.S.

LISTEN TO “SOAKED” HERE!

After posting GarageBand demos on SoundCloud when she was just a senior in high school, Bene caught the ear of producer, Josh Fountain, and began writing and recording at his Golden Age Studio. “Soaked” quickly climbed Spotify’s Viral Charts, streaming over 14 million times, charting on Australia’s Triple J radio Hottest 100 of 2018 and holding the number one spot on New Zealand’s Shazam Top 100 for two months, not to mention achieving Gold Certification in New Zealand and Australia. With endorsements like Zane Lowe and Apple’s Beats1 radio, Bene went from playing her first small club gig to her first arena show—opening for longtime role model Lily Allen—in a matter of months. Of “Soaked,” Bene says, “To see my song catch on with so many people already has been amazing. And now signing with Republic to bring my music out into the world is just bloody crazy.” “Soaked” sets the stage for further music to be released from Bene this spring.

ABOUT BENE Vi·sion·ar·y – as defined by Google – is a (noun) person with original ideas who plans the future with imagination or wisdom. With both traits in abundance well beyond her 19 years, New Zealand’s Bene redefines the word. Carving out a space between indie pop and R&B, she deconstructs modern “pop music” to create a sonic landscape all her own. Growing up in suburban Auckland, New Zealand among a community of creatives, Bene was immersed in the arts from a young age, and after releasing a series of self-released GarageBand covers on SoundCloud, Bene was soon writing and recording at Golden Age Studio with producer Josh Fountain in her senior year of high school. Just two weeks after enrolling in university, Bene dropped out with a now unstoppable and feverish conviction to pursue music full-time. After releasing her breakout single “Soaked” in 2018, what she refers to as her ‘Benevision’— or “the idea that all of my music, visuals and content contribute to a greater artwork.”—immediately hit home.

Evan Konrads “The Long Way Out” Video

EVAN KONRAD SHARES OFFICIAL VIDEO FOR “THE LONG WAY OUT” ANNOUNCES SPRING TOUR & FESTIVALS

Check out video for “The Long Way Out” here

Singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Evan Konrad releases the official video for “The Long Way Out” today.

Check out the video HERE and get the song HERE via LAVA/Republic Records.

An unpredictable anthem teetering between manic energy and cathartic falsetto, the track invites listeners into the artist’s handcrafted sonic world. Produced and performed by Konrad, “The Long Way Out” hinges on an airy beat, haunting vocals, and a seesawing chant—“We take the long way out.”

On the video Konrad said: Originally the treatment for “The Long Way Out Video” was about a visual metaphor for a vanity filled man fighting to escape the chaos of his own mind. Having spent time shooting the video, I began to realize that it was very much a metaphor to my past as an artist, like a prologue to my future. The look, the way I’m dressed, even the style and lyrics of the song all seem to dwell in both an old and new world for me. It wasn’t something I was consciously aware of during the process of shooting. It’s quite a liberating experience to have that documented and showcased in this music video, especially being that It’s my introduction to the world.” On the track Konrad previously said: “The Long Way Out is a journey through the act of letting go, and how romanticized it can be throughout the grieving process. Unable to accept the changes within ourselves, or the changes in another person, as we reach for a connection that no longer exists. I wrote this song to acknowledge and work through this within myself. I want this song to be a beacon of light for anyone who is looking for the same liberation I sought after.” This is just the beginning for Konrad as he just announced new tour dates with Black Pistol Fire and performances at Epicenter Music Festival and Sonic Temple Art + Music Festival. See full tour dates below

Born and raised in Abbotsford, BC Canada, Konrad devoted his entire life to crafting music. Growing up in a house where creativity would be encouraged at every turn, he spent countless hours writing songs and producing. Following stints in the studio and on the road with other artists, he locked himself away in the studio at 26 and commenced work on what would become his forthcoming debut. With nothing more than a demo tape, he caught the attention of LAVA founder Jason Flom who signed him on the spot upon listening to his music, because of the downright mind-blowing songcraft. The best way to describe the music would be Thom Yorke translating Christopher Nolan’s Memento into songs, and even that only scratches the surface.
