KYGO & WHITNEY HOUSTON RELEASE “HIGHER LOVE”

Following a string of current successes, global superstar, producer and DJ, Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll – a.k.a. Kygo releases new single “Higher Love” with Whitney Houston, the most awarded female artist of all time, via RCA Records.  The single marks the first new Whitney Houston music released in a decade, since 2009’s “I Look To You.” Both Kygo and Pat Houston spoke to Rolling Stone to explain the collaboration HERE.

Pat Houston said of the single, “The Estate of Whitney E. Houston and our new partner Primary Wave are delighted with the collaboration between KYGO and WHITNEY. “Higher Love” is a cover of the 1986 Steve Winwood classic, which celebrated its 33rd anniversary on June 20th. The Whitney Houston estate presented Kygo with the archival recording of Whitney’s version, which was previously released as a Japan-only bonus track on her I’m Your Baby Tonight physical album in 1990. Upon hearing the Whitney track, Kygo raced into the studio, thrilled to be given the opportunity to make music with one of the greatest female vocalists of all time.

“Higher Love” was written by Steve Winwood, Will Jennings and produced by Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll and Narada Michael Walden. Kygo is set to perform this song for the first time this Sunday, June 30th, at PrideFestival Utopia in New York City.

Kygo Unveils First New Song of 2019

After teasing its impending arrival on social media throughout the past week, global superstar, producer and DJ Kyrre Gorvell-Dahll, a.k.a Kygo, unveiled a new song entitled “Think About You”  via Sony Music Sweden/Ultra Records/RCA Records! The track features Valerie Broussard who is newly signed to Kygo’s Palm Tree Records/ RCA Records. This marks his first release of 2019 and precedes more music to come very soon.

After four hugely successful years in the UK, Vevo announced it will bring its flagship Halloween event to the US in 2017, featuring an incredible line up of this year’s most talked about emerging artists. For the first time, the event will happen simultaneously at the Craneway Pavillion in the Bay Area, San Francisco and Victoria Warehouse in Manchester on Saturday, October 28th. Presented by Honda Stage, the US show will host full live sets from 2017 Vevo LIFT artists Khalid, Julia Michaels, Aminé and Jessie Reyez for 4,000 music fans. A fifth artist will be announced before the show in October.

 

In addition to a night jam packed with new music, Vevo Halloween guests can expect to take a journey into the Other World, a parallel universe where nothing is quite what it seems, a place where reality and nightmares collide.There are sounds coming from the darkness. There are objects moving in the shadows. Something is watching and following your every step.
