Athens joins Air Italy network thanks to new agreement with Aegean Airlines

Air Italy US passengers can reach Athens via seamless connection in Malpensa. Athens easily reachable via Milan for Air Italy customers from central and southern Italy

Starting from today, Air Italy has added Athens as a new destination to its network, thanks to the signing of a new Special Prorate Agreement with Aegean Airlines.

Air Italy passengers travelling from our four US destinations – Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami and New York – and from Toronto can now easily reach the Greek capital via Air Italy’s Milan Malpensa hub, continuing with flights directly to Athens on Aegean Airlines.

In addition, all Air Italy customers departing from the main airports of central and southern Italy, such as Rome, Naples, Palermo, Catania, Lamezia Terme, Cagliari and Olbia will now have the opportunity to fly Athens via Malpensa.

Featuring an entirely new tableware, in-flight dining menus, cutlery and chinaware that have all been specially crafted to meet travellers’ expectations, Air Italy’s Business Class passengers will also enjoy an even more elevated experience thanks to the introduction of a dining-on-demand service.

Chef Raffaele Ronca

Introducing Winner of The Food Network’s “Chopped,” Chef Raffaele Ronca, Naples-born chef  who left his beloved hometown at the age of 19 and headed for NYC to be more accepted as a gay man. Raff, who initially wanted to be an actor, quickly found success in his “day gig,” working behind the bar and, ultimately, in the kitchen of NYC’s most popular restaurants. His passion for cooking and entertaining eventually eclipsed his desire to pursue acting and led to a lifelong career. His time on the popular Food Network show allowed him to revisit his love of acting, and brought his career to a whole new level. Shortly after his win, he opened Rafele NYC’s West Village, the epicenter of the gay rights movement. The restaurant, Rafele, offered guests an authentic Italian experience and was an immediate success. Just last year, he opened a second location in Rye, New York.

Chef Ronca wholeheartedly believes in giving back to the community and supporting LGBTQ youth. He often donates his time and gifts by appearing at and cooking for various LGBTQ charities, including the Rainbow Railroad, an organization dedicated to helping lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals escape violence and persecution in their home countries.

Air Italy Signs Agreement with Bulgaria Air

The code share agreement will offer increased connectivity between the main Bulgarian cities and eight major destinations in Italy

Thanks to an interline commercial agreement, Bulgaria Air’s passengers will benefit from single tickets for traveling between Bulgaria and Air Italy’s US, Canada and Africa destinations

Air Italy and Bulgaria Air have entered into a code share partnership to offer customers enhanced connectivity between Bulgaria and eight major destinations in Italy, with effect from today.

Under the agreement, Air Italy’s “IG” code will be placed on Bulgaria Air flights between Milan Malpensa and Sofia, Varna and Burgas, which are all on sale from today with the first flights available from March 31st. At the same time, starting with the new summer IATA season, Bulgaria Air will put its “FB” code on Air Italy flights between Milan Malpensa and Rome Fiumicino, Naples, Olbia and Cagliari (Sardinia), Palermo and Catania (Sicily), and Lamezia Terme (Calabria).

Moreover, thanks also to the interline commercial agreement, Bulgaria Air’s passengers will benefit from single tickets for travel between Bulgaria and Air Italy’s US, Canada and Africa destinations operated from Malpensa: Miami, New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco (both from April), Toronto (from May), Cairo, Dakar, Accra and Lagos.

Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants, a lifestyle brand centered around food and wine, has announced their second wine collaboration with Chef Tyler Florence: a Sauvignon Blanc. The blend is a labor of love between Cooper’s Hawk winemaker Rob Warren and the Food Network host, author, restaurateur and winemaker, Tyler Florence. The collaboration wine is a limited production blend made for the company’s 300,000-plus Wine Club and is positioned as July’s “Wine of the Month”.         First eighth-generation Phantom brought a winning bid of $780,000 at the 2018 Naples Winter Wine Auction

        Rolls-Royce Motor Cars reserved the very first of Phantom, the “Best Car in the World” as the centerpiece of the ‘Phantom Ultimate Power Lot for luxury, motoring and wine lovers.’

    

        Over past 15 years, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars have fetched bids grossing more than $5.8 million for the auction with proceeds benefiting the Naples Children & Education Foundation 

 

On Saturday January 27, 2018, a winning bid of $780,000 secured the honor of owning the very first eighth generation Rolls-Royce Phantom. Jon Mason and his wife Bonnie from Dover Ohio became the owner of the first Phantom to glide off the line at Goodwood, Home of Rolls-Royce in England.  New Phantom offers a wholly new, contemporary design interpretation of Rolls-Royce Phantom DNA. The all-new aluminum ‘Architecture of Luxury’ underpinning the new Phantom is lighter, stiffer, quieter and more technologically advanced. The many years of engineering ensures the architectural and proportional lineage of Rolls-Royce while delivering a whole new level of ‘Magic Carpet Ride.’ All proceeds from the Festival support the Naples Winter Wine Festival’s founding organization, the Naples Children & Education Foundation (NCEF), which has supports more than 60 nonprofit agencies in Collier County Florida benefiting more than 200,000 children.

THE ANATOLE SUITE

The Anatole suite tells the tale of Uncle Anatole, a seasoned traveller recently returned from abroad, bringing a whole collection of souvenirs. Two magnificent, antique model boats show his love for the sea.

Anatole also collects orientalist paintings, particularly Cortès and Pascal; the mirrors, screen and the 18th Century canopy over the bed are other gems brought back from his travels. The antechamber is home to a desk, perfect for planning the next trip.

Visitors to the suite are greeted by a portrait of Anatole in his younger years.

THE APHRODITE SUITE

The Aphrodite suite features a spectacular round bed, surrounded by soft, diaphanous draped voile, the perfect place to relax in privacy. The suite is decorated in soothing greys and blues, reflecting the soft tones of an 18th Century Vernet-style screen. A number of extremely fine orientalist paintings add to the overall effect.

The suite opens out onto a private terrace of 30m2, with spectacular views on the garden. Visitors are welcome to take their breakfast or to enjoy an aperitif on the terrace. The suite also features a second, smaller room.

THE CONSUL SUITE

The Consul suite is decorated in the style of the Napoleonic period, when the fashion was for all things exotic. A collection of lithographs of the Bosphorus in the antechamber sits alongside a superb collection of antique trunks. The typical furniture, notably the armchairs – replicas of the throne of Tutankhamun – is set off by a palate of warm cumin, black and brown tones.

The orientalist spirit can also be seen in a series of engravings representing Napoleon’s first trip to Egypt, reflecting the fashion for exotic travel. The suite is oriented west, offering a glimpse of the Papal Palace from the windows.

THE NAPLES SUITE

The Naples suite is home to a stunning collection of gouache paintings of Mt Vesuvius erupting. The artworks are set off by the matte grey walls of the main room. Three huge, south-facing windows look out over the garden. Majestic bed hangings, suspended from an 18th Century canopy, sit alongside a modern headboard designed by Gilles Jauffret. The simple, clean lines of the light fixtures, imported from Morocco, add a graphic touch to the décor.

THE VENICE SUITE

The Venice suite features a collection of over 40 18th– and 19th-Century oil paintings of the Italian city, set against a backdrop of blue and grey tones.

Enjoy the beauties of Venice without leaving Provence! Much of Avignon’s palatial architecture is inspired by Italian art, as Papal legates commissioned their favorite artists to work on their residences in the city.

The suite also features a 1920s Iris chandelier and 1970s shell chairs, the perfect place to enjoy some of our collection of works on Venice.
