Sid Neigum Returns To RE\SET

THE COLLECTIONS™ announced today the return of internationally recognized designer, Sid Neigum, who will premiere his Spring/Summer 2019 collection exclusively in the P2 (parking garage) of Yorkville Village, 136 Yorkville Ave at 9:30 P.M. as the finale show of the first day of Toronto Fashion Week and RE\SET™ 004, September 4, 2018.

“This feels like the right time to return to Toronto to showcase my new collection at RE\SET™ at Toronto Fashion Week. Canada is having a fashion moment, and I want to support the fashion industry and help garner awareness internationally for what’s happening here at home.” States Sid Neigum, founder and designer, Sid Neigum.

Opening RE\SET™ 004 on Tuesday, Sept 4, at 4:00 P.M. THE COLLECTIONS™ will welcome another unprecedented presentation by internationally renowned Mikhael Kale, who will unveil select pieces from the FW18 collection, exclusively available at Hudson’s Bay, as well as his Spring/Summer 2019 collection inside the iconic Royal Ontario Museum (ROM), 100 Queen’s Park, presented by Toronto Fashion Week and RE\SET™, in patnership with the Royal Ontario Museum. The official ticket sponsor for Kale’s show, Mantella Corporation, will offer complimentary access to the first 100 individuals of the public. Kale’s presentation, inspired by the notion of repurposing structure, and will debut technical wrapping and tying in a way that limited the design process, with garments displaying new life from previous shape..

Both Neigum and Kale are established Canadian designers and bring with them an impressive portfolio of press attention from major international outlets including Vogue, alongside a long list of loyal celebrity fans including Beyoncé, Gigi Hadid and Bella Hadid, among many others. The return of Neigum and Kale to Toronto Fashion Week under the RE\SET™ platform, after having presented their collections in international markets including New York, Paris and London, marks a major milestone for THE COLLECTIONS™ and RE\SET™.

Neigum and Kale’s shows at RE\SET™ 004 will act as headlining shows with unparalleled production value, of which THE COLLECTIONS™ have built their reputation on.

RE\SET™ 004’s full designer calendar is now available for viewing via reset.fashion  marking the largest and most diverse line-up to date. With internationally renowned designers including New York based Daniel Gregory Natale and Victoria Hayes, alongside emerging ones-to-watch, WIL Studios and Namesake, RE\SET™ 004 will present a robust line-up of Canadian fashion talent, solidifying its place on the global fashion calendar.

All RE\SET™ and Toronto Fashion Week presentations will be supported by
beautyBOUTIQUE by Shoppers Drug Mart lead make-up artist Simone Otis. Hair will be provided by Redken Fifth Avenue New York, and lead by Jorge Joao.

Namesake Announces Artist Collaboration Collection

Bespoke luxury leather jacket brand, NAMESAKE, announced today plans to unveil a robust collection of 13 one-of-a-kind leather jackets in collaboration with top visual artists from around the world. The unveiling will take place at the upcoming season of RE\SET™ 004 at Toronto Fashion Week on Tuesday September 4, 2018 at 6:30 P.M. at the globally renowned LUMAS Gallery, 159 Yorkville Avenue in Toronto, with cocktails provided by SIPBAR and Hop City premium craft beer.

Each jacket in the collaboration will be available for purchase with proceeds directly benefiting the global fashion platform, Fashion Revolution, a not-for-profit organization aiming to radically change the way clothes are sourced, produced and consumed by ensuring safe, clean and fair conditions for workers in the manufacturing industry.

“My roots are in fine arts and bridging the divide between different arts industries is something I am passionate about. I am so excited to see this project come to fruition alongside such diverse talent for a great cause,“ states Rosa Halpern, designer and creative director, NAMESAKE. “I look forward to this project’s unveiling at RE\SET™ 004 and helping to support the great work Fashion Revolution does for the fashion community!”

Halpern worked closely with each artist to bring their combined visions to life, creating unique one-of-a-kind luxury leather jackets to represent each artist’s style, vision and artistic medium. The NAMESAKE Artist Collaboration includes photography printed directly on leather and lining, human hair fringe, bold abstract painting and hand-tattooed leather, among many other creative aspects.

The installation of leather jackets unveiled at the LUMAS Gallery on Sept 4 will remain on exhibit at the LUMAS Gallery in Yorkville until Sunday, September 9, with opportunity for purchase at NAMESAKE’s ecommerce platform, www.bythenamesake.com. Jackets will then be presented once again in the oval of Yorkville Village (55 Avenue Rd) for the month of October, allowing consumers and the general public access to see the collection first hand, and engage in supporting this initiative.

THE COLLECTIONS™ x RE\SET™

THE COLLECTIONS™, a Toronto based production agency and founders of the RE\SET™ fashion platform, now in its fourth season, announced today the full designer line-up for RE\SET™ 004 in collaboration with Toronto Fashion Week returning to Yorkville Village, 136 Yorkville Ave., September 4-6, 2018.

THE COLLECTIONS™ will bring a curated group of over 30 Canadian designers to unveil their new collections in a variety of formats including 14 presenting designers in the traditional runway model and in-studio static presentations as well as over 16 designers in the direct-to-consumer RE\SET™ Showroom.

“This season will mark our largest roster to date, featuring womenswear, menswear, unisex and accessories,” states Mel Ashcroft, Co-founder for THE COLLECTIONS™ “We are dedicated to providing a platform for designers to engage the community and connect direct-to-consumer through sales and marketing initiatives.”

The RE\SET™ 004 designer line-up includes: colourful minimalism by ready-to-wear designer Alex S. Yu; bridal and eveningwear from Christopher Paunil presented by Herman-Sellers-Gough Furs; contemporary womenswear designer Hilary MacMillan; South Asian non-traditional inspired evening and bridalwear line Mani Jassal; cutting edge sensual womenswear by Mikhael Kale; bespoke luxury leather jacket brand Namesake; genderless designer Pedram Karimi; renowned womenswear designer Tara Rivas; classic sartorial menswear from WIL Studios; Montreal based genderless collection WRKDEPT; and New York based newcomers including architecturally driven womenswear brand Daniel Gregory Natale and contemporary womenswear by Victoria Hayes.

New to RE\SETTM this season is a group presentation to celebrate the collaboration between iconic retailer, Hudson’s Bay and THE COLLECTIONS™. The show will highlight 12 Canadian designers including Atelier Guarin, Hilary MacMillan, Sid Neigum, Markoo, Mikhael Kale, Pedram Karimi, S.P. Badu, WIL Studios, WRKDEPT, Biko, Cuchara and Daniel Gregory Natale. Each designer will be available in the Discover This Pop-Up space in select stores and online at thebay.com across Canada. The collaboration launches September 4, 2018.
