Melii

Harlem-based singer/songwriter/rapper Melii has shared her much-awaited new EP MOTIONS. Released via Rule#1/Interscope Records, the seven-track EP showcases the unapologetic yet vulnerable songwriting that’s made Melii one of 2019’s most exciting breakout stars.

Melii says, ”Motions EP .. is a vibe… we continue to grow together, I want to be able to give you music that’s more than just fun.  It’s meaningful and relatable. This project is about giving the mob something to identify with as we peek into Sad Girl Winter.”

The follow-up to her acclaimed full-length debut project phAses (a 14-track project released earlier this year), MOTIONS features Melii’s powerful and passionate singles “TM Interlude” and “No Hard Feelings.” In addition, the EP includes the recently released “Nena, a Latin-flavored track that landed on the Alt.Latino Playlist from NPR (who praised Melii as “a master in the art of the concise call-out”).

Known for her force-of-nature energy and magnetic stage presence, Melii will join LVRN/Interscope Records artist Summer Walker on The First and Last Tour, kicking off later this month. Launching in New Orleans on October 27, the 35-city North American run wraps up on December 21 in Memphis, with stops in Houston, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, and Toronto.

Harlem-based singer/songwriter/artist Melii has shared her highly anticipated debut project, PhAses. Released via Rule#1/Interscope Records, PhAses is a daringly candid and powerful portrait of her past, revealing Melii to be a multi-talented force of nature.

In a recent interview with The FADER, Melii explained the meaning behind the title to the deeply intimate Phases. “As women, we go through different emotions,” Melii stated. “Every song has a wrap up, it has a story. It’s a page in my journal.”

Released last month via Rule#1/Interscope Records, “Hit My Line” premiered as a Zane Lowe World Record on Apple Music’s Beats 1. The track finds Melii facing off against A Boogie in a hot and heavy duet, its bouncy beat proving to be a perfect backdrop to her magnetic vocals.

 

Melii is now touring the U.S. as part of Meek Mill’s Motivation Tour, which kicked off last week. The two recently collaborated on “Wit the Shits (W.T.S.),” a track from Meek Mill’s new album Championships (a #1 hit on the Billboard 200).

Harlem-based singer/songwriter/rapper Melii has shared her new track See Me” and its accompanying video. Released via Rule#1/Interscope Records, “See Me” showcases the up-and-coming artist’s hypnotic delivery, bilingual vocal skills, and unapologetic lyrics.

With its video directed by Kristen White, “See Me” finds Melii bringing her signature raw honesty to a sparse and soulful R&B stunner. Set against a laid-back beat and slow-burning groove, the 20-year-old artist’s vocals shift from warm and vulnerable to hypnotically fierce, again proving her powerful charisma as a performer and songwriter.

Released in March, “Icey” is the first single from Melii’s forthcoming debut project, Phases, which is set to release this year. The AWGE-directed video for “Icey” has recently passed over one million views and additionally, the track has been in heavy rotation by New York’s biggest DJs including Ebro, Funk Flex, DJ Enuff, and both Rihanna and Kylie Jenner have played the track in various social media posts. Stars collided at Interscope Records’ annual BET Awards pre-party, held last night at Poppy in West Hollywood. The mesmerizing venue, known for dabbling with surrealism while catering to Hollywood royalty, opened its doors to an impressive list of artists, industry professionals and tastemakers. The evening was sponsored by Bud Light, Hennessy, Seedo and Lyft.
