Songwriter, producer and musician SG Lewis today shares the video for his collaborative new single ‘Better’ with rising US star Clairo. The result of a chance writing session in LA, the track instantly became a viral hit last month and was labelled “addictive” by Pigeons and Planes” with Hypebeast calling it “the perfect summer jam”. The innate chemistry the duo shared in the studio has now naturally translated into the fun, care-free video for ‘Better’. Shot in Chicago and produced by Weird Life Films (Ravyn Lenae, Soccer Mommy), ‘Better’ features both artists as they drive around the city in full-length tracksuits in a loving homage to classic Hype William’s directed videos of the later nineties, early noughties. Speaking on the track, SG says “I played Clairo the instrumental and she jumped on it straight away! The process was so natural, I kept the beat unquantized from the jam as I felt like it gave the record an old disco feel”. The single is the perfect marriage of SG’s signature warm, sunny house production and Clairo’s dreamy vocal delivery. Clairo reflects, “Sam is one of the most talented producers I know. We met the same day that we made this song, and just clicked instantly. “Better” is one of the first real steps I’ve made into ‘pop music’ and this collab feels like a match made in heaven!” ‘Better’ is the latest in a long run of exceptional collabs for SG, with his upcoming album featuring J Warner, Kartell and a host of others yet to be announced. After an incredible run of dates across Europe, America, Australia and Asia so far this year, SG also recently announced a landmark headline show at London’s iconic superclub Printworks on December 7th. In addition he will return to the US for a full tour starting in September making stops at Brooklyn’s Elsewhere on September 28th & 29th and LA’s The Fonda Theater on October 19th. This year, SG Lewis began releasing music from his ambitious three-part album ‘Dusk, Dark, Dawn’. Currently in phase one – ‘Dusk’ – SG imagines the trajectory of one night out in club music and is a loving tribute to club and youth culture. Referencing a wide breadth of styles and genres, ‘Dusk’ uses disco, west coast hip-hop and 80s electro to set the scene. Soon to move into Phase 2 – ‘Dark’ – he’ll use heavier styles like techno and rap to move the crowd into the night before heading off on his worldwide tour. US pop prodigy Clairo is on an undeniable ascent, with collaborators including Rejjie Snow and Danny L Harle and her ‘diary 001’ EP receiving major accolades across the world.SG LEWIS TOUR DATESAugust 8 Budapest, Hungary Sziget FestivalAugust 12 Pristina, Kosovo Sunny Hill FestivalAugust 24 Zurich, Switzerland Zurich OpenairAugust 25 Paris, France Rock en SeineSeptember 25 Washington, DC Union StageSeptember 26 Philadelphia, PA The Foundry at the FillmoreSeptember 28 Brooklyn, NY Elsewhere (SOLD OUT)September 29 Brooklyn, NY ElsewhereSeptember 30 Cambridge, MA The SinclairOctober 2 Toronto, ON Mod ClubOctober 3 Montreal, QC Fairmount TheatreOctober 5 Detroit, MI El ClubOctober 6 Chicago, IL Lincoln HallOctober 7 Minneapolis, MN 7th Street EntryOctober 10 Austin, TX Come and Take it LiveOctober 11 Houston, TX Bronze PeacockOctober 12 Dallas, TX HOB – Cambridge RoomOctober 14 Denver, CO Larimer LoungeOctober 16 Las Vegas, NV Hard Rock Hotel & Casino – VinylOctober 17 Santa Barbara, CA SOhO – Restaurant & Music ClubOctober 19 Los Angeles, CA The Fonda TheatreOctober 20 Santa Ana, CA The ObservatoryOctober 21 San Francisco, CA The Regency TheaterOctober 23 Portland, OR HoloceneOctober 24 Seattle, WA The CrocodileOctober 26 Vancouver, BC Fortune Sound ClubDecember 7 London, UK Printworks
In response to Governor Jerry Brown signing the final 2018-19 California state budget, Ryan J. Smith, executive director of Ed Trust–West and vice president of Ed Trust, issued the following statement:
“We celebrate the fact that the 2018-19 state budget includes a new Student Centered Funding Formula for community colleges that allocates resources based on student need and incentivizes programs and practices that increase student success and completion. Governor Brown, Chancellor Oakley, and the State Legislature made the right move for college students and Ed Trust–West applauds their leadership in this area. We were proud to stand with the dozens of civil rights, student leadership, and other advocacy organizations that championed this initiative. By funding colleges based not only on how many students they enroll, but also based on student needs and colleges’ success in supporting students, our state has the potential to close equity gaps within our educational institutions. As the new formula takes effect, we look forward to working with key stakeholders to ensure it is implemented with fidelity.
We appreciate that the final budget includes an increase of $3.7 billion for the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF), reaching initial funding targets two years ahead of schedule. The budget also allocates one-time funding for low-performing student groups not already receiving supplemental funding under LCFF, a proposal based on AB 2635, a bill put forth this year by Assemblymember Shirley Weber and featured as one of Ed Trust–West’s eight equity related legislative proposals to watch. In addition, the budget provides funding to improve community engagement in the LCAP process, funding to support school district improvement, and a commitment to take steps to improve school district budget transparency and LCAP accessibility. Ed Trust–West urges state leaders to ensure that the funds generated by our most in-need students are going to programs and services that support their success. We stand ready to help the state develop transparency and accessibility tools that truly meet the needs of local LCFF stakeholders.
This year’s state budget is a step in the right direction. As California elects the next group of state leaders this November, we are eager to continue to fight to ensure that our budget is a reflection of our state’s values and prioritizes students of color and low income students K – college.”
Fashion industry veteran & creative director Hector Estrada has created a limited-edition interpretation of the Mindblower, an iconic FILA sneaker, under the Truth Seeker label, Estrada’s recently launched clothing label which is focused on human-centric design and visual communication. Originally released in 1995, the chunky running shoe is known for its oversized, warped FILA logo.
Estrada has re-imagined the Mindblower, casting it in a neutral, earthy palette. The fashion-forward gray and blue colorway references stones and flowing rivers, inspired by the concept of universal balance. A sock liner features a print of a hypnotic eye, a symbol of sacred geometry.
Louis Colon of FILA says of the collaboration, “We chose Truth Seeker as we appreciate the not just forward but focused point of view of the brand. As we look for partners we set the goal that each partner create something unique and the product is proof of how special this project is.”
Truth Seeker x Fila Mindblower is available at truthseekerbrand.com
FILA’s heritage line of footwear is currently in high demand, and this marks the first re- release of this design and an opportunity for the brand to introduce this silhouette to a new generation of consumers. For more information about the relaunch of Mindblower, visit filamindblower.com.

London-born rapper STEFFLON DON today releases the brand-new video for her single Senseless. The video is available to watch here.
The video for Senseless which was shot in Jamaica and co-directed by Steff is classic Stefflon Don – incredible outfits, exotic locations and Steff being her usual bombastic-self. The track, which stands as another strong female point of view and which has already topped over 3m plays on streaming platforms alone is already a live favorite and adds to her catalogue of over 250m streams across DSPs.
Hot off the back of her performances at BBC Radio 1’s Biggest Weekend and Capital’s Summertime Ball, Steff is set for a summer of festival appearances across Europe as well her first headline US tour starting in San Francisco. Last year, Steff went from strength-to-strength to cement her reputation as London’s most formidable young talent. From winning Best Female at the MOBO Awardsto Best Newcomer at this yearߣs NME, the Clapton-raised star continued to defy expectations, managing to release both the gritty Skepta-featured track Ding-A-Ling as well as the anthemic dancehall of her debut single Hurtin’ Me (which saw the artist land her first top 10 single). Less than six months later and Steff has world domination in her sights; having recently covered both ES Magazine as well as the last ever issue of NME, gone platinum on Hurtin’ Me (1.5M+ singles sold), amassed a monstrous 298M+ worldwide streams. With recent collaborations with the likes of Future, Quavo, Big Sean, Halsey, MC Fioti, Niska and CalvinHarris, there seems to be nowhere Steff can’t go.

Dark yet humorous, WIINSTON’s official video for Lala extends the single’s commentary on social dynamics in Los Angeles. Alexander Andersen, who plays Ivar the Boneless in the hit HISTORY drama Vikings, is cast as a megalomaniac TV host who continually sabotages his interviews and violates the personal boundaries of his guests in an effort to assuage his feelings of inferiority and need for recognition.
His guests include WIINSTON, an author (played by Julie Christiansen) and an actor making a comeback (played by Daniel Wagner). Producer/songwriter Alfred Thomas and singer/songwriter Daniel Richards, the two longtime friends behind WIINSTON, once again partnered with directors Joachim Morre and Sren Kahr and producer Christian Lenhart, who helmed videos for the singles Rosa, Canada, and Mio. View Lala HERE and download/stream the single HERE.
Variance Magazine proclaimed Lala addictive and noted, It’s brimming with sunny vibes, effortlessly capturing the lure of L.A. nights, poolside romance and fast flings. VENTS Magazine hailed it as another certified slow-burning banger. Aupium observed, Lala is about the glorious & soul-crushing narcissism of Lalaland. Hillydilly said, “The Danish duo won us over with their silky soundscapes and emotional songwriting, yet, now, they’re revealing a more upbeat side of their sound with Lala.”
WIINSTON’s three previous singles: Rosa, Canada, and Mio have nearly four million streams combined on Spotify. The duo made its Capitol Records debut in February 2018 with Rosa. Earmilk praised the song and accompanying video as full of modern soul and predicted, The Danish group are slated for a massive breakout in the States.
The hypnotic Canada landed on Spotify’s tastemaker playlist Weekly Buzz soon after its release and also appeared on multiple New Music Friday playlists. The Line Of Best Fit hailed it as an expertly crafted R&B track taking cues from the pop world with its infectious hook. Mio, a hip-hop inspired song with a dreamy melody, prompted Clash Magazine to observe, Bristling with flouro-soaked tones, the sheer ambition is something to behold. All three tracks were accompanied by videos created by WIINSTON and their collaborators, which showcase their image-driven artistry
Tonight, American Airlines and Mastercard presented The Chainsmokers (consisting of Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart)
at The Wiltern in Koreatown LA. The event was easily accessible via Metro LA [subway/trains] and ride-sharing apps. It was truly a whimsical experience coupled with pyrotechnics and special effects. Upon entrance, VIP guests were provided oversized glow sticks alongside of gift bags. The venue exhibited eye-catching architecture both inside and out. After gaining access, rewarded guests quickly made their way to various open bar stations sprinkled throughout the complex. Small bites in conjunction with numerous step and repeat banners constantly kept us alert with a plethora of blinking lights. The overall execution was an EDM fan’s dream and encapsulated the innate energy of the electronica genre. Their set was absolutely phenomenal, performing crowd favorites like “Closer” and “Don’t Let Me Down.”
This news coincides with the exciting announcement of two upcoming headline dates this summer: Asbury Lanes in Asbury Park, NJ on August 11 and Brooklyn Steel in Brooklyn, NY on August 13. Tickets are on sale today.
