Welcome To Mirrorland

Dreamville/Interscope Records duo, EarthGang, comprised of Olu and WowGr8, have released their highly anticipated debut album, Mirrorland. The long awaited project from the Atlanta natives packs a punch with 14 meticulously curated tracks, including previously released “Proud of U” featuring Young Thug, with 10 million Spotify streams, and “Up,” which first premiered on COLORS Berlin almost a year ago to this day. Smino Unleashes “Reverend” Track

Smino is on a roll. The St. Louis rap phenomenon has been flowing nonstop since the release of his sophomore album, NOIR, last November. His latest single, “Reverend,” produced by Chicago newcomer, prodxvzn, is a lyrical stream of consciousness that serves as another testament to the midwest MC’s otherworldy gifts. Listen HERE.

The artist is currently featured on the Dreamville posse cut, “Sacrifices,” with J. Cole, Saba and Earth Gang. He also nabbed a coveted guest spot on Chance the Rapper’s album, The Big Day, on the song, “Eternal.” The duo recently performed it for the first time at Lollapalooza and, by all accounts, ripped the stage.

Earlier this year, Smino headlined the sold-out “Hoopti Tour,” which took him to 33 cities across the United States, Canada and England and appeared on an episode of Wild’n Out. His new single “Reverend” is now available at all digital retailers via Zero Fatigue/Downtown Interscope Records.

Singer/songwriter Billy Raffoul releases Live In June EP  today, August 23, on Interscope Records.  Live In June was recorded during Raffoul’s spring 2019 club tour opening for Parachute. “Playing live for an audience has always been the most important thing to me so I am happy to share five live versions of previously released songs with you all,” says Raffoul.   “In between these songs I am trying my hand at comedy… in the event that this music thing doesn’t work out.”

Growing up in the small farming town of Leamington, Ontario, Raffoul first started writing songs at age 10, thanks in no small part to the influence of his father—a musician who’s opened for everyone from Joe Cocker to Bon Jovi. After landing his first paying gig—playing to long-haul drivers at a local truck stop—Raffoul began playing at nearby bars and clubs at age 16, often driving into Detroit for shows. He eventually connected with a manager and moved down to Nashville to push forward with his music career. Soon after scoring a deal with Interscope Records, Raffoul released the critically hailed song “Driver” and followed that with his debut EP 1975 in June 2018 which featured the fan favorite “Acoustic.”

Critical praise followed with NPR raving, “Billy Raffoul has stepped into the spotlight.” Over the past few years, Raffoul has opened for heavyweight artists like, Kings of Leon, X Ambassadors, NEEDTOBREATHE and Kaleo, captivating crowds with his understated yet intensely passionate stage presence.

Anuel AA and Ozuna “Adicto”

Latin GRAMMY© winning producer Tainy taps Latin trap rapper Anuel AA, and reggaetonero Ozuna for his latest single, “Adicto” out now on Interscope Records/ Neon 16. “Adicto” was featured as Zane Lowe’s World Record today on Apple Music’s Beats 1 and is available now at all  digital retailers

The Zak Facts directed video comes just in time for cuffing season, highlighting the trios trysts with love. Coming out swinging as a solo artist, Tainy powers back-to-back hits such as, “Callaita,” with Bad Bunny, and “I Can’t Get Enough” with benny blanco, Selena Gomez, and J. Balvin — the mogul continues to thrive on the music scene. View the video for “Adicto” here.

“Adicto” is the latest single off of Tainy’s upcoming solo project under NEON16 — his multifaceted label recently co-founded with renowned music exec, and former EVP at Roc Nation Records, Lex Borrero. The “Adicto” music video features Tainy’s first-ever close-up as a bonafide solo artist. And the multi-hyphenate, Tainy, plays his renowned keys on camera for his loyalists, as Ozuna croons: “Han pasado varios días y estoy enfermo de ti/ Dime que me hiciste mal/ De mi memoria yo no te puedo borrar/ Dios me va a castigar le prometí te iba a olvidar.”

Anuel AA articulates the growing pains of love, as the MC’s “Adicto” vice on wax is his woman. The thrill of a passionate love often runs its course, and the picturesque “Adicto” video shows both the highs and lows of multiple young lovers. And with the outro, “Bebe yo soy adicto a tu piel/ Yo trato de explicarte y tu no quieres entender,” Tainy, Ozuna, and Anuel AA leave their “Adicto” viewers wondering if the thing they love most is what they are better off without.

5 Seconds of Summer “Teeth”

“Teeth,” the explosive new single from 5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS), was released today by Interscope Records. Produced by Andrew Watt and Louis Bell, the track ventures deeper into the dark sonic territory that 5SOS explored on their summer hit, “Easier.” “Teeth” features the legendary Tom Morello soloing on guitar throughout the track. Listen to “Teeth” HERE.

The official video for “Teeth” was helmed by French director Thibaut Duverneix (Elton John, Tierra Whack). In the clip, 5SOS become subjects in a consciousness-altering experiment that triggers harrowing hallucinations. Watch the video HERE. “Teeth,” which is the second single from the band’s forthcoming album, will also appear on the original soundtrack to 13 Reasons Why (Season 3), set for August 23 release via Interscope Records.

“’Teeth’ came about after a month or two long blur of writing and pushing ourselves to go a step further than Youngblood,” says lead vocalist Luke Hemmings. “It was a tumultuous time in my life and the lyrics in the song definitely reflect that. It speaks lyrically about a trying time in my current relationship. Musically it’s another step forward from ‘Easier’ and really embraces industrial sounds and rhythms.

Collaborating with Ryan Tedder was incredible as was Andrew Watt, Ali Tamposi & Lou Bell. ‘Teeth’ captures the soul of 5 Seconds of Summer and I truly believe it is a unique song to us as a band and doesn’t sound like anything out at the moment. It’s my favorite song we’ve released ever and I can’t wait for people to hear it.”

Last week, 5SOS released the Charlie Puth remix of “Easier.” Listen HERE.

“Easier” is currently #11* at Top 40 radio and has amassed over 231 million streams worldwide across video and audio. Hailing “Easier” as a “Song You Need to Know,” Rolling Stone observed, “‘Easier’ culls inspiration from Nine Inch Nails’ industrial pop hit ‘Closer’…The added edge of their new sound is a promising sign.” GQ named “Easier” as one of the “Best Songs of 2019 So Far” and noted, “Why fight a good thing when it’s this damn good?” Entertainment Weekly praised the “edgy music video,” which can be seen HERE.

5SOS is the only band (not vocal group) in chart history to see its first three full-length studio albums enter the Billboard 200 at No. 1. Across their catalog, 5SOS has sold more than eight million equivalent album units and sold over two million concert tickets worldwide, while cumulative streams of their songs now surpass seven billion. 5SOS –comprising Luke Hemmings (vocals/guitar), Michael Clifford (vocals/guitar), Calum Hood (vocals/bass) and Ashton Irwin (vocals/drums) – are recognized for an array of prestigious accolades including an American Music Award, a People’s Choice Award, two iHeartRadio Music Awards, eight MTV European Music Awards, five ARIA Awards, two APRA and two MTV Video Music Awards. The band will be touring North America this fall.

Arin Ray, Kehlani

Arin Ray × Kehlani

Last week Arin Ray and Kehlani impressed R&B listeners with their tantalizing collaboration “Change”. Now, the pair has teamed up to create a nostalgic and sultry visual to accompany the track. The video’s throwback aesthetic and coloring, beautifully mesh with the song to create a heartfelt nod to classic rhythm and blues. Check out the Miles & AJ directed visual HERE.

Arin is particularly excited about this video, noting in his recent interview with Billboard, “I’ve had some dope videos in the past, but this one, as far as creativity and doing things differently, this is the one.”

It’s this kind of artistic integrity that has allowed Ray to blossom into a full-fledged artist who also writes and produces most of his own material.  In December 2018, the classically trained vocalist released Platinum Fire [Deluxe] and initiated a healthy buzz with back-to-back bangers, “Roses” and “Reckless.”  Ray has since continued to spread the love and grow his audience by touring across the United States.

The single “Change” is now available on all digital retailers via Interscope Records.

Louisville Rapper Markie Releases “Ugly Places”

Following the release of his first video/single “Repent”, new Interscope artist Markie, has released another single called “Ugly Places”. This single will also be featured on his upcoming album. Check out the song below. A 19-year-old rapper with a lifetime of stories to tell, Markie hails from the East End of Louisville, Kentucky—a place that inevitably pours into each song he creates. “Where I come from is the gutter, it’s the trenches,” says Markie. “People have their ideas of what life is like in Louisville, so I wanted to use my music to tell them what’s really going on.” Markie’s forthcoming debut project brings his magnetic charisma and melodic flow to that purposely unfiltered truth-telling.

Markie first discovered his gift with words as a little kid, finding early recognition by winning third place in a statewide short-story contest in sixth grade. Naming Lil Wayne and Boosie Badazz among his longtime influences, he got his start in music at age 18, teaming up with his cousin and recording his first song in a closet studio. He soon caught the ear of local producers, who offered him free studio time at a recording spot in his neighborhood. Before he’d even released any of his songs, Markie landed a management deal and quickly drew the attention of Interscope Records, who signed him in early 2019.
