Tuscan Women Cook

A Culinary Immersion Vacation Experience

Have you ever wanted to learn to cook in Italy, to participate in Tuscan cooking classes? And return home with recipes handed down over generations and collected by us since 2000? Each spring and fall, Coleen Kirnan and Rhonda Vilardo welcome guests from around the world to live, breath and cook as Italians do. Taking advantage of their years of business experience and knowledge, as master event planners, they create an insider’s Tuscan itinerary filled friendly, knowledgeable tour guides, translators, drivers and private cooking classes that only a local resident could access.

Indulge yourself in the Tuscan lifestyle and discover the region’s passion for food and wine in a small group of 18 people or less. The best cooks in all of Tuscany, the local women, or “nonnas,” teach their classes. They’ll share regional techniques, ingredients, and family recipes that have been passed down over the centuries. Put on your apron, gather around the old farmhouse table, get wrist-deep in pasta dough and learn Tuscan cooking from the source. You’ll learn first-hand how to make gnocchi, tagliatelli, and pici— thick strings of handmade eggless pasta made originally in Montefollonico.

Your week with Tuscan Women Cook includes six night’s accommodation at Agriturismo Belagaggio, a restored farmhouse in Montefollonico, breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day, cooking classes, daily sightseeing, visits to local artisans, cheese and wine tastings. Full day sight- seeing in Siena with a private guide who has a doctorate in Sienese history. Full translation is provided at all classes. Transportation to all activities is in a Mercedes minibus with private driver.

For wine lovers, Tuscan Women Cook is situated in the heart of Brunello de Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano country, and border on the Chianti wine region. This is the center of the new Italian wine renaissance and a dream locale for your next getaway with family and friends. Wine connoisseurs plan the ultimate Bucket List trip here to sample new wines and visit the spectacular vineyards. Tuscan Women Cook hosts will provide you with exclusive introductions to renowned Tuscan vintners and opportunities to purchase their award-winning wines for their personal cellars.

Rag & Bone AI Dinner Party

RAG & BONE NYFW: MERGING AI TECHNOLOGY AND HUMANS

An unexpected multi-sensory and immersive experience: ‘A Last Supper’, challenging the future of fashion

For the first time, New York fashion week sees an Artificial Intelligence system help showcase rag & bone’s Fall/Winter 2019 through a multi sensory and immersive experience, ‘A Last Supper’.

Hosted by CEO Marcus Wainwright, Christine Jones (Designer of Queen of the Night), Nigel Godrich (Producer of the band Radiohead), ‘A Last Supper’ was created to explore the the relationship between Artificial Intelligence and Humans. From the first toast given by the AI, the system will effectively learn and evolve through the actions of the guests as they perform one of the most timeless and age-old ways to bond and make friends: over dinner. A nod to the way in which we might coexist with an Artificial Intelligence, as per The Singularity.

The night will see guests led by a cast of performers through an immersive and sensory environment woven with the unexpected. Set against the majestic backdrop of The Weylin in Brooklyn (a historic former savings bank), the collection with re-affirm the brand’s dedication to providing functional and authentic clothing which is rooted through a unique fusion of military, American workwear, sport and British tailoring.

The dinner will be curated by Chef Ignacio Mattos (Estela) and Tamar Adler with a special performance developed by Choreographer, Damien Jalet (Suspiria). All guests will arrive for the evening wearing the brand’s new collection.

Selected guests will be captured with depth cameras to generate point cloud data, a representation of how the AI sees the world. In real time, this content will be incorporated into live futuristic video-scapes created by audio-visual composer Tarik Barri.

The dinner explores how we will keep our humanity and experience and celebrate fashion in the future as we embrace an exponentially growing machine intelligence. In a version of ‘A Last Supper’ before the singularity, in which machines exceed human ability, the brand presents a beautiful and twisted vision of how.

This latest project solidifies rag & bone’s position as an industry innovator and a multi faceted brand which is anchored by authenticity and quality.

360 Magazine × G-Shock

By Bob Cal

Partnering with the Nassau Fire Department, G-Shock hosted an exclusive ‘Train Like a Firefighter’ event to unveil their latest product—the Mudmaster. 360 Magazine, along with a dozen other editors and photographers, attended this one-day class to gain first-hand experience with G-Shock’s high performance watch.

Arriving at G-Shock’s Soho location in Manhattan, the media personnel were transported to the Nassau County Fire Department in Long Island—and boy were they in for an adrenaline rush! Each attendee was gifted a G-Shock Mudmaster watch to test during this day of high intensity classes instructed by certified firefighting teachers. The students for the day were clad head to toe in heavy, authentic fire fighting gear, doing everything from traversing a pitch black building, busting out of a trapped room and sliding down the rope of a second floor window– all while wearing their G-Shock Mudmaster watch. The media guests were both physically and mentally tested.

Living up to its name, the mud resistant Mudmaster watch was like a diamond through every firefighting drill. Never did it scratch or catch dirt through contact with debris. Its light weight maximizes comfort and ease without comprising durability and longevity. The product’s other features include a digital compass, LED lights and water resistance. It is an all around visually elegant performance accessory.

Art Of The Wild

Maison Perrier-Jouët presents EDEN by Perrier-Jouët: an ephemeral, immersive experience, taking place at Faena Hotel, in parallel with Design Miami/, the contemporary art fair that the House has collaborated with for the past seven years. On 5th December, the biggest names in Miami came together to discover Art of the Wild, the extravagant universe as seen by the House to re-enchant the everyday through the presence of unbridled nature. It continues to enchant Miami with a packed programme of events.

Maison Perrier-Jouët is taking over Miami, where it unleashed EDEN by Perrier-Jouët: an invitation to delve into the House’s relationship with art and nature that spans back to its foundation. It was the ideal setting for spreading Art of the Wild, the House’s vision of an unexpected and joyful world, where nature reveals itself in all its liberty and exuberance. Reflecting this vibrant spirit, Winnie Harlow hosted a party on 5th December where people from all horizons were brought together for a unique champagne experience.

The House spread Art of the Wild by setting up this space on the beach. It was fitted with graphics created by Luftwerk, a creative duo commissioned by the House last year to interpret its cultural heritage, in particular the anemone motif designed in 1902 by Emile Gallé – one of the masters of Art Nouveau – that adorns bottles from the Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque collection. The immersion continued with a virtual reality journey that began in the heart of the magnetic nature of Art of the Wild and took guests on an exploration of the House’s cellars in Epernay, Champagne. Rounding things off, a photobooth in the same style was set up to capture highlights of the festivities.

Created for the House by British designer Bethan Laura Wood, HyperNature takes the form of a tree with an extravagant, intense presence. It proposes a new, whimsical champagne experience where flutes can be “plucked” directly from the branches, as a grape might be plucked from a vine. It is also on display in the Collectors Lounge of Design Miami/ throughout the fair.

EDEN by Perrier-Jouët presents two packed days and nights of Art of the Wild events, during which guests can taste a selection of Maison Perrier-Jouët’s cuvées. On the 5th, the House hosted a talk with Bethan Laura Wood, organised by Dazed Arts. On the 6th, Maison Perrier-Jouët is welcoming a creative brunch with food designer Laila Gohar and sunset cocktails to accompany a private trunk show presenting the new jewellery collection by Jade Jagger. Rounding off the residency will be the launch of the CR Fashion Book Calendar with Estee Lauder. A complete schedule covering lifestyle, fashion, food and design, reflecting the House’s openness to all forms of creativity.

At the EDEN by Perrier-Jouët, just as at Design Miami/, the House shares its approach to champagne that stands apart from customary codes, stemming from its creative freedom and unconventional observations of nature, supported by a community of free spirits who share its values. These “Artisans of the Wild” come from a variety of creative fields, including design, fashion and gastronomy – represented by Bethan Laura Wood, Winnie Harlow and Laila Gohar, respectively – as well as art and hospitality. Along with its Artisans of the Wild, the House is writing a new chapter in a story that has been unfolding for over 200 years.
