Yoshi Flower

In June, the naturally genre-blending artist released his latest mixtape, Peer Pleasure, which was described by Rolling Stone as the “perfect album” for a “smooth summer soundtrack.” The nine-track tape explores various topics such as, validation, love and envy, amongst others. Earlier this month, V MAN premiered the “glittering” video for “Empty.” Despite the glitz and glam, bathing in diamonds, and living an extraordinarily wealthy lifestyle, the track continues to explore
another feeling of his, what’s money without love? Yoshi is set to hit
the stage at Lollapalooza today and will be joining Omar Apollo tonight
at Lolla Aftershow.

Peer Pleasure combines a variety of instrumentation styles, from moody
beats to folky strings, with his sincerely pop-rock affectation and
gloomy words. The tape ends up being a soundtrack to the most chaotic
teen dramedy to have ever been made. It lands squarely between
temperaments, allowing for a listening experience that’s just as
genuine as his previous release, American Raver.” – PAPER

Shenseea

Jamaican dancehall princess Shenseea descended into Los Angeles this weekend for BET Awards; a pit stop in between the performer’s packed out touring schedule. The Interscope signee stopped by her label’s pre-BET Award party and showed out in a pink panther inspired look that left the industry packed room wanting for more. Since releasing her debut label single “Blessed” — now with over 15 Million plays across platforms — the singer/songwriter has been busy traveling the Americas and Caribbean for live performances which culminates in New York next month at MOMA PS1’s “Warm Up” series on Saturday, July 20th.
Praise for Shenseea and “Blessed”:
“Amplified by pounding production that fuses the energetic vibes found in Latin trap and dancehall… [Shensea’s] name will now be on the tip of everyone’s tongues.” — Billboard
“Dancehall artist Shenseea is making a mark with her fiery rhythmic sound and for her new single, “Blessed…”  — Hypebeast
“Rising Jamaican dancehall star Shenseea turns a popular hashtag into a certified hip-swiveling banger.” — PAPER
“The bass-heavy track was produced by Rvssian, and is dripping with energy as the rising star oozes self-confidence from start to finish.” — VIBE

ABOUT SHENSEEA
In less than three years, Shenseea has ascended through Jamaica’s dancehall ranks to become one of the genre’s most sought-after artists. Known for her alluring style and bold delivery of patois rhymes, (called deejaying in Jamaican parlance) Shenseea has already worked with some of dancehall’s top acts. Her 2016 collaboration with dancehall luminary Vybz Kartel, “Loodi,” established Shenseea’s fame throughout Jamaica and the Caribbean. Garnering millions of views on her Youtube channel, Shenseea continued to release music that were instant hits that also worked to empower females, female sexuality while staying true to her Jamaican roots — singles like “Pon Mi,” “Trending Gyal” and “Shenyeng Gang” can be heard loud throughout the islands. Since her initial rise, Shenseea has brought her enigmatic energy and performances to sold out shows and festivals across the Caribbean and internationally. The 22-year old artist is currently at work on her debut album, a collaboration with renowned hit maker, Rvssian marking a huge move to take over the globe with her pop star appeal.
Born Chinsea Lee in Mandeville, Jamaica, Shenseea and her family moved to Kingston, the island’s capital, and the epicenter of reggae and dancehall music, when she was three years old. Like so many great Jamaican vocalists before her, Shenseea developed her love of music while singing in church; throughout her childhood and early teens, primarily listening to American pop and hip-hop; it was during her high school years that she discovered dancehall reggae, and her affinity for performing it. She began posting her renditions of American and Jamaican artists’ songs on her social media pages and received widespread encouragement. In January 2019, Shenseea officially signed to Rvssian’s Rich Immigrants label, a joint venture with Interscope Records.

Jamie N Commons

British singer/songwriter Jamie N Commons releases a new song today.  “Start Again” was written by Commons and Sam de Jong and produced by Sam de Jong and is available now at all digital retailers. Commons will perform a headline show at New York City’s Mercury Lounge on July 25th before heading out on a five-city trek supporting Kodaline. Tickets are on sale now at www.jamiencommons.com. Listen to “Start Again” here.

Commons recently partnered with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and advertising agency M/H VCCP for Runaway Train 25, a cross-industry initiative to reinvent the search for missing children in the U.S.  In the 1990s, the original “Runaway Train” video by Soul Asylum, NCMEC and director Tony Kaye featured 36 missing kids. After it aired on MTV, 21 of those missing kids were recovered. Commons, along with Skylar Grey and Gallant, recorded a new version of the award-winning song and shot a new video for the track. Watch “Runaway Train” here.

The KIDinaKORNER/Interscope Records artist released the video for his current single “Won’t Let Go” last month and is working on his first full length album which will be released later this year.   “Start Again,” and “Won’t Let Go” follows the release of “Paper Dreams” which came out last November. This new music showcases a new direction for the musician that is heavily influenced by 80s pop.  Still evident is Commons’ bluesy-rock sensibility,  as showcased in his previous  releases “Rumble And Sway” and “Lead Me Home”, with a hint of what’s to come.

Born in Bristol in the late 80s and following that with a stint in Chicago, Commons returned to England set on a music career studying at Goldsmiths in London, notorious for its host of luminary alumni.  Commons released The Baron EP in 2011 followed by his KIDinaKORNER/Interscope debut Rumble And Sway EP in 2013 showcasing his whiskey-laced growl.  Commons’ workmanlike approach has been fed further by the work he’s doing for others. Among his successes, he co-wrote the hit “Jungle” for X Ambassadors with Alex Da Kid and Sam Harris, and toured with the band. He also had a Beats by Dre ad, and was featured on Eminem’s ‘MMLP2’ album. Commons won Music Week’s Sync Artist Of The Year in 2016. This past year Commons composed the music for the summer blockbuster “Skyscraper” starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. These experiences opened his ears to a spectrum of genres, making him more interested in the path pop music is taking.
