On “HML,” Melii faces off against A Boogie in a hot and heavy duet. The track’s bouncy beat makes a perfect backdrop to her magnetic vocals, which slip from delicate to fierce with undeniable command.
“HML” follows Melii’s recent single “See Me,” a December release praised by HotNewHipHop as a “baddie anthem” that “serves as a pick me up for those struggling through the dynamics of relationships in the digital era.” The 21-year-old artist’s latest features also include her collaboration with Meek Mill on “Wit the Shits (W.T.S.),” a track from his new album Championships (a #1 hit on the Billboard 200).
Recently featured on NYLON’s “15 Up-And-Coming Artists To Watch In 2019” list, Melii is now at work on her debut project Phases: a narrative-based exploration of her past, from the painful memories to the major triumphs that ultimately led to her breakout success.
Melii has drawn acclaim for singles like “Icey (Spanish Remix)” (named “one of the year’s starkest rap hits” by Jon Caramanica of the New York Times), “La Envidia Mata” (dubbed a “sledgehammer of a single” by Rolling Stone), and “Como Si Na” (featured on a “5 Songs You Need to Listen to This Week” from TIME). She’s also earned admiration from Billboard, who stated that “Every few years, a new artist emerges from Harlem, ready to take on the rap world…In 2018, that spotlight belongs to Melii.”
Rising hip hop star and Jacksonville native Trap Beckham has recently released his EP Happy Belated via Stevie Stacks Entertainment/EMPIRE. The EP’s high-energy and infectiously catchy tracks showcase the rapper’s insanely fun and crafty production stylings, along with Cobi Mixed That, The Game Changers, The Flight Club, Big Hack & Pablo, Beast Mode and Bankroll Got It. Happy Belated has already received buzz from various outlets, such as HipHopDX, Hype Off Life, and Real Street Radio.
Happy Belated follows shortly after Trap Beckham’s scorching hot summer mixtape, Evil Emoji, which has already helped to legitimatize his growing presence in the industry. His musical talents have also spawned successful bangers, such as the wildly popular “Birthday Bitch,” which has garnered over 30 million streams and has become a major favorite among celebrities, such as LeBron James, Kylie Jenner, Angela Simmons, Leslie Jones, Zendaya, and famed actress Halle Berry. The breakout hit and millennial birthday anthem was also featured in Season 1 Episode 8 of the critically acclaimed HBO Series Insecure.
Trap Beckham looks to carry his momentum into full-blown superstardom. The arrival of his debut EP, Life Is Lit [Def Jam Records], includes singles “Backwoods,” “Cold,” and club phenomenon, “Lil Booties Matter,” which stars Cardi B’s younger sister and social media personality, Henessy Carolina, in the official music video. Trap Beckham’s musical style of lively, upbeat instrumentation, catchy lyrics, and the ability to create dancefloor hits at will is reminiscent of southern hip-hop legend Uncle Luke and has helped him attain wide success, catching the attention of major labels and eventually landing him a deal with Def Jam Recordings. This year, Trap Beckham’s independent hustle led him to join forces with Stevie Stacks Entertainment and EMPIRE to release a series of new and exciting music for fans to get up and dance to. With the arrival of Happy Belated, Trap Beckham continues to break through to the masses with an original sound and style that’s undeniably sensational. Not to mention, the young rapper has already been featured in VIBE, XXL, HotNewHipHop, and more!
A nocturnal triptych of neon electronics, woozy hip-hop, and impressively deft rapping, the record showcases every side of two-piece–Derek Wise and 88 Camino. Just last week, they teased the forthcoming arrival of 88GLAM2 with the release of the single “Lil Boat.” Within a week, it cracked 500K Spotify streams and attracted praise from Complex, HotNewHipHop, and more.
From the hypnotic crunch of “Purple Baguettes” through the smoked-out finale “Endz,” the album dips in and out of a myriad of sonic styles and worlds, bringing its own vibrant vision to life in the process.
88GLAM2 arrives hot on the heels of the group’s Spring project 88GLAM: Reloaded. Its lead single “Bali” (feat. Nav) impressively eclipsed 32 million Spotify streams with “12” nearing 10 million and “Kyrie” dunking over 8 million. Additionally, the group has earned acclaim from Billboard, HotNewHipHop, XXL, and more. 88GLAM only continues to skyrocket towards hip-hop supremacy.
