NUE Drops EP “U Met Me At A Strange Time”

Toronto native, NUE releases his latest EP, U Met Me At A Strange Time.

NUE made waves in 2017 with his critically-acclaimed mixtape, Iroquois. Now the anime illustrator is back with a 10-track project that reflects on the many losses he experienced this year. The lost of his close friend, Kosi Modekwe (Koba Prime), who died alongside Drake affiliate, Smoke Dawg and the lengthy prison sentences that have plagued his friendships and family.

NUE is currently on a Canadian tour with Grammy-nominated hitmaker, Fetty Wap. Earlier this year, he released the single “Nightfall,” which premiered on Noisey, who referred to the record as “nasally harmonies reminiscent of “Lollipop”-era Lil Wayne.” Additionally, he released “Nightfall’s” music video and remix with Toronto’s Pressa. Growing up in a Jamaican household in Scarborough, NUE developed a great a love for anime and basketball. After encouragement from his family, he began recording music in his brother’s basement. NUE’s unique sound and clever storytelling has garnered the attention of HypebeastPAPERNoiseyComplexThe FaderPigeons and PlanesEarmilkDirty Glove Bastard, Rap RadarHot New Hip-HopHip-Hop DX, and more.

Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross Announces Single “I Do”

Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross have announced their long-awaited debut single, “I Do.” The song will make its world premiere on Ryan Seacrest‘s iHeart Radio show and will be available for download on Sept. 7.

“I Do” is a first on many levels. It marks the first time the couple has collaborated on music, and it’s the first new music from Ashlee Simpson in over 10 years. The tender pop ballad was written by Ashlee and Evan, along with legendary bassist Verdine White of Earth, Wind & Fire, Austin Brown, Brian London, and Palmer Reed.

“Music was always one of the things that connected us from the beginning. We liked our voices together, and as time went on, we thought it was something that we wanted to share. ‘I Do’ is our commitment to our music and each other,” Ashlee and Evan say.

“I Do” will be featured in the first episode of the E! docu-series Ashlee + Evan which will premiere in the U.S on 9th September and air in 160 countries around the world. The series, will take viewers behind-the-scenes on their journey through love, making music and raising a family. “I Do” is available through Access Records.

6lack Releasing “East Atlanta Love Letter” Album

GRAMMY nominated singer-songwriter 6LACK, will release his highly anticipated sophomore album East Atlanta Love Letter (EALL) September 14th on LVRN/Interscope Records.  EALL is described as an open love letter from 6LACK to his daughter, family, friends, past and current lovers, and includes difficult questions he’s had to answer while navigating through life. The album explores universal perspectives on love and features the single, “Switch,” which was released this past June.  The announcement of EALL’s release date and album artwork were first seeded out with a total of 20,000 physical postcards mailed to fans, allowing them to be the first to know, as well as the first to tell. Each postcard also features a provocative question that aligns with themes from the upcoming album, like “Do you believe in monogamy?”

6LACK previously released the song and video for “Nonchalant,” which can be seen HERE.  At the core of this song is an attitude of calmness in the midst of intensity and anxiety – a theme that is also expected from the artist’s second studio album.
