Jennifer Truesdale

Boston based singer-songwriter Jennifer Truesdale returns to center stage with her new CD “Through The Circle”. Written and arranged by Jennifer and co-produced with David Minehan at Boston’s famed Woolly Mammoth Sound, Through The Circle is “a masterpiece of soulful and bluesy storytelling that embraces each listener into the thoughtful lyrics and brings them along on a feel-good journey.”

Moving seamlessly from blues, to soulful R&B, to jazz and gospel inspired melodies, Through The Circle speaks of love, loss, longing, laughter and the beautiful journey that is life. The first single, “I Need You Tonight”, is a sassy blues romp that is garnering attention from radio and press alike. From her belting vocals to the jazz-laden horns that support them, the truly bluesy lyrics make for a fine juxtaposition in a story of lingering love from a songwriters perspective – “I said I wouldn’t be lonely if you said goodbye // Looked out the window, watched you walk away, told myself I wasn’t gonna cry // I sat down to write a symphony but it didn’t turn out right // And oh I just need you, I need you tonight”. Other powerful tunes include the gospel inspired “We Will Not Be Forgotten”, sure to be the new anthem for 2019 with inspiring and empowering lyrics that will have you singing them over and over again.

Jennifer is joined on the album by an incredible cast of Boston A-list musicians, many faculty members and alumni of Boston’s prestigious Berklee College of Music and the Boston Symphony Orchestra including: Joe Musella, Marty Ballou, Bill D’Agostino, John Mulroy, Tom West, Hiro Tokushige, Ririka Tokushige, Angel Subero, Joe Santerre, John Grant, Lydia Harrell and Kit Holiday.

“Jennifer Truesdale reflects true artistry on “Through The Circle”….a towering vocal talent…Influences from Billie Holiday to Etta James come to mind..” – Billy Copeland Music News

In addition to 8 original songs, Through The Circle contains stunning arrangements of the John Fogerty classic “Have You Ever Seen The Rain” and Stephen Stills’ “Love The One You’re With”. Showcasing a powerhouse rhythm section, stellar horn section and soaring vocal arrangements.

An alumnus of Berklee College of Music and actively performing member of Boston’s thriving music scene, Jennifer Truesdale artfully blends Blues, Soul, Jazz, R&B and Pop with thought-provoking lyrics to create a sound that is both powerful and deeply personal. Her songs – as a solo artist and as a member of the band The Ultrasonics – have aired on major network television shows including: Hawaii 5-0, Soul Food, All My Children, One Life To Live, The Young and The Restless and Melrose Place. The Boston-area Director of the long-running showcase series Chick Singer Night, (est. 1988) Jennifer works tirelessly to showcase and promote emerging artists and give back to the community from which she came. Tori Kelly Sets Record With New Project Hiding Place

Hiding Place & Grammy-nominated artist Tori Kelly’s new passion project has set the record for the most first-week streams ever for a gospel album.

The collection, which was produced by 12-time GRAMMY Award winner Kirk Franklin, debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums chart and had the highest-selling week of any 2018 gospel album.

Hiding Place also topped Billboard’s Gospel Streaming Songs and Gospel Digital Song Sales charts plus the Apple Music Christian genre chart.

Tori was joined by Kirk Franklin and a choir last night when she performed the lead single Never Alone on The Late Show with James Corden. View their performance here! She and Franklin will also perform at the Annual GMA Dove Awards, which will be held October 16th in Nashville and air on TBN on Sunday, Oct. 21.

Tickets are on sale now at www.torikellymusic.com for Tori’s Hiding Place tour, which will kick off on Oct. 18 with a sold out concert at The Tabernacle in Atlanta, GA. The headline run includes shows at Warner Theatre in Washington DC (Oct. 28), Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium (Nov. 8), New York City’s Riverside Church (Oct. 30) plus two sold-out nights at the Cathedral Sanctuary at Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Los Angeles (Nov. 16 & 17). See below for itinerary.

Idolator observed, there was always the sneaking suspicion that the 25-year old’s voice could soar even higher, that she could open near heart even wider. That promise finally comes to fruition on Hiding Place. Kelly’s talent transcends genres.

Tori Kelly wants her new album Hiding Place to be a light in the dark for fans,” says PEOPLE magazine

Half of the songs on Hiding Place were penned by Franklin alone while the remaining tracks came from a collaboration between the two artists the first time that Franklin had ever co-written in his decades long career. The collection also features guest artists Lecrae, Johnathon McReynolds, and The Hamiltones.

Tori’s 2015 debut album Unbreakable Smile landed her on Artist to Watch–lists from the likes of Rolling Stone. It entered the Billboard 200 at No. 2 and contained the Gold-certified singles Nobody Love, Should’ve Been Us, and Hollow.

Unbreakable Smile has racked up more than one billion cumulative streams worldwide and sold 1.3 million adjusted albums. Following its release, Tori was nominated for a GRAMMY in the Best New Artist category and received the Billboard Women in Music Breakthrough Artist award.

New Collaborative Album

A family of artists from the Mountain Home Music Company have come together to record and release a special album that sends a message of hope and help. COME SEE ABOUT ME: A Benefit For The IBMA Trust Fund releases Sept. 28th from the award-winning label. The 11-track concept offering, created to generate income for and awareness of the Fund, features Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Donna Ulisse, Darin & Brooke Aldridge, The Grascals, Sideline, Lonesome River Band, Balsam Range, Chris Jones & The Night Drivers, Love Canon and other special guests. The collection is available for pre-order now, and fans can catch a three-minute teaser in this YouTube video. Radio programmers can download the first single release, “Come See About Me,” from AirPlay Direct and fans can stream it HEREnow. To make direct donations to the Fund, click HERE.
When Doyle Lawson had the idea to develop this project for the Trust Fund,Mickey Gamble, Mountain Home president, didn’t hesitate to say yes. “The effort and resources needed weren’t really a consideration,” Gamble recalls. “We are a purpose-driven organization.”

For Lawson, who served as an Executive Producer with Gamble, knowing the end goal kept him focused on the project. While each artist produced their own songs, Lawson says, “We are all in this together, but we all bring something unique to the gathering and that’s important to remember.”

Gamble reflects, “So many folks came together in this effort to make it a reality. They gave of their time and talent freely and without question. These artists proved that the shared value of help is alive and well in our part of the world, and I will be forever grateful for that reminder.”

Artists, Songs & Track List

1 Sideline – Their Hands Made The Music (M. Brinkman)
2 Donna Ulisse – A Little Trust (D. Ulisse, R. Stanley)
3 Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver – All The Good Things We Could Do (D. Ulisse, R. Long)
4 Lonesome River Band – If I Needed You (T. Van Zandt)
5 Balsam Range – We’re All In This Together (B. Husband, M. Miller)
6 Love Canon – You’ve Got A Friend In Me (R. Newman)
7 Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver – We’ll Never Walk Alone (R. Swift)
8 Darin & Brooke Aldridge – Those Tears (D. Duff, L. Shaffer)
9 Chris Jones & The Night Drivers – Glimpse Of The Kingdom (C. Jones, J. Weisberger)
10 The Grascals – Help! (J. Lennon, P. McCartney)
11 The Mountain Home Family – Come See About Me (Harold L. Jenkins)

Each song was carefully selected to cement the central themes of hope, trust and faith. Firmly grounded in Bluegrass, the album is enhanced with Country, Gospel, Rock and Pop influences that provide for the unexpected. The project kicks off with “Their Hands Made The Music,” an apt scene-setter performed by Sideline. Donna Ulisse proves the power of love in the lilting “A Little Trust,” while Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver and vocalist Dustin Pyrtle remind us of “All The Good Things We Could Do” if we lend a hand to friends in need. Lonesome River Band (with guest vocalist Brooke Aldridge) slows things down with a breathtaking version of Townes Van Zandt’s “If I Needed You,” which leads to the up-tempo Balsam Range counterpoint-laden “We’re All In This Together.” “You’ve Got A Friend In Me” is an impeccable cover of Randy Newman’s classic ode to friendship performed by Love Canon, and Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver return with a Gospel roots song, “We’ll Never Walk Alone.” Darin & Brooke Aldridge shine on the vignette of broken hearts and pain that is “Those Tears,” and Chris Jones & The Night Drivers’ “Glimpse Of The Kingdom” carves out a positive message from a song in a minor key. The Grascals, as ever irrepressible, triumph with their interpretation of The Beatles’ “Help!” and the title track (and current single), “Come See About Me,” closes the collection with an inspired ensemble cry for the weary, the frightened, the discouraged and the lost.

From stellar vocal performances to applauded musicianship, the album offers a master class in Bluegrass and the credits (which should be read carefully) are a “Who’s Who” of the genre’s best.

The Mountain Home Family will be performing a set called “The TRUST” at the Red Hat Amphitheater Stage Friday, September 28 at 4 p.m. during the IBMA 2018 World of Bluegrass in Raleigh to celebrate the release of this album and support the cause of the IBMA Trust Fund. Artists performing songs from the album include: Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Balsam Range, Lonesome River Band, Chris Jones & The Night Drivers, Donna Ulisse, Sideline and Love Canon.
