Dolly Parton on CBS

Dolly Parton to Appear on “CBS News Sunday Morning” this Sunday, February 10th

We’ve been singing along for decades with Dolly Parton, the poor girl from the Great Smoky Mountains who became the glitzy queen of country glamour. She’s still at it 24/7, still writing her legacy one song at a time, without a thought for the “R” word. Tony Dokoupil talked with the entertainer, who has sold more than 100 million albums, and who is the Grammys’ 2019 MusiCares Person of the Year for her charity work.
The episode airs on CBS at 9am EST / 8am CST — check your local listings for airtimes in other time zones.

Beverly Wilshire

By Alexandria Baiz x Reid Urban x Vaughn Lowery

When you first step into the iconic hotel, you are met with fresh seasonal flowers, chandeliers, and the warm setting of pure luxury.

The Beverly Wilshire, built in 1928, is located at the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills in one of the most famous cities in the world. This timeless hotel has housed some of the most notable people and presidents, as well as being used as a shooting location for films and television series. The groundbreaking film “Pretty Woman” gave the Beverly Wilshire its most profound feeling of promiscuity and glamour.

The grand hotel of 14 floors includes 395 variety of rooms and 137 suites suited for whatever occasion or stay one is looking for. The rooms, some as casual as the Signature Balcony room or the One-Bedroom Rodeo Suite, is perfect for a getaway weekend with great space and comfort. Bathrooms are notable for the marble floors and adjacent glass showers. The hotel is classified as a wrap around with great panoramic views of the Hollywood Hills and Los Angeles area. Although prices vary from date and size, the typical stay in a one bedroom suite is around one thousand dollars. For a longer stay, there are specialty suites like the Penthouse Suite or Presidential Suite, with a sentiment of royalty that includes multiple bedrooms and extensive dining rooms. Varying on the room, the impressive amenities include a round-the-clock concierge team and in-room dining. Also amenities include overnight shoeshine, complimentary newspaper, and much more. The team at the Beverly Wilshire works extremely hard to make your stay as charming and comfortable as possible.

Aside from the rooms, the hotel itself includes modern centers of activities and on-site restaurants. The chic spa that customers rave about offers every service you can think of like face and body treatments with five star treatments, even those specifically for men and kids. The modern pool is blue and beautiful, and for a bite or a glass of wine by the pool you can eat at “The Pool Bar and Cafe“. Overlooking the pool is the fitness center, to stay in shape and feeling your best, with an assortment of different state of the art machines and private yoga classes.

The onsite sleek restaurants, like the high ranking “CUT” by Wolfgang Puck has amazing reviews and ratings on their unique cuts of beef and seafood prepared in a live open kitchen. Our stay included handcrafted cocktails from the Cut Lounge, our favorites being Johnnie Walker Blue on the rocks and Sloppy Kisses. The “Blvd” inside the hotel is a perfect spot we had for brunch offering an original selection like the divine shrimp cocktail appetizer with Chilean sea bass and short rib patty “Blvd Burger” for lunch. With all the activities and dining, the Beverly Wilshire suits everyone.

As a result of the city’s location in the most glamorous city in the world, it is within an arm’s length of the affluent streets of Rodeo drive. Rodeo Drive is where you can find greatest brands like Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Jimmy Choo. This street also offers the finest dining in the region, whether you are in the mood for Indian cuisine or a fine steak. The Beverly Hills atmosphere, with the Beverly Wilshire in the middle of it all, define what class and beauty look like.

Ranked in the top 10 of Los Angeles hotels, this five-star hotel is known for its excellent customer service at every part of the stay. Ratings from AAA give the hotel 4.8 outstanding diamonds for its customer service, cleanliness, and overall appearance. Travelers speak highly of the modern decoration and style of the rooms, floors, bathrooms, and amenities. Competitors do not come close to the extensive care and allure of what the famous hotel offers. The Beverly Wilshire is not just a hotel, but an enchanting experience for all.

Horror Thriller “High Voltage”

SP Releasing will release writer/director Alex Keledjian’s horror thriller HIGH VOLTAGE, set within the gritty and competitive Los Angeles music scene, releasing in limited theaters and on-demand on Friday, October 19th through SP Releasing’s output deal with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The film will open in at least ten cities, including New York City, Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, Detroit, and more, and will also be available on all major digital platforms same day. DVD and Blu-Ray release will follow November 20th.

Written, produced and directed by Alex Keledjian (Project Greenlight; FEAST), the film stars David Arquette (SCREAM 1-4; EIGHT LEGGED FREAKS), Allie Gonino (The Red Road; GEOGRAPHY CLUB), Perrey Reeves (Entourage; OLD SCHOOL), and Luke Wilson (OLD SCHOOL; Roadies).

A struggling rock band, led by washed-out rock star Jimmy Kleen (Arquette), strikes a deal with cynical record executive Rick (Wilson). Things take a sinister turn when the band’s lead singer, Rachel (Gonino), and her controlling stage mother, Barb (Reeves) both get struck by lightning and killed. Rachel is brought back to life, but she is different than before: confident, sexy, with an irresistible stage presence. Lightning courses through her veins and she uses her new supernatural electrical powers to drain the life from men and turn it into electrifying stage performances. Her bandmates, including guitarist Scott (Donowho), discover her dark secret, and have to decide just how far are they are willing to let her go to help them succeed. As Jimmy says, “You can’t have rock n’ roll without electricity.”

HIGH VOLTAGE, formerly known as HOLLOW BODY, was produced by Michael D. Jones (CABIN FEVER; KILL THE IRISHMAN), Ryan Gibson (Stan Against Evil; Fear the Walking Dead), Dwjuan Fox (XX; ARMED) and Mitch Waxman (FREAKS). The film is also making a world premiere festival debut at the first-ever Film Fest 919 (http://filmfest919.com), taking place October 3-7 in Chapel Hill, NC.

HIGH VOLTAGE is a mashup of genres combining horror, thriller, musical, and noir into a bloody and beautiful rock n’ roll fantasy. Industry vet Keledjian, creator of Project Greenlight—no stranger to behind-the-scenes drama—also wrote the rocking soundtrack: “The script and the score are based on my experiences of living and working in Hollywood, and the scope and spectacle of film is the perfect vehicle to tell this story. SP Releasing just ‘got’ that, and is releasing it in theaters, which for me is a dream come true.”

Shot in luscious anamorphic widescreen, with vivid colors and extreme angles, the film drapes a golden sheen over the seedy business of show, slowly piercing the veil of the glamour of Hollywood and revealing the broken dreams, dark secrets, and unholy pacts that power the klieg lights.

SP Releasing chairman and CEO Steven Paul, whose previous credits include Marvel’s GHOST RIDER and Paramount’s GHOST IN THE SHELL, is thrilled to partner with the filmmakers for the US release of the picture. He says, “[Alex] Keledjian brought together a wealth of cast and crew, and their efforts have resulted in a powerful movie, with a relevant story, and we couldn’t be prouder to be a part of the journey.” The deal was negotiated for Keledjian by David Pierce of Pierce Law Group, LLC, and Jason Price on behalf of SP Releasing.

SP Releasing’s recent theatrical release slate includes the adaptation of The New York Timesbestseller THE PIRATES OF SOMALIA, staring Evan Peters and Al Pacino; the western-thriller THE SCENT OF RAIN & LIGHTNING with Maika Monroe (It Follows) and Maggie Grace (Lost); and the drama-thriller MADTOWN, toplined by This is Us star Milo Ventimiglia.

VAUGHN

Vaughn Lowery’s heart pumps passion and produces positive change. His career has taking him from the humble beginnings in Detroit, to a full scholarship to Cornell University where he became active in modeling, acting and producing screenplays to now where he is the Publisher and Founder of one of the leading fashion and lifestyle magazines of today.

Vaughn won over television audiences when he appeared in Kmart’s smash hit Joe Boxer commercial, dancing his self-titled “Boxer Boogie” wearing nothing but his Joe Boxer underwear. With this “brief” appearance, Vaughn Lowery a.k.a “Joe Boxer,” soon became a household name and appeared with Leeza Gibbons on “Extra”, Katie Couric on “Today Show”, and Jay Leno on “Tonight Show” boogieing down with them performing his signature dance. According to the Detroit Free Press, Vaughn’s ‘Boxer Boogie’ has paid off, helping Kmart sell roughly $20 million in Joe Boxer apparel a week.” The first year he was responsible for them selling over $1.5 billion of duds, besting Martha Stewart’s launch year with over $500 million in sales.

The Detroit native embarked on an acting and modeling career during a trip to New York City when renowned make-up artist Sam Fine, set him up with a fashion photographer, Fadil Berisha. Before his appearance as “Joe Boxer” Vaughn worked as a successful print model for such companies as Gap, Target, Skechers, Old Navy, Bath & Body Works Fragrance, Nordstrom and Mark Ecko, while also working as a runway model for Tommy Hilfiger, Phat Farm and Karl Kani. He has also graced the pages of FHM (SA), URB Magazine and Glamour.

Vaughn continues to be busy in the media. A few years back, ABC News “Primetime” aired a segment chronicling his life along with the tragic John Ritter story. Vaughn also has filmed a Super Bowl commercial; completed a high-profile Dasani Water billboard ad campaign; appeared on “Top Model, “where he stirred up some controversy; guest-starred on the comedy, “Scrubs;” and screened his controversial 35mm festival film, “The Young & Evil,” at Sundance 2009, which was nominated for Cardiff’s Iris Prize within the same year. In addition, he was also named “17 Hot Guys” by Seventeen Magazine.

His next endeavor is the film, “The Company We Keep” (directed by Roy Campanella), where he plays a fast-talking manager within the record industry, Barry. Also, Vaughn is in the mist of producing a short film “Chasen Life” which won a writing competition; elongating his iTunes audio book, “Say Uncle”, into a feature length film and pitching his third reality series. Moreover, he’s in the process of establishing 360 Fest, a film festival which will introduce and screen some of the most provocative short and features in the world.

Outside of Vaughn Lowery’s entertainment endeavors, Vaughn has always determined to give back and continues to keep his personal promise to be a contributing citizen to those in need. He has lent his name and support to: Women At Risk; HRC (Human Right’s Commission); March of Dimes; HOLA (Heart of Los Angeles Youth); and schools across the nation where he encourages kids to be their best. Furthermore, Vaughn serves as the Brand Ambassador for both Falling Whistles (supports war-affected kids in the Congo) and Pink United (Breast Cancer Awareness). He sits on the board of AYM (Awakening Young Minds), a nonprofit organization which conducts emotional education workshops for troubled youth.

Vaughn Lowery’s talents are only overshadowed by his winning personality, infectious smile and his ability to capture hearts as one of the most engaging and approachable individuals in the entertainment industry.

Q × A

How do you feel to be considered a fashion icon?

  • The reality is that I conquered every single thing by hard work. There is no better feeling than being recognized, seen, and heard. It means that my message is getting out there louder and louder. Fashion to me is a way to wrap your soul. I love that women and men can look at me to be inspired by who I am, inside and out. I believe this is what makes you a fashion icon.

When you were younger, was there a pivitol moment where you knew fashion would be your life calling?

    • When I was 16 and was told that I had the body of a model I remember having butterflies in my stomach. I looked at myself in the mirror and said: “One day you will be a top model”. That was my childhood dream. A pure dream that simply means to strive to be the best of the best. Being recognized today as such gives me the strength to keep on working. The beautiful part is that I get inspired everyday by my mentor, Daisaku Ikeda, knowing for a fact that there is no limit to going beyond yourself. I am looking forward to see myself in 5 years. The “no” are there, many times they are stronger than the yes. When they hit me however I know I need to surpass them.

Lastly, who or what influences your current style now? And who are your current favorite brands?

      • Instagram is my beyond imagination source of inspiration. We dictate trends. Things that we wore months before make it onto the catwalks the following season. This happens all the time with many amazing influencers. Brands are watching us now to pick up inspiration: this is the concrete signal that social media has changed an industry. I am an Italian soul and body, I adore Gucci and Fendi. I take joy in discovering new international brands and selecting the best out of them such as Malika Rajani, Femme Sans Peur, Michelle Nicole. A big shout out to stylist Ninorta Malke for making me discover Dreams On Air, a New York City showroom with amazing innovative labels. As a fashion Influencer discovering the new, seeing their vision, mission, and love gives me so much motivation. Keep on being YOU.

      GRETA CONSTANTINE SS18 PRESENTATION

On September 6, the GRETA CONSTANTINE SS18 NYFW PRESENTATION, took place. The presentation featured Greta Constantine’s  KIRK PICKERSGILL and STEPHEN WONG joined by TAMI WILLIAMS, FRANCESCA CURRAN, NAKI DEPASS, and more The show, celebrated 10 years of their womenswear label Greta Constantine with a Canadian-Girl-Gang invasion of New York Fashion Week.

Many looks were present among them,  an Orange silk tulle FAUSTINO dress with chain strap detail, Multi-colour asymmetrical sequin MARSHALL jacket, Black silk tulle DANIELE crinoline; and a Blue sequin TRIXIE bolero with black silk wool trim detail, Green silk tulle FAUSTINO dress with tube style straps, Black silk tulle DANIELE crinoline.

      ABOUT GRETA CONSTANTINE

CAFA 2016 Womenswear Designer of the Year winner Greta Constantine is an accessible luxury line of ready-to-wear womenswear based in Toronto, Canada. Designers Kirk Pickersgill and Stephen Wong, considered the “jersey boys of Toronto,” have rapidly accumulated a clientele comprised of international socialites and celebrities alike. The label itself is derived from the combination of the name of Stephen’s mother, Greta, with that of Kirk’s grandfather, Constantine. The pair works together in their Toronto area studio — conceptualizing, exploring, and challenging the fashions of today for the women of tomorrow.

The inevitable product of their focus on the female form is design emboldened by sexuality. Yet sexuality and femininity more generally, are socially constructed in a dichotomous manner: ladylike or seductive; prim and pretty or body-skimming and revealing. However, for Pickersgill and Wong, these dichotomies mustn’t be treated as mutually exclusive properties. In the elegantly seductive world of Greta Constantine, it’s not surprising to see a backless top paired with a flared, midi-length skirt or a boxy, ruffle hem sleeveless dress that barely grazes mid-thigh in a shade of salmon, no less. And while the dresses themselves may be constricting to the female form, there’s something truly freeing about wearing a piece that is equal parts matron and vixen. After all, sometimes you just want to be both.

Celebrity fans of Greta Constantine include: TARJI P. HENSON, JESSICA BIEL, KARLIE KLOSS, OLIVIA WILDE, MARY J. BLIGE, RITA ORA, MILEY CYRUS, LANA DEL REY, COCO ROCHA, LEIGH LEZARK, YARA SHAHIDI, MICHELLE MONAGHAN, ALLISON WILLIAMS, ALESSANDRA AMBROSIO, GRACE MAHARY, ERIN MORIARTY, LESLIE MANN, FRIEDA PINTO, TATIANA MASLANY, NICOLE RICHIE, and more. Greta Constantine has graced the pages of British Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Elle, Essence, Fashion Magazine, Flare Magazine, Glamour, InStyle, Marie Claire, Maxim Magazine, Us Weekly, WWD, and more…

Greta Constantine is currently at the following retailers; Lord & Taylor, Kleinfeld, Etoile La Boutique, Harrods and Holt Renfrew in addition to select independent retailers worldwide including 24Fab in Spain, Andrews in Canada, Covet in Ireland, Edition-K in Austria, Etre in Saudi Arabia, Per Lei Couture in Qatar, Piaff in Lebanon, and The Pretty Committee in Mexico.
