Carnage Ramps Up his Hunt in ‘WEB OF VENOM: FUNERAL PYRE’

‘ABSOLUTE CARNAGE’ is set in motion this July!

Cletus Kasady is kicking off his murder spree before ABSOLUTE CARNAGE arrives this August! And the trail of bodies will first pile up in July’s WEB OF VENOM: FUNERAL PYRE!

For weeks, serial killer Carnage has been hunting former symbiote hosts and killing them. Next in the crosshairs of his inky tendrils is Andi Benton, formerly Mania, who’s back to living in Philadelphia and without any symbiote to save her…

“When I took this project, I warned Editorial that it was going to be vicious and bloody and cruel.,” said writer and Mania co-creator Cullen Bunn. “I’m leaning into Carnage’s horror vibe here. This is absolutely a horror story, with Andi as the hero and Carnage as the unstoppable killer.”

With terror and throat-gripping action, this utterly alien thriller will mark only the beginning of Carnage’s insatiable bloodlust.

MONICA MARTIN RELEASES NEW SINGLE “PATIENT”

LISTEN HERE

“(Monica Martin) examines the cruelty of denial and staying in a broken relationship.” – NPR

[Of “Thoughtless”] “a low-key and ultra-cool track” – NYLON

“She is definitely One To Watch.” – Idolator

“Martin is both evocative and sinfully infectious to listen to.” – EARMILK

“[“Cruel” is] a promising first solo step for an already established indie-pop voice.” – Ones To Watch

Today, Chicago-born and Los Angeles-based songstress Monica Martin releases her new single “Patient” via Republic Records.

“Patient” exclusively premiered on Consequence of Sound, who said, “The track finds the former PHOX frontwoman trying to find strength in pushing a loved one away while pop piano melodies sadly sway under constantly building alt-folk orchestration.” The song, produced by Jon Green (James Bay, Paloma Faith) and featuring noteworthy musician Ian Fitchuk (producer of Kacey Musgraves’ Grammy Award-winning album Golden Hour), marries acoustic guitars and steady beats. Blurring the lines between pop, alternative and folk, the lyrics evoke an emotional plea, “You’re going to have to be patient with me.” “Patient” follows her previously released singles “Thoughtless” and “Cruel.”

Of the track Monica Martin notes, “We all are on respective journeys to unpack mental baggage and needing to create that space while in a relationship can be really tough…especially when someone wants to feel needed, you can be perpetually soothed, and while that feels great and all, that limits you from forging healthy mental pathways for yourself. ‘Patient’ is a song asking for space; I want to be my best so my relationship isn’t about co-dependence.”

Kicking off what promises to be a breakout year, Monica continues to attract widespread critical praise. The 405 recently praised her “songwriting that’s undeniably truthful,” meanwhile, Flaunt claimed, “Her bewitched alto resonance sets a mood while lyrics document her inner confusions from past and present relationships.”

Monica Martin has bewitched listeners everywhere with a quirky and quixotic take on pop since 2012. She fronted PHOX as the group became an indie phenomenon whose resume included prime festival spots and late-night television appearances. She joined forces with Jeremy Larson of Violents in 2017 to release Awake And Pretty Much Sober and relocated to Los Angeles to begin work on her own project later that year. She has attracted acclaim from NPR, The New York Times, Consequence of Sound and more. Her debut single, “Cruel,” produced by notable British producer Eg White (Adele, Florence & The Machine, Sam Smith), set the stage for more music in 2019.
