From cities that may be closer to home to exciting overseas destinations, these are some of the top places to visit in 2019.
Auckland, New Zealand
The vibrant capital city of New Zealand recently became one of just 31 cities that are part of the UNESCO Creative Cities network for music. This trending travel destination is home to many of the nation’s renowned artists and institutions. No matter when you visit you can expect to find fabulous live tunes and there’s likely to be a music festival or special event to enjoy too. Visitors can also look forward to the famous panoramic vistas from the iconic Sky Tower and exploring countless museums like the Auckland Art Gallery, the largest art institution in the country featuring more than 15,000 works of historic, modern and contemporary art.
The Windy City has been popping up on lists of top travel destinations everywhere in recent years, and for good reason. It’s one of America’s top foodie cities, with high quality dishes served at all price points from deep dish pizza to hot dogs and fine dining at the two Michelin-starred Acadia. Chicago is also home to one of the world’s greatest museums, the Art Institute of Chicago and five pro sports teams: the MLB’s White Sox and Cubs, the NFL’s Bears, the NHL’s Blackhawks and the NBA’s Chicago Bulls making it easy to catch a game just about anytime of the year. There’s so much to do in this midwestern city you might just find yourself browsing through Chicago real estate looking for your next new home.
Buenos Aires, Argentina
Buenos Aires is a place everyone should visit at least once and 2019 may be one of the best times to check this Argentinian city off your travel bucket list. Airfares are lower than ever thanks to low-cost carriers and emerging airlines, and the dollar is incredible strong against the Argentinian peso too, making that famously tasty Malbec more affordable than ever. Look forward to walking through the delightful pedestrian areas and watching tango dances in the streets as you explore the wealth of wine bars, cafes and steakhouses.
There are two important anniversaries in Berlin that will be marked in 2019, including the 30-year anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall and the centenary of the Bauhaus, with its festival held from January 16 to January 24. Stroll through Berlin Mitte, the historical heart of the city. and you’ll be able to check out many of its top sites like the Brandenburg Gate, the iconic symbol of Berlin that symbolizes the reunification of the West and East. If you visit in September, the weather is not only likely to be ideal, but you can attend the Lollapalooza Berlin, hosted on September 8 and 9 in 2019. It’s sure to bring plenty of big-name artists – last year’s lineup included headliners like Imagine Dragons and Liam Gallagher. It also features an open-air art gallery, street theater, wine bars and a festival for kids.
Sting and Shaggy are excited to unleash the official video for ‘Gotta Get Back My Baby’ today featuring Golden Globe-nominated actor Steven Bauer (Scarface/Breaking Bad) and directed by Michael Garcia. The track appears on Sting & Shaggy’s collaborative album 44/876 (Cherrytree/A&M/Interscope Records), which to date has spent sixteen weeks atop Billboard’s Reggae chart. Watch the video HERE.
Set in Miami and inspired by the hilarity and hijinks of classic buddy-cop TV shows and films, the light-hearted video sees the pair playing detectives reporting to their police Captain (Bauer) and partnering up for a host of frenzied action and stunts on a mission to find Roxy, a dangerous fugitive, in an exhilarating visual that encapsulates the spirit of the duo’s compelling and dynamic partnership.
The track, co-produced by Teflon (Wyclef Jean, Fat Joe, Ruff Ryders) and Martin Kierszenbaum (Sting, Mylène Farmer, Lady Gaga), appears on Sting and Shaggy’s chart-topping, island-inspired album, 44/876 (Cherrytree/A&M/Interscope Records), which debuted at #1 in Germany and has reached Gold status in both France and Poland.

Hailed “one of the most anticipated concerts of the year” and “a reggae rock dance party that never lets up,” Sting & Shaggy are currently on the road with their 44/876 Tour in North America, before heading to South America later this month in October and Eastern Europe in November. For complete tour itinerary, please visit: www.sting.com/tour.
While in the US, Sting is currently at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and No. 2 on Billboard’s Hot 100 with JuiceWRLD’s “Lucid Dreams” which samples “Shape of My Heart,” written by 16-time Grammy Award winner, Sting and his longtime guitarist, Dominic Miller.
Growing from a single day Miami-based festival into a global company and the biggest live brand in rap music, Rolling Loud’s success embodies the spirit of Hip-Hop. In September, Rolling Loud founders Matt Zingler & Tariq Cherif hosted Rolling Loud Bay Area 2018. Headlined by turn-up titan Travis Scott and Taylor Gang ringleader Wiz Khalifa, the artist roster for Rolling Loud Bay Area was as star-studded as they come, boasting Hip-Hop heavy hitters like Rae Sremmurd, Pusha T, Gucci Mane, and Kevin Gates, local heroes like E-40, IAMSU!, Kamaiyah, Mozzy, and P-Lo, XXL Freshmen like Trippie Redd, wifisfuneral and BlocBoy JB, and other rapidly rising stars, including Juice WRLD, Lil Baby, Yung Bans, Lil Skies, and Saweetie. Occurring over two days on the grounds of Oakland Coliseum, Rolling Loud Bay Area brought a blast of hyphy local energy that the rap game desperately needs.
Featuring a three day lineup and moving from Bayfront Park to Hard Rock Stadium, Rolling Loud Miami proved that bigger is better in 2018. With over 140 artists performing during an action-packed weekend, Rolling Loud Miami 2018 brought capacity crowds each day to the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens earlier this month. Headlined by J. Cole, Travis Scott & Future, Rolling Loud 2018 boasted performances from heavy-hitters like Migos and Lil Uzi Vert, veterans like N*E*R*D, The Diplomats and Juicy J, established names such as Young Thug, Big K.R.I.T., Young Dolph and Rick Ross, and risers like Playboi Carti, Lil Skies, Ski Mask The Slump God, Trippie Redd and many more. Founded by Matt Zingler and Tariq Cherif, recently the new subject of a feature in the Wall Street Journal, Rolling Loud continues to expand its profile as one of the most successful and valuable festival brands in the music business.
“Rolling Loud — which has rapidly become the most essential annual hip-hop festival — was the fire-hot center of the SoundCloud rap explosion last year”– The New York Times
“One of hip-hop’s biggest festivals” – The Wall Street Journal
“The country’s premier hip-hop festival” –Billboard
Rolling Loud Festival is one of rap’s premier music festival experiences. The festival was the brainchild of co-founders Tariq Cherif and Matthew Zingler, who began organizing shows in 2010. The two created Rolling Loud Festival in 2015 as a one-day festival for 6,000 attendees. Three years later, the festival’s Miami chapter has expanded into a three-day event, with the festival expanding worldwide in the coming year.

Tonight, Alison Wonderland will launch her summer U.S. headline tour with a sold-out show at the Ogden Theatre in Denver, CO. A second Denver show has been added on August 4. The run includes concerts at Seattle’s WaMu Theatre (August 10) and Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles (August 17). See below for itinerary. Tickets are available at alisonwonderland.com.
The outing follows Wonderland’s performances at numerous festivals. Run The Trap hailed her set at Belgium’s Tomorrowland as “a work of art, unforgettable.” Dancing Astronaut named her as one of the “artists you can’t miss at Spring Awakening” and ran this Q&A with Wonderland. The Chicago Tribune said, “Alison Wonderland, the only woman appearing on a main stage this year, ushered in the evening with a buoyant set that featured her singles ‘Church’ and ‘Easy.’ Billboard ranked her performance among the Top 5 Dance Highlights at Coachella and noted, “Wonderland came to the table with nothing but a home run on the menu.”
Naming her as one of the “breakout musicians ready to rock your summer,” Elle observed, ‘Wonderland’ punctuates lyrics about self-worth and self-care with soul-thumping beats.” She is touring in support of her sophomore album, AWAKE (Astralwerks), which entered Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart at No. 1 a feat she also accomplished with her self-titled 2015 debut album, Run.
Wonderland brought her writing and producing skills to each of AWAKE’s 14 tracks and was joined in the studio by a red-hot roster of collaborators, including Joel Little (Lorde), Illangelo (The Weeknd), Party Favor (Mad Decent) and long-time friend Lido. Features include Chief Keef on “Dreamy Dragon” and Trippie Redd on “High.”
One of the latest remixes from AWAKE is from Valentino Khan. One of EDM’s biggest names, Khan has collaborated with the likes of Diplo, Skrillex and Steve Aoki and regularly flips the biggest tracks from the world’s biggest stars. His thunderous remix of “Good Enough” pushes up the BPM to fever pitch, combining his impeccable production chops with the ghosts of UK bassline and hardcore. Check out Khan’s up for it, rave-ready remix of “Good Enough” HERE.
EDM Tunes praised London-based duo Billion’s ‘dance ready remix’ of “Easy.” Billion comprising Ed Butler and Robbie Lamond are known for their eclectic blend of garage, house and techno and have earned support from the BBC’s Skream, Annie Mac and Mistajam. Download / stream “Easy” (Billion Remix) HERE.
Kaivon who found his audience with a striking series of singles based on the theme of rebirth has also remixed “Easy.” In a track premiere, YourEDM.com said, “Kaivon keeps the emotional tone while pumping up the energy just a bit, turning the more ballad-like original into a future bass climax. It’s not hard to imagine the pyrotechnics that might accompany this track in a set, or the reaction from the crowd when it’s dropped.” Download / stream “Easy” (Kaivon Remix) HERE.

Following their explosive debut song “No One Defeats Us,” DREAMS have dropped their new track “Silence” today via Astralwerks. On the day of their first ever live performance at Coachella, “Silence” reveals a darker side and pulse to DREAMS, led by the brooding vocals of Daniel Johns. The duo also shares a striking video for the track, which can be viewed HERE.
Purchase or Stream “Silence” HERE.
A much-anticipated debut live set at Coachella this weekend promises high drama and a truly unmissable performance. The only band ever to be booked for the festival before releasing any music, the duo is the highest-billed Australian band. DREAMS will perform tonight at 8:40pm on the Mojave Stage. The duo will also perform next Friday, April 20. Fans can view their performance via the live stream on the Official Coachella YouTube Channel.
“Silence’ is a song which came to us after the Charlottesville riots. It broke our hearts to see the violence and hatred that occurred. We wanted this song to elevate the people, let their voices be heard, inspire them with courage and bravery.” Luke Steele (aka Miracle) says of the track. Daniel Johns (aka Dr Dreams), says “The live version is out of this world and we cannot wait to debut it at Coachella. »
DREAMS is the realization of a long-time friendship and musical kinship between these two iconic Australian artists. Daniel Johns is best known as the front man of Silverchair whilst the enigmatic Luke Steele fronts Empire of The Sun and The Sleepy Jackson. The artists first met in 2004 when Luke’s band The Sleepy Jackson supported Silverchair on their sold-out Diorama tour.
With over ten million albums sold worldwide and an undefeatable twenty-nine ARIA Awards won between both of their respective acts, the pedigree of Daniel and Luke’s new collaboration is unquestionable.
Since Silverchair’s debut release “Tomorrow” in 1994, Daniel has taken home a record twenty-one statues, the most of any Australian artist in ARIA history. Daniel has also won APRA Songwriter of the Year three times, and impressively, Silverchair is the only Australian act to have all of their studio albums, five in total, debut at #1 on the ARIA chart.
Sweeping the ARIAs clean in 2008 was Luke Steele’s Empire of the Sun, taking home gongs for Best Album, Best Single, Best Group and Best Pop Release. With a total of eight ARIAs and two APRA song writing awards to date, Empire of the Sun has gone from strength to strength internationally, including a spectacular sold out performance at Hollywood Bowl in 2015, in front of an audience of 17,000 US fans.
