SHERWOOD MARTY DROPS NEW SINGLE “DOIN MY THANG

Baton Rouge’s Sherwood Marty just released his latest single, “Doin My Thang.”

This follows his BRKRS music video “We Outchea,” which stemmed from his last mixtape, Stuck In The Trenches 1.5. Sherwood Marty first busted onto the scene in 2016 with his breakthrough mixtape, Stuck In The Trenches: Self Made Vol. 1, which featured an appearance from the late, Da Real Gee Money. Sherwood’s uncompromising rawness made records like, “Sherwood Baby” and “Ride” a huge success. Last year, Sherwood teamed up with breakout Bay Area/Alabama lyricist, OMB Peezy for their joint Young and Reckless mixtape, that received praise from Pitchfork, Pigeons and Planes, Hypebeast, XXL, Hot New Hip-Hop, Elevator Mag, Thizzler, and other outlets.

Moneybagg Yo and YoungBoy Never Broke Again Unite On Fed Baby’s Mixtape

Memphis rapper Moneybagg Yo and Baton Rouge rapper YoungBoy Never Broke Again have teamed up for Fed Baby’s, out today on N-Less Entertainment/ Never Broke Again LLC., distributed by Interscope Records. Fed Baby’s is available now at all DSPs HERE.

As told by Moneybagg Yo, the two rappers first worked together when Moneybagg was sent a song to add a verse to while YoungBoy Never Broke Again was serving a prison sentence earlier this year. Moneybagg hopped on the song and continued to hold YoungBoy down while he was incarcerated. After completing his sentence, the two connected on FaceTime and decided to work on a project together. The majority of the 14 song project was recorded during a week long session in Atlanta. The two then headed to LA to complete the final tracks.

Moneybagg Yo “The chemistry between us was natural. We come from the same place, just two different sides of the world. We both come from struggle so it’s easy to relate.”

The project comes on the heels of a whirlwind year for both breakout rappers. Moneybagg Yo’s Federal 3X, released on August 11, debuted at #5 on the Billboard 200 albums chart and has amassed over 120k in consumption units. The mixtape earned critical acclaim from The New York Times, praising Moneybagg Yo for “blend[ing] the tough and the comic with an intuitive gift for casually robust rhymes.” Meanwhile, Billboard noted that “Moneybagg’s ability to voice his harsh realities on paper is what makes him such an alluring act on the independent circuit.”

On August 4, current FADER cover star YoungBoy Never Broke Again, released Al YoungBoy, his first body of work since his release from prison which stands at over 198 million streams in the US. The mixtape landed at #2 on the iTunes Overall Albums chart and led The New York Times to call Youngboy Never Broke Again “one of the most promising young Southern rappers.” Currently on the road with 21 Savage for his Numb The Pain Tour, Rolling Stone featured YoungBoy Never Broke Again as one of their Artists You Need To Know For October 2017.
