SiriusXM today announced a new creative partnership with U2 to launch U2X RADIO, which will include a dedicated SiriusXM channel and exclusive content available only to SiriusXM subscribers and Pandora listeners. 

The announcement was made by U2, live from The Joshua Tree Tour stage at the Saitama Super Arena in Tokyo, Japan, with a cut-in from frontman Bono to Howard Stern on his SiriusXM channel “Howard 100,” which saw the tour’s massive 200×40 ft screen light up with a video tribute to radio ahead of a live performance of the band’s hit ‘Elevation’. A simultaneous stream by U2 on Facebook Live allowed fans around the world to hear the news of U2X RADIO as it happened.  

U2 has sold more than 170 million records worldwide and has won 22 Grammy awards, more than any other band or group. Their most recent album ‘Songs Of Experience’ (2017) debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, setting the recently declared “Artist Of The Decade” (Pollstar Magazine) apart as the only band in history to have topped the chart in four successive decades, including eight albums that reached number one in the U.S.

VOLBEAT DEBUTS NEW MUSIC VIDEO FOR “DIE TO LIVE (FEAT. NEIL FALLON)”

Today, multi-platinum Danish rock band Volbeat debut their new music video for “Die To Live (feat. Neil Fallon)” directed by Adam Rothlein at Ghost Atomic Pictures and taped at Futura Studio in Roslindale, MA. The song and video both feature appearances by Clutch’s lead singer Neil Fallon, as well as Raynier Jacob Jacildo and Doug Corcoran of JD McPherson’s band. Said Neil Fallon about taping the video “A couple of months ago I flew up to Boston to meet up with Volbeat to film the video for their new single, Die to Live.  It was a breeze to make, maybe four hours.  It’s a catchy straight-ahead rocker of a song and I am flattered to have been asked to participate.” Michael Poulsen, lead singer of Volbeat, added: “We were thrilled to be able to get Neil, Raynier and Doug together with us in the same room to shoot this video, and we’re really proud of how it came out. The second leg of the band’s Rewind, Rebound, Replay World Tour began this past Wednesday in Warsaw, and fans who attended last night’s show at Berlin’s Mercedes Benz Arena got an early first look at the video. The band will close out 2019 with sold out shows across Europe, and have recently announced new dates in early 2020. Full info and tickets for remaining dates can be found here.
 
The band recently released their seventh studio album Rewind, Replay, Rebound. For the album, Volbeat— Michael Poulsen (guitars/vocals), Rob Caggiano (guitars), Kaspar Boye Larsen (bass), and Jon Larsen (drums) —build upon the distinct, psychobilly, punk-tinged rock ‘n’ roll sound they are known for, while reaching for new creative summits. “The whole point for us going into the studio, is because you still have something to prove — not just for the fans, but mostly for yourself,” says Poulsen. “We would not be able to do this record if it wasn’t for the work we have done in the past. No matter how old the band gets or how many records we do, there is always going to be that signature sound.” Rewind, Replay, Rebound is available on all formats here, including a 2 CD deluxe edition, a special deluxe edition box set, and transparent and blue colored vinyl, numbered and limited to 1,000 copies each.

At this point in their already storied career, Volbeat have opened for Metallica, Motorhead and Slipknot, garnered a 2014 Best Metal Performance Grammy nomination for “Room 24” and won multiple Danish Music Awards. For this album, they mine their own personal histories and that of their genre. The song “When We Were Kids” finds Volbeat ruminating on immortality and innocence we all naively experience in our youth, while “Rewind the Exit” and “Die to Live” both explore how the pursuit of perfection can be a hollow goal.

Rewind, Replay, Rebound was produced by long-time collaborator Jacob Hansen and co-produced by Rob Caggiano and Michael Poulsen. This marks the first studio album with Kaspar Boye Larsen on bass. To achieve the album’s sound the band also drew upon a myriad of guests including backing vocalist Mia Maja and the Harlem Gospel Choir, who both return after appearing on 2016’s Seal The Deal & Let’s Boogie. Clutch vocalist Neil Fallon is featured on “Die to Live,” a collaboration that is the result of the bands touring together and a love for the singer’s gruff and powerful style. Raynier Jacob Jacildo (piano) and Doug Corocran (saxophone) of JD McPherson’s band also lend their talents to the song.

Ultimately, Volbeat have not lost their passion to create and progress. It’s that which keeps them hungry — and musically honest on the new album.

VOLBEAT emerged from Copenhagen in 2001. Since then, they’ve tirelessly clawed their way to hard rock’s upper echelon with endless touring and a string of six beloved full-length albums. Recently, their 2010 album Beyond Hell/Above Heaven, which features hit singles “A Warrior’s Call” and “Heaven Nor Hell,” received RIAA Gold Certification. 2013’s Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies bowed at #9 on the Billboard Top 200 upon release marking the highest U.S. chart entry for a Danish Act since 1997 until the band’s 2016 album Seal The Deal & Let’s Boogie topped it by debuting at #4. Most recently the band released Let’s Boogie! The song, which debuted on the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast show yesterday, opens the WHO album and Pete Townshend describes it as ‘A song is dedicated to every artist who has ever been accused of ripping off someone else’s song. Seriously? Our musical palette is limited enough in the 21st Century without some dork claiming to have invented a common chord scheme’.


The Who has one of the greatest rock legacies in music history, they’re one of the all-time great live bands, have sold over 100 million records worldwide including 9 US & 10 UK top ten albums and 14 UK top ten singles in a career spanning six decades.
Now Fifty-five years after they made their first recordings, The Who is back with their first new album in thirteen years entitled WHO due for release on December 6, 2019.


The eleven-track album was mostly recorded in London and Los Angeles during Spring and Summer 2019 and was co-produced by Pete Townshend & D. Sardy (who has worked with Noel Gallagher, Oasis, LCD Soundsystem, Gorillaz) with vocal production by Dave Eringa (Manic Street Preachers, Roger Daltrey, Wilko Johnson).


Singer Roger Daltrey and guitarist and songwriter Pete Townshend are joined on the album by long-time Who drummer Zak Starkey, bassist Pino Palladino along with contributions from Simon Townshend, Benmont Tench, drummers Carla Azar and Joey Waronker, bass player Gus Seyffert and Gordon Giltrap.


The album cover has been created by famed pop artist, Sir Peter Blake who first met the band in 1964 at a taping of the legendary TV show Ready Steady Go. Sir Peter designed and contributed a painting to the sleeve of The Who’s album Face Dances in 1981.


The songs on WHO cover a myriad of subjects including the Grenfell Tower fire, musical theft, spirituality, reincarnation, the power of memory and ‘an old rock star that has lost his marbles’. Singer Roger Daltrey rates it amongst their strongest “I think we’ve made our best album since Quadrophenia in 1973, Pete hasn’t lost it, he’s still a fabulous songwriter, and he’s still got that cutting edge”.

After their triumphant return to Wembley Stadium in the Summer, the band will be embarking on a UK tour featuring a full orchestra in Spring 2020, the dates are listed below.

On the heels of their highly successful and widely talked about performance at the ICON Awards in Colombia on June 13th, the fast rising international Pop/Latino/Underground group Monsieur Job will be performing alongside some of the industry’s top artists including Wisin & Yandel, Greecy, Cosculluela, Choquibtown and Arthur Hanlon at the Colombia Billboard Latin Music Showcase on Friday July 26th at the Movistar Arena in Bogota. Last year, the Billboard Latin Music Showcase was held for the first time in Bogota, where Colombian artists such as Manuel Medrano, Maia and Gusi, among others performed.

Toby Holguin lives music and gives music life. It was Toby’s vision to create Monsieur Job, a band that will rock you make you move your feet. The band, whose name is derived from “Job” of the bible; a righteous man who is tested by God, enduring many tragedies and hardships while struggling to remain faithful – will make you cry with passion. Formed by Holguin from Cali, Colombia, a beautiful place high in the mountains above the clouds. Toby then asked Charlie Illera from Barranquilla, Colombia, and Leo Jaramillo from Bogota, Colombia to become one musically as Monsieur Job. All of them live and breathe their own style of music combined they are Monsieur Job. Toby, Leo and Charlie spin records as DJs constantly for different pools and venues around the world. Moreover, Toby had the idea to start doing Urban Music besides Chill Out and Electronic Music, which is the vision that created the album “Bass Passi”. They started dropping broken beats with a more festive, shaky, groovy Caribbean Latin flavor turning it into an international exclusive mash up of world talents and a unique blend of genres.

For their debut release, Chow Chow Eyyy Pow Pow, the record has hit the Euro Indie Music Chart at #1 for 9 consecutive weeks as well as progressive singles; “Kick it” Remix feat. Charly Black, “Pica Pica”, Niña Shake Your Body” feat. No Mercy & Vojke Djans and “Chilliando Hangueando” feat. Cholo reaching the #1 position as well, the Digital Radio Tracker Top 10, and Top 200 for Best Albums, #2 for the Billboard Latin Rhythm Albums Chart, and the Billboard Top 10 Heatseekers Albums Chart for their album “Bass Passi”. This album was recorded in Bogota and Miami at Basswalk Studios, Outta Limits Studios in Miami, and Barba Studios in Belgrade and mastered at Sterling Studios, New York.

Local Natives Concert Review

On Saturday night, a five-piece-indie-rock band, Local Natives brought the energy to the Palladium with their symphonic tones, unique instrumentals, and airy soft lyrics. The LA native band played multiple songs throughout the night from their new album Violet Streets. This album explores adulthood, love, and friendships.

The band opened the show with a piece called “Vogue” from their album Violet Streets. The band then quickly livened up the audience by singing one of their older songs, “Sun Hands” in which lead singer, Taylor Rice jumped into the sea of screaming fans to crowd surf. 

The fans continued screaming throughout the show, especially once the band played the song, “Fountains of Youth”, which was a song released in November of 2016, right before the elections took place. 

The group finished their set with the song “When Am I Gonna Lose You”, which lead singer, Rice, explained was an ode to love. As the LA native boy band announced their last song, the crowd was in tears. The phrase “encore” could be heard from miles away. The band came back on to perform a few more songs until they had to say their last goodbye.

Complete with stunning light shows, seamless transitions, and phenomenal vocals, the Local Natives seemed to impress the crowd.
