20-year-old electronic producer Surf Mesa follows his smash hit “ily (i love you baby)” ft. Emilee with a new single, “Somewhere” ft. Gus Dapperton, released today.
“The bittersweet track melds elements of electronic, alt-indie and left-of-center pop, offering a wistful look back at an ill-fated relationship,” a press release reads. The video captures Surf’s trademark summer vibes as it follows him on a day trip to the Southern California desert with members of LA girl skateboard crew GRLSWIRL and Loaded Skateboards in tow. Mara Whitehead (DeathbyRomy, Bright Eyes) directed the video and Ben Del Guercio (Bodysnatch) produced.
Surf Mesa’s breakthrough hit, “ily (i love you baby)” ft. Emilee, is now certified gold in the U.S. and only continues to reach new heights with global streams now surpassing 400 million. He also recently released his remix of Marshmello and Halsey’s smash hit “Be Kind”; which flips that power-ballad pulse into a tumble through side-chained synths and broken beats. Listen HERE.
Gus Dapperton has exceeded 100 million streams and sold 17,000 copies of his debut album, Where Polly People Go To Road. On top of that, he joined BENEE in “Supalonely,” garnering 50 milion streans in the U.F. alone.
