Bravo’s Project Runway announces Shantall Lacayo from Miami is the winner after a breathtaking fashion show in last night’s season finale. In addition to being crowned the top designer, Shantall took home the grand prize of $250,000 supplied by Pilot FriXion Erasable Pens, returning for its third season as the Official Pen of “Project Runway,” and a feature in ELLE magazine. Shantall will also participate in a career-changing mentorship with the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America), which will help give her all the tools and connections to create, grow, and sustain a business in fashion.
The remarkable season came to a historic conclusion with the first ever four women finalists presenting their collections during New York Fashion Week at Hudson Yards. The final designers, Chasity Sereal, Kristina Kharlashkina, Coral Castillo, and Shantall Lacayo presented collections of 10 looks, each hoping to impress their mentor, Christian Siriano, along with the judging panel: Nina Garcia, Brandon Maxwell, and guest judge Tommy Hilfiger. With a beautiful, eclectic “Heritage” collection inspired by her culture, Shantall captivated the judges and was crowned the winner at the end of the fashion show.
