Yung Raja has been dubbed as Southeast Asia’s next avant-garde bilingual hip hop artist known for his tasteful unification of English and Tamil lyricism. Over the weekend Yung Raja released another installment of a freestyle that showcases just this. Raja is a master wordsmith and elegantly switches between the languages backed against a trap beat that begs hitting the replay button. The dizzying freestyle comes off the back of his recently released single “Mami” which is also the Track of The Week by Yasser for BBC Asian Network. Alongside the freestyle, Yung Raja also uploaded an informational video “Shtambi Shterminology” where breaks down his everyday slang and Tamil phrases— one of the world’s oldest surviving languages
