Singer, songwriter and pianist, Peter Cincotti released his fifth studio album, Long Way From Home, today. In a departure from his past work, the 12-track album written, arranged and produced by Cincotti, blends genres into a style all his own, bringing active rhythmic piano playing back in the landscape of modern music.

The music video for the first single, “Made For Me” debuted on People.com last month. Peter will be touring in the US and Europe through winter, including two New York City shows, October 17th and November 14th at The Cutting Room.

Born in New York, Peter has performed in some of the world’s most prestigious venues from Carnegie Hall to L’Olympia in Paris, collaborated with artists ranging from Andrea Bocelli to David Guetta, has been featured in blockbuster films such as Spiderman 2, represented the global fashion brands Ermenegildo Zegna and Tod’s, and just recently appeared as himself in Season 3 of the hit Netflix series House Of Cards, singing a duet with the president played by Kevin Spacey.

“This much talent… may not even be legal.” —The New York Observer

Long Way Home was written, arranged, and produced by Cincotti over a two year period and is his most personal album to date. “Never before have I used the piano in this way. A few years ago, I began having these visions of an album that brings active, rhythmic piano playing back into the landscape of modern music,” said Cincotti. If you threw Billy Joel, Oscar Peterson, and One Republic into a blender, something close to this album would come out. Cincotti moved to the Jersey Shore to put this project together, of the experience he explains, “At one point, whenever I fell asleep, a new song would introduce itself in whatever dream I was having. So I’d wake up and write it down. Several songs on this album were written that way. It got to a point where I felt like I wasn’t even composing, I was just writing down what was already there.”
