20-year-old El Paso-native singer/songwriter Khalid is back with new track ‘Better’. Last month the Mayor and Council of the city of El Paso honored the multi-platinum global superstar with a “Key To The City” marking September 13th, 2018 “Khalid Day.” While in his hometown, Khalid performed two sold-out arena shows and dropped the new track ‘Better’ dedicated to his fans and the city of El Paso.
‘Better’ is already certified Gold and currently #6 on Spotify, #8 on Apple Music and #9 on the ARIA Singles Chart.
Khalid has performed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Good Morning America, and SXSW 2017 where he won MTV’s Woodie To Watch Award.
Last year, Khalid announced his second North American headlining tour called “The American Teen Tour”. Forever 21 also announced the launch of their Global Campaign featuring Khalid. became the face of Forever 21’s Summer Digital Campaign, #F21xMusic, and Men’s Line. Additionally, Khalid won the MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist; an award previously won by Justin Bieber, Fifth Harmony, Fetty Wap and more!
With major co-signs from Elton John to Kendrick Lamar, Khalid continues his industry take-over featuring on Calvin Harris’ latest single Rollin’ alongside Future. Khalid also features on Logic’s album which just debuted #1 in the US last year
Khalid was also nominated for FIVE Grammy Awards, including ‘Best New Artist’. He also took out 4th place in the BBC Sound of 2018 poll.
Khalid embarked on his debut Aus/NZ American Teen tour last November, playing sold out shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Auckland.
His debut single ‘Location’ is certified 3x Platinum, and previous singles ‘Young Dumb & Broke’ and ‘Silence’ are both certified 6x Platinum in Australia. His past single ‘Saved’ is certified Platinum. ‘Love Lies’ with Normani is certified 3x Platinum and ‘OTW’ with 6LACK & Ty Dolla $ign is 2x Platinum.
