Fresh off his newly minted VMA nomination for “my ex’s best friend,” Machine Gun Kelly embarks on his new journey this week. After announcing his sixth album, born with horns, via a tattoo posted to his social media on Monday, Machine Gun Kelly tapped renowned director Cole Bennett to helm Bennett’s first-ever rock video “papercuts” and the results prove excellent. The video will make its online debut on Cole Bennett’s Lyrical Lemonade Channel. There’s a black and white clip at the start that finds a bald and tattoo-less MGK riding down Sunset Boulevard in a motorcycle with horns. As he continues his expedition as rock’s newest superstar, MGK candidly acknowledges his constant struggles with fame and more. The “papercuts” video made its broadcast premiere on MTV Live, MTVU and the ViacomCBS Times Square billboard.

MGK’s upcoming album, born with horns, follows his 2020 platinum album, Tickets To My Downfall, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and received multiple awards, including an MTV VMA, Billboard Awards for “Top Rock Album” and “Top Rock Artist” and an iHeart Radio Award. Tickets To My Downfall has been called a “game changing record” by Nylon Magazine and W Magazine recently noted “the album’s outstanding commercial success has recalibrated the landscape of the music industry.” Travis Barker will serve as the project’s executive producer for the second consecutive album.
Last week, MGK delivered a surprise performance at Chicago’s Lollapalooza Festival. There, he performed “my ex’s best friend,” “bloody valentine,” and a cover of Paramore’s “Misery Business” for his ravenous fans. This fall, he will kick off his sold-out Tickets To My Downfall Tour, beginning September 9 in Minneapolis, MN, and concluding December 18 in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. So far in 2021, Tickets To My Downfall is the biggest rock album, according to MRC Data.
