KO Media is thrilled to unveil the February/March issue of ELLE Canada, featuring American pop sensation Lizzo front-and-centre. The singer who belts out fun-loving, body-positive tunes with her impressive classically trained voice is getting more personal and sharing her growth: “I don’t need to go on the internet to feel better about stuff anymore. I have a therapist. I have best friends. I have an amazing team around me who I can talk to. I got love.” She also tells us about trying to extend those good feelings to others through her music. “The end of lockdown [does not] signify the end of [people’s] mental-health struggles. So I wanted to make music that people could use as a soundtrack [that would help them] survive.”
In the style department, we look at how red-hot shades are all the rage, zero in on Marie-Philippe Thibault’s timeless bags, gawk at Mariah Carey’s diamond-studded Chopard collab, rummage through the allure of vintage haute couture, take a dive into runway-to-slopes winter gear and consider adding military-inspired pieces to make cold month wardrobes stand out. We also talk about a new fashion program that brings Canadian Indigenous Designers to the world stage.
We spoke to plenty of fearless on-screen queens: Sabrina Impacciatore of White Lotus fame, comic genius Sunita Mani playing opposite Ryan Reynolds in the film Spirited, beloved Canadian actor Karine Vanasse who is set to time-travel in the new Quebec drama Plan B, and Euphoria’s Sydney Sweeney all grace our pages, while the one and only Pamela Anderson lets us in on her side of a tumultuous life story. We go behind the scenes with celebrity makeup artist Pati Dubroff, and costume designer Patricia Field tells us about her new autobiography. Then, we take a hard look at Hockey Canada’s sexual assault accusations scandal and bid adieu to Top Chef favourite Fatima Ali who died at the age of 29 but left a food-loving legacy behind.
Since there’s no time to embrace self-care like when temperatures plunge below freezing, our editors bring readers the Elle International Beauty Awards 2023 with around-the-world picks. We learn how to get the best après-ski skin, examine the trend of getting semi-permanent freckles and explore how high-end Swiss cosmetics brand La Maison Valmont is sharing the beauty love. Taking a lifestyle turn, we give tips on how to fall in love with luxuriant baths, debunk pesky nutritional myths, and offer up escapes from the cold with a sustainable Maui getaway and a cognac tasting in France. Then, we check in on some relationship advice for successfully sharing finances and offer up a romantic book guide to curl up with as the snow falls.
The February/March issue of ELLE Canada will hit stands and Apple News+ on February 13, 2023.
