YouTube sensation, actress and singer Jordyn Jones has landed the lead role in the original series, “Overnights,” from digital network Brat. The initial five episodes will air on Brat’s YouTube channel, which has amassed over a million subscribers since this summer, and follows the making (and unmaking) of a garage band at Attaway High.
Jones stars as “Mack,” a spunky newcomer to town, along with singer/songwriter Daniel Skye, Brenna D’Amico (Disney’s “The Descendants”), Mekai Curtis (“Arrested Development”) and musician Marlhy Murphy. Original songs were composed and produced by Taylor Locke, formerly of the band Rooney. Mhair Zeitounian will executive produce, with Emily Meyer co-producing.
Brat is a new media network that features rising talent in coming-of-age productions. Created by the founders of Niche, a marketing company acquired by Twitter in 2015, Brat has raised $12.5 million, and recently surpassed 1 million subscribers on YouTube. Brat’s hit show Chicken Girls has garnered over 75 million views on YouTube.
Singer, actress, dancer, and model Jordyn Jones is a 17-year-old quadruple threat who has opened for acts such as Demi Lovato and DNCE. Her feature film DANCE CAMP most recently premiered, a teen-targeted feature film produced by Jon Chu and YouTube Red, which features her first original song “I’m Dappin.” Additionally, she has modeled for Steve Madden, Mudd Jeans, Guess among other brands. A social media force, Jones has more than 150 million views on YouTube and almost four million Instagram followers. Jones’ has procured lucrative brand deals as a result of her digital presence with companies such as Sprint, Invisalign, Hasbro, and 20th Century Fox, among others. Jordyn is currently in the studio recording original music.
