Up-and-coming Sydney DJ and producer Jesse Porsches releases the official video for his debut solo single, “The Weekend.” The glimmering dance pop jam enlists Sydney singer-songwriter Xavier Dunn on vocal duties (who himself had a breakout year in 2016 topping Spotify’s USA Viral Chart). A song about fleeting connection, acceptance of a short-lived love and a celebration that some relationships aren’t meant to be forever, “The Weekend” is a perfect anthem to send you running for the dancefloor.
The track’s release is accompanied by a new music video that was shot in Queensland’s stunning Burleigh Heads by the Jaen Collective video team. The clip echoes the fleeting moments of a young beachside romance and perfectly complements ‘The Weekend’ and its sweeping pop textures and Dunn’s ethereal vocals.
“We worked quite closely with the film crew across casting and locations to explore the themes visually. The video clip looks at a guy and girl who meet over a summer period, seemingly fall in love and then both move on with their lives.”
Collaboration has been key to the creative process and success for Jesse Porsches. After co-producing the track “Sleepless,” the debut single by the one-and-only Flume, Jesse started his first duo Porsches in 2015 with Carl Fox, penning the breakthrough hit “Horses.” Porsches went on to tour nationally, both as a live band and as DJs, performing alongside superstars like Skepta, Tkay Maidza, Booka Shade and Tensnake, as well as at festivals like Splendour In The Grass and Beyond The Valley.
2017 saw the launch of his second duo, Super Cruel, a dual producer project with Adelaide’s Tigerilla. Their first release “November,” featuring the inimitable vocals of Lisa Mitchell, instantly gained traction across national Australian radio and international streaming services online – further reinforcing Jesse’s reputation as having a Midas touch.
Fresh from performing at Splendour In The Grass as part of Super Cruel, Jesse steps into the spotlight as a solo artist in his own right with “The Weekend.” He has just announced a run of live club shows that take in Thredbo, Adelaide, Wollongong and NSW Central Coast with more dates to be announced.
