Today, Capitol Records released “NEVERMIND,” the first single and leadoff track from HRVY’s debut album, Can Anybody Hear Me? “NEVERMIND” sees HRVY set the stage for pop domination with the juddering electro-pop sound he’s been so passionately perfecting over the last two years.
Co-written with J Hart (Justin Bieber) and Pollack (Lauv), the new single is a burst of pitch-shifted vocals that echoes the dance floor melancholy of previous single “ME BECAUSE OF YOU,” which is also included on the album.
HRVY will perform “NEVERMIND” on Nickelodeon’s “All That,” airing tomorrow, July 25, at 9:00 PM/8:00 Central Time. HRVY said, “I wrote this song last summer with J Hart and Pollack, who have written some of my favorite songs of the last few years. I’m so pleased this track turned out how it did and that everyone can finally hear it and see how the new music on the album is going to sound.”
Set for release on August 28, the album also includes the global smash “Personal,” which is certified Gold in the U.S., plus recent releases “Unfamiliar” and “Be Okay” (with R3HAB).
Can Anybody Hear Me? illuminates the many sides of HRVY and his musical tastes. While the plaintive acoustic ballad “She Isn’t You” nods to old school boy bands like *NSYNC, the title track is a banger that is sure to go down a storm in a live scenario. “ME BECAUSE OF YOU” showcases a musician truly coming into his own, embraced by fans who are experiencing similar growing pains as they transition into adulthood.
HRVY’s quest to craft the perfect pop song is connecting with an astronomical audience worldwide, with 20,000 tickets already sold for his upcoming rescheduled world tour, which includes dates in the U.S., U.K., Europe, Asia and Australia. At just 21, HRVY is already a global star, having traveled the world and scoring collaborations with artists such as Korean supergroup NCT Dream, esteemed Norwegian DJ and The Vamps collaborator Matoma, Seeb and Goodboys and Cuban-born Latino sensation Malú Travejo. Wonderland said, “HRVY is undoubtedly one to watch” and GQ (Britain) noted, “HRVY is the whole pop star package.” He has 4.8 million Instagram followers, over 2.7 million YouTube subscribers, 1 million followers on Spotify and more than 1 billion combined streams to his name, including over 250,000 streams in the U.S. alone. 2018 saw HRVY perform his biggest ever UK headline gig at London’s Hammersmith Apollo and last year saw him performing at Radio 1’s Big Weekend, sharing the same stage as Mark Ronson, Miley Cyrus, Stormzy and Charli XCX – both proving to be landmark moments in the pop star’s career.
