Run Will Include September 21 Show At Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium And October 5 Concert At NYC’s Radio City Music Hall

How To Be A Human Being Shortlisted For UK’s Mercury Prize

Band Will Perform At Austin City Limits Festival On October 14

Glass Animals will launch their third North American headline tour of 2017 tomorrow, September 16, at Seattle’s WaMu Theater. The run includes a show at Los Angeles’ historic Shrine Auditorium (September 21) and the band’s first concert at Radio City Music Hall in New York City (October 5). Additional East Coast dates include shows at Agganis Arena in Boston (October 7) and the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC (October 8 & 9). Glass Animals will cap off the outing with a performance at Austin City Limits Festival on October 14. See below for itinerary. Tickets are available at http://glassanimals.eu/.

The band, which was shortlisted for the 2017 Mercury Prize, continues to pull out all the stops during its live performances. DIY Magazine, reviewing a 2017 show in London, said, “From the second frontman Dave Bayley bounds on stage with limitless energy, Brixton Academy is theirs, and the Oxford quartet proceed to give it one hell of a party.” The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette noted, “[the] band has honed its act at all the major festivals — Coachella, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Glastonbury, etc. — and it showed in the high energy that began as soon as it hit the stage with ‘Life Itself,’ the percussive dance track that opens the new, second album, ‘How to Be a Human Being.'”

A broken ankle couldn’t keep Bayley from crowd surfing during the band’s main stage set at Coachella, cited as a festival highlight by Billboard, which praised Glass Animals’ “dynamic rendition” of “Gooey.” In July, a storm briefly interrupted their sold-out show at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre, but the band returned to the stage and got the crowd dancing again. Local NBC affiliate 9 News observed, “You always take the risk of rain or shine at Red Rocks, but Glass Animals made it worth every drop.” Their riveting live shows have contributed to Glass Animals’ incredible global growth, resulting in sold-out excursions throughout the U.K., Europe and Australia.

Glass Animals are touring in support of How To Be A Human Being (Harvest Records), which debuted in the Top 20 of the Billboard 200 and topped the iTunes Alternative Albums chart in the U.S. and Australia. The album introduced fans to a diverse group of fictional characters, inspired by real people the band encountered while on tour. Glass Animals have continued to bring these characters to life with interactive sites for “Life Itself,””Youth” and “Pork Soda,” as well as a video game app for “Season 2 Episode 3.

The single “Agnes” has over 10 million streams on Spotify worldwide. The official video, directed by Eoin Glaister, and can be seen HERE. Track “Pork Soda” has upwards of 13 million Spotify streams, and the official video, which can be seen HERE, has more than one million views. NPR Music placed “Life Itself” on its list of “Songs We Love” while “Youth” appeared on their “10 Songs Public Radio Can’t Stop Playing” list. How To Be A Human Being is the follow-up to Glass Animals’ 2014 debut, ZABA, which contained the hits “Gooey” and “Black Mambo.”
