Last Wednesday, March 20, the rooftop of the prestigious Hotel La Concha witnessed the “GLAD Nominees Batch” celebration and recognition cocktail. The event was dedicated to all its clients represented by GLAD Empire, a company specialized in the distribution of music and content.
An elegant evening on the occasion of Las Vegas, held its red carpet event for first edition Tu Música Urbano Awards nominees of the company. They spent the following day in the Choliseo of Puerto Rico.
“The purpose of this event is to celebrate the success of all these independent artists and to know that we are proud of all their effort and sacrifice. I want them to know that they are all winners, and we celebrate and take pride in the completion of the first edition of an award dedicated to the urban genre and produced on our island by Puerto Rican entrepreneurs, “ said Camille Soto, president of GLAD Empire.
Artists of GLAD Empire had 20 nominations within the “Premios Tu Música Urbano 2019”, earning the category of “Remix of the year” with the theme “Te Bote Remix” by the artists Nio García, Casper Mágico, Darell, Ozuna, Bad Bunny and Nicky Jam. “Te Bote Remix” has become a musical urban phenomenon, being certified 53 times by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association) and continues to climb positions in the Billboard Hot Latin Songs Chart for 47 consecutive weeks.
Apart from all of the nominations and awards received, the artists also performed live. Myke Towers performed with Farruko, playing the song “Si Se Da”, his latest promotional single that is currently at number 26 on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs list. J Alvarez and Olga Tañon also performed, premiering their dynamic collaboration, “Que Fluya”, accompanied by a colorful and energetic body of dance. Brytiago and Darell also delighted the audience with their song “Asesina”.
One of the most applauded moments was the great closing, where several themes that marked the urban musical beginnings were performed by the pioneers of the genre; Alberto Stylee, Yaviah, Chezina and MC Ceja, the latter also being the owner of Glad Empire. This participation was presented and enlivened by the musical producers and DJ pioneers of this musical movement; DJ Nelson, DJ Playero and DJ Negro.
