Ethan Solu, half American half Turkish, was born on March 6, 2000. E-Sol, fondly mentioned by close friends, was brought up in Morro Bay with three brothers.
This June, he will graduate from the University of California San Diego (UCSD), with a major in Sustainable Tourism Management while competing on their Surf Club.
Prior to attending the UCSD, he explored Southeast Asia’s culture, cuisine, nightlife, and music. On this tour, he visited Jakarta, Bali, and Singapore. In the recent past, he toured Mexico and was enlightened. ‘After staying in an indigenous village, in comparison to [USA]… I’m pretty lucky to have this opportunity.’ He also donated an undisclosed quantity of used clothing to Aboriginal people in the surrounding areas.
Aside from travelling abroad, he and his father are re-imaging a vintage Radon boat, completely restoring its engine, fiberglass exterior supports with full steps and hydrofoil.
Lastly, he hopes to retain the legacy of his parents, Joan Solu and John Solu, as an innovative hotel proprietor by curating a holistic yet intuitive, technology-focused sanctuary for like-minded people.
