Boys Holding Hands is a new international electronic pop duo comprised of real-life couple Ken Orlino, a New York-based classically-trained vocalist and songwriter, and Micki Borneland, a Copenhagen-based award-winning producer. They released their debut EP Solace in July 2023, amassing over 150,000 streams in the first month, had their debut performance as an opener at Copenhagen Pride, and have DJed at clubs and festivals across the globe. Their debut LP Things You Feel, a powerfully vulnerable ten-track record, was released in December 2024.
Boys Holding Hands brings a romantic twist to electronic pop music, bridging physical distance through blended creativity and artistry, with a lush sound and evocative lyrics that speak directly to the heart. Ken has been singing since he was nine, honing his talent on singing competitions in the United States and the Philippines. Micki co-founded the acclaimed music duo Borneland, which is best known for original house tracks and pop/R&B remixes that have gained attention from the likes of MTV and Billboard, and has performed at iconic venues and collaborated with notable artists over the years. Together, Ken and Micki have merged their individual strengths to create a project that injects a refreshingly human depth into its expansive soundscape.
Things You Feel is an intimate exploration of the vast highs and lows of the emotional spectrum, navigating intricate themes of love, loss, and self-discovery. Each song tells a unique story, offering a taste of intense introspection. The full tracklist is as follows:
- “Midnight Opacity”
- “Your Lips’ Taste”
- “Also Bad”
- “Until Moonlight”
- “All The Words I’ve Never Said”
- “A Minute’s Release”
- “Dear Emptiness”
- “Half of Me”
- “Pisces Boy”
- “gtfo”
“This album has been our heart’s child for the past year,” the duo shares. “Born from countless thoughts, dreams, ideas, and demos, it carries pieces of us from all over the world: track sketches made on the edge of a pool in Los Angeles, lyrics written on a ferry to Norway, ideas developed in Barcelona and further refined in London, demos produced in Sydney, arrangements finalized in Berlin, recordings captured in New York, and refinements made in Copenhagen. In many ways, Things You Feel reflects our relationship: a long-distance connection where distance doesn’t exist, even when we’re on opposite sides of the world. It’s a manifestation of our relationship. We hope listeners find a part of themselves in these songs.”
The release of Things You Feel is just the beginning for the duo, as they are already in production on remix tracks slated for release later this year. Fans can catch the duo live at Distortion Festival and Copenhagen Pride this summer, with more performances to come. You can follow Boys Holding Hands on Instagram and digitally stream their available music on Spotify, Apple Music, or Tidal.
