DRAKE’S PRODUCER BOI-1DA TAKES OVER THE BILLBOARD HOT 100 CHARTS

This week, eight-time GRAMMY® Award-nominated multiplatinum producer and songwriter Boi-1da conquers the Billboard Hot 100 with a total of three songs in the chart’s Top 10.

Occupying the #1 spot, he produced Drake’s new record-breaking smash “God’s Plan, while his other productions “Diplomatic Immunity” (also for Drake) and G-Eazy’s “No Limit” [feat. A$AP Rocky & Cardi B] occupy the 7th and 10th places, respectively.

“God’s Plan” impressively becomes his second song to debut at #1 following Eminem’s RIAA diamond-certified “Not Afraid. Additionally, this marks his third Billboard Hot 100 #1 following “Not Afraid” and Rihanna’s six-times platinum “Work” [feat. Drake].

About this achievement, he humbly commented, “This is God’s work. I’m blessed to have accomplished the things that I have in my career. This is the kind of thing that you dream about as a kid making beats in your basement.”

This feat remains emblematic of his influence throughout the worlds of pop, hip-hop, R&B, and beyond. Born in Kingston, Jamaica and raised in Toronto, ON, an international scope informs his production style. It’s a big reason why Boi-1da’s songs resonate around the globe more. With eight GRAMMY® Award nods to his name, he has produced some of the defining hits of the past decade including Eminem’s “Not Afraid” (10x-platinum), Rihanna’s “Work” [feat. Drake] (6x-platinum), Drake’s “Controlla” (3x-platinum), “Best I Ever Had” (2x-platinum), “Headlines” (1x-platinum), and more.
