Six Hard Facts About Corporate Training Every Manager Should Know

Effective training is necessary for a company’s growth. It affects many factors like employee productivity, skill development and ability to take on multiple roles at once.

Lack of knowledge about proper training can hold back employees and trainers from achieving their highest potential.

This in turn will lead to a less productive and  stressed workforce.

Let us take a look at some important training facts!

1. Proper Training Requires Investment

Corporate training requires significant investment on the company’s part.

Trying to bring down the cost will only lower the quality of training which your employees receive.

This is harmful in the long run because ineffective training will bring down productivity, revenue and rankings.

Managers should make sure their employees receive the highest quality training to prepare them effectively for their job.

The training programs should be well structured and enable the learner to follow along without difficulties.

2. Online Training Is Effective

Many companies avoid conducting online training programs because they think they are not as effective as in-person sessions.

This could be further from the truth.

Studies show that employees prefer online training because of its benefits like flexibility, convenience and diverse range of learning options. Trainees can learn at their own pace which helps them retain information faster and practice new skills.

Integration of different technologies like Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Reality will contribute to increased engagement and participation.

Areas which require training in practical applications like business services can utilize a combination of online and in-person training. Leading training programs include a high quality BSB training package for developing practical skills in project management, human resources and other business management processes.

3. Training Old v. New Staff

Training existing staff can help contribute to a driven and productive workforce. It will expand the skill-set of your employees and can take higher and more demanding roles.

A manager should train a new employee with a different focus.

The main goal in training a new employee is to enhance their knowledge and prepare them for essential duties.

On the other hand, training an existing employee should focus on diversifying their skill-set and setting them up for higher positions.

4. Traditional Trainers Can Also Be Effective Online Trainers

There is a big misconception that classroom trainers cannot train people online because of technological barriers.

Training classroom trainers in different online education platforms will enable them to teach online courses.

They should be taught basic things like making video tutorials, setting up live classes and sharing course material.

5. Online Training Is Very Expensive

Online training does require a significant initial investment. But it ends up saving a lot of money for the company in the long run.

  • Employees and trainers don’t have to bear any travel expenses.
  • The company requires less number of trainers and this reduces its trainer expenses.
  • There is no need to spend money on renting separate venues or classrooms.
  • Trainer employees are able to spend more time on work and less time in training new hires. This improves productivity and increases revenue.
  • Companies can save a ton of money on printing materials since training materials can be made online.

6. Training Won’t Solve All The Company’s Problems

Training helps with many issues that affect employee productivity and efficiency but it cannot solve every problem under the sky.

Other factors like technical issues, lack of infrastructure, restrictive policies and unhealthy employee-manager relationships will also affect the productivity.

The management should implement appropriate strategies to deal with such issues.

Conclusion

People in managerial positions should make sure that training is carried out in an effective and proper manner.

They should also encourage employee feedback and healthy discussions regarding training outcomes.

What Instagram Trends Have There Been in 2022

The social media landscape is constantly shifting and evolving. As digital platforms adopt new technology and new practices, users will need to adapt their behaviour to meet new standards to ensure their posts don’t get lost amongst the noise.

Some trends appear and disappear in the blink of an eye, while others take hold and become social media sensations. Sometimes it can be hard to keep track of it all. We’ve put together a list of some of the top trends seen on Instagram in 2022. Check it out below.

The Rise Of Reels

Photos are still king on Instagram. The platform remains the de facto place to post photos online. While our snaps can still be printed and made into collections through photo book maker services, posting them online at the same time has become second nature.

However, the explosive rise of TikTok has made people question whether video content is the future. Instagram seemed worried about this, launching their own Reels feature in response to TikTok’s success.

Reels was launched in 2020, but it was this year that we saw the feature really take. Instagram updated Reels to accommodate longer videos and added a slew of editing options to rival TikTok. Creators on Instagram who had previously focused purely on still images have begun to foray into producing video content for the platform.

More Influencers

Social media influencers are often thought of as super-rich celebrities who have follower counts numbering in the tens of millions. However, in 2022 we have started to see an increase in smaller-scale influencers and brand partners, often referred to as micro-influencers.

Brands have noticed that some people can have a hard time relating to famous influencers and that their marketing campaigns were stagnating or performing poorly. In response to this, some companies have opted to work with less established and less obvious influencers, users with modest follower numbers and more natural posts and feeds. This has worked to help brands better connect with consumers on a deeper level, and it’s something we can definitely expect to see more of as we head into 2023.

Going Live

Live streaming is a booming industry, with platforms like Twitch enjoying incredible viewing figures and spawning a whole new subculture of content.

Instagram has had a live feature for a number of years, but we saw it really take off in 2022. Brands and influencers can go live to give consumers a more personal insight and connection, while friends and family can go live simply for the fun of it.

More Stories

Instagram’s Story feature launched in 2016 and has gone through numerous iterations since then. It is now one of the platform’s most popular features. It is used by everyone, from basic users to celebrities, to offer a snapshot into their daily life. The feature allows for quick editing options such as captions, stickers, and music and was an incredibly popular creative feature throughout 2022.

Conclusion

Use this guide to look back on the top Instagram trends in 2022 and predict what the platform’s future could look like.

What does 9 6 mean in video poker?

There are dozens of types of poker, and video poker is one of the more popular versions. Within the broader categories of video poker and poker, you can play many different variations of the game. Poker is believed to have been created hundreds of years ago and played right across the world, in some form, ever since.

Video poker is a new phenomenon compared to traditional games. However, it is still well established compared to other online gambling markets, such as digital casinos, which have emerged in the last 10 to 15 years. Crypto video poker is becoming also popular, with many people opting to play with Bitcoin and Ethereum instead of dollars or euros.

In video poker, a 9 6 means full-play jacks or better. This is a common term that is used and is the most popular and well-known version of video poker. Once computer technology entered popular culture throughout the 1980s, video poker spearheaded the gaming revolution underpinning this seismic cultural change.

Video poker still has a core group of enthusiasts who often prefer to play it over other casino games and traditional poker games such as Texas Hold Em.

Whilst playing a physical game of poker relies on reading your opponent’s body language, video poker works slightly differently. Players prefer to opt for a strategy-heavy approach that allows them to gamble in solace without having to play mind games which can be mentally exhausting throughout a long session.

Why Is 9 6 The Most Popular Method?

As the payoff for a full house is 9 times the bet and the payoff for a flush is 6 times the bet, the odds multiplier is enough for regular players to fancy their chances. It is considered the best mix of risk vs reward when partaking in a video poker game.

Players want the opportunity to win a good bit of money, but they also don’t want to enter a game where the odds of a return are so astronomical that there isn’t any point in playing. Therefore, the full play jacks or better method satisfies both of these questions.

How To Establish If A Video Poker Machine Is 9 6

Previously, in the primitive days of video poker, the way you could identify a 9 6 was very straightforward. All you needed to look out for was the 9/6 “fraction”. This refers to a one-coin payoff for a flush or a full house. If the pay table clearly showed that it allowed this type of payoff, you’d easily identify this type of machine as a full play jacks or better 9 6 machine.

Do You Have More Chance Of Winning On This Machine?

No, video poker machines have a built-in mechanism that randomly generates payout and deals the cards in random order. Although plenty of players prefer this type of game due to the payout you get for a flush or full house, you aren’t more likely to win with this type of video poker machine when compared to any other poker game. This includes games played in the physical casino and other digital poker games, including video and virtual games online.

You must ensure that you keep your experience fun. This is the key aim of any online game you play. Suppose you have started spending more time on your casino game than you anticipated or started spending more money than you initially planned. In that case, these are both red flags and issues you need to address immediately.

Gambling should not be seen as a form of income. If you begin to chase losses and gamble angrily, you need to make sure that you consult a professional who will help you address these issues as quickly as possible to stop you from losing any more money.

No.1 State to Hire Workers

new study found Florida is the No. 1 best state to hire workers followed by Washington, Delaware, Nevada, and Arizona.

There are an unprecedented .5 unemployed workers for every one of the 10.7 million unfilled U.S. jobs. This marks the smallest talent pool for employers this century as the ‘Great Resignation’ endures and ‘Quiet Quitters’ – those who do the bare minimum at work — makes up at least 50% of the workforce.

This costs employers $7.8 trillion in lost productivity globally, which makes finding top talent critical and business owners are faring better in some states due to a confluence of factors.

CareerCloud today released a study on the Best and Worst States to Hire Workers using data from the Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Tax Foundation, and the St. Louis Fed to analyze five factors critical to hiring: job openings, population growth, education levels, diversity, and business taxes.

Key Findings:

·        No. 1 Florida: Ranked No. 4 in business tax policies, No. 8 in population increase, No. 25 for adults with bachelor’s degrees, No. 8 for diversity, and No. 14 for job openings.

·        Top 10 states: Florida, Washington, Delaware, Nevada, Arizona, North Carolina, Texas, Utah, New Hampshire, Colorado. Eight of these are in the top quartile for population growth.

·        Bottom 5 States: West Virginia, Ohio, Louisiana, Kentucky, and Rhode Island.

Four Tips to Stay Healthy This Holiday Season

new study finds Utah is the No. 1 healthiest state in America this holiday season followed by Massachusetts and the District of Columbia. Louisiana, Arkansas, and West Virginia are the three most unhealthy states.

The holidays are the perfect time to eat, drink, and be merry, but also a time when Americans fall off the wagon with excessive eating, drinking and stress.  Overindulging can exacerbate holiday depression and cause health issues making it important to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Life Extension released a study on the Healthiest States in America after comparing all 50 states and D.C. across eight health categories using the most recent data from the CDC.

Key Findings:

·       Utah, the No. 1 healthiest state, was healthier than the average American in six of the eight categories: exercise, good overall health, heart disease, drinking, smoking, and eating fruits. The two categories where they fell short were reporting good mental health — 50.7 compared to 59.1 nationally — and eating vegetables.

·       Louisiana, the No. 1 least healthy state, was less healthy than the national average in all eight categories.  Notably nearly 20% of residents smoke compared to 14.4% nationally and only 71.6% exercise regularly compared to 76.3%.

·       10 Healthiest Places: Utah, Massachusetts, D.C., Connecticut, Maryland, Hawaii, Illinois, Colorado, New Hampshire, and New Jersey.

4 Tips to Stay Healthy This Holiday Season

1)     Maintain Your Workout and Wellness Routine: Why wait for a New Year’s resolution? Stay healthy all season long by keeping your normal health and wellness routines going whether that means going to the gym, doing yoga, meditating, or taking long walks. To avoid weight gain consider taking a natural weight loss supplement and to avoid eating and drinking your emotions when stress occurs take a natural supplement to enhance your mood such as FlorAssist Mood Improve.

2)     Do Not Use Travel as an Excuse: It is very easy to fall off the wagon when you are out of your normal routine. Thankfully, even when you are not near your gym, there are countless fitness apps that offer workout classes on demand with no equipment necessary.  Additionally, being stuck at the airport does not mean you need to order a Cinnabon. Anticipate travel delays and pack healthy meals and snacks.

3)     Be Proactive to Avoid Getting Sick: Getting rundown or sick is a common occurrence during the holiday season and can be mitigated by getting eight hours of sleep and by proactively taking vitamins and supplements. Echinacea, for example, will boost your immune system to help fight colds and infections, ashwagandha provides healthy energy when you are feeling burned out, and melatonin can help you sleep.

4)     Take Time For Yourself: Attending holiday parties with friends, family or work can be stressful if you do not build in time to relax and recharge at home. Overscheduling will cause fatigue which can make you more susceptible to making unhealthy lifestyle choices. Be sure to prioritize and do not be afraid to decline certain invitations.

Online Scams Targeted at Teens

study warns teens to be on high alert for online scams this holiday season as they are now falling for scams faster than every other age group.

The money lost by teens grew by 1125% over the last five years compared to 390% for seniors. Teens lost just $8.2 million in 2017 compared to $101.4 million last year. This speaks to the growing sophistication of scammers and the overconfidence of tech-savvy teens online.

Social Catfish released a study on the State of Internet Scams 2022 after analyzing data from the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center and the FTC released in 2022.

A record $6.9 billion was lost to online scams in 2021, up nearly double from $3.5 billion in 2019.

California ranked No. 1 with 67,095 victims losing $1,227,989,139 last year, an average loss of $18,302.

3 Online Scams Targeting Teens This Holiday Season:

1)     Romance Scams:  During the holidays, teenagers who feel lonely — despite being surrounded by family — turn online looking for connection. Romance scammers approach them with stolen photos of an attractive suitor, shower them with love and affection, and begin asking for money.

How to Avoid:  Perform a reverse image search to confirm their identity.

2)     Social Media Influencer Free Holiday Giveaways: Scammers create fake Tik Tok and Instagram accounts to impersonate popular social media influencers. They offer free product giveaways and include a link to redeem the product. It is a phishing link that steals all of your data.

How to Avoid: Fake accounts have few followers. Never click on any suspicious links.

3)     Online Shopping Scams: Teens do most of their holiday shopping online and scammers are creating fake stores and running ads offering holiday discounts. The fraudulent look-a-like website looks may look legitimate at first glance, but any products purchased will never arrive.

How to Avoid: Fake sites have spelling errors in the URL and grammatical errors across the site.

If you are the victim of a scam or attempted scam report it to the FTC, IC3FBI and IdentityTheft.gov.

Among the highlights are three hand finished etchings by Yorkshire artist and writer Harland Miller (b.1964). The artworks are Miller’s iconic Penguin prints created after vintage book covers from the Penguin publishing house. One of the three, a woodcut print in a striking bright pink is from an edition of 50 and dates from 2021. Signed and dated, it carries an estimate of £45,000-£55,000 (Lot 93).

The sale will offer four lithographs by one of the most important British artists of the 20th Century, Barbara Hepworth (1903-1975). Recognised predominantly for her Modernist sculpture, Hepworth also produced spectacular graphic works on paper, which included etchings and lithographs such as these. One of the highlights titled Sea Forms while abstract, will have been inspired by the landscape around Hepworth, while living with her artist husband Ben Nicholson (1894-1982), on the Cornish coast. This dynamic work dates from 1969, is signed by the artist and is numbered from the edition of 60. It carries an estimate of £3,500-£4,000 (Lot 12).

Hirst’s most well-known motifs – the butterfly. The butterflies are arranged on laminated giclée panels to form patterns, the material helping to create the illusion of the butterflies in flight, with a glitter effect adding to the sense of movement. Dating from 2022, the work is signed and numbered and carries an estimate of £20,000-£25,000 (Lot 104).

There are several artworks by graffiti artist Banksy (b.1974) in the sale, including one from the edition of four of the Bad Meaning Good album covers that he designed for the Bad Meaning Good music compilations between 2002 and 2003. The albums featured various artists and varying genres of music and were released in vinyl and CD formats. This particular work is from the Bad Meaning Good Volume 1 album, which consisted of tracks chosen by British DJ and music producer, Skitz. The painting in spray paint and emulsion on canvas portrays a stencilled black and white machine gun wearing oversized trainers in an almost comical way, detracting from the violent image of the machine gun and what it represents. An orange cross can be seen in the background, one of many symbols of Banksy’s anti-establishment statements about authority and control. Created in 2002 it is estimated to fetch £120,000-£150,000 (Lot 123).

Works by another popular British graffiti artist included in the sale is Stik (b. 1979), with two lots by the artist on offer. Holding Hands is a set of five lithographs featuring stick men/women holding hands. It is printed in bold colours, with each signed by the artist in black felt-tip pen on paper. The set carries an estimate of £4,000-£6,000 (Lot 120).

Among three works by British artist Bridget Riley CH CBE (b. 1931) is a screen print (Untitled, elongated triangles 6). The work is typical of her popular op art style of creating visual artworks that give onlookers a sense of illusion and movement, with oscillating patterns. Created in bold colours, this spectacular work was produced in 1971 and is signed, dated and numbered from an edition of 75. It carries an estimate of £6,000-£8,000 (Lot 720).

One of six works by revered British artist David Hockney (b.1937) is an early etching with aquatint titled Fires of Furious Desire inspired by the poem: ‘O Flames of Furious Desire’ by William Blake. Dating from 1961 it is from an edition of 75 and is signed and dated. It carries an estimate of £5,000-£7,000 (Lot 61).

Perry designed the Staffordshire figures as part of his ‘Art Club Series 2’ and are models of the exhibition works in Bristol Museum. How to Map Multiple Locations on Google Maps

Google Maps is one of the most popular navigation platforms, and for a good reason. It takes plenty of data from various sources, including websites, users, and businesses, offering it as an integrative platform for all users. Google Maps is reliable and easy to use, making it efficient for small businesses wanting to develop custom maps. Currently, Google Maps allows users to pin multiple locations simultaneously, although it’s a lesser-known functionality.

How to Pin Multiple Locations with Google Maps?

You’ll need a list of all locations to map multiple locations on Google Maps. The address file should include all individual addresses but can also include detailed information like latitude and longitude data. Your spreadsheet will need at least two columns of data, although the order of the columns doesn’t matter.

To start:

  1. Visit the Google Maps website by entering maps.google.com in your web browser.
  2. Sign into your Google account and select the menu icon in the top corner of the screen.
  3. From there, choose the “Your Places” button.

Locate the “Maps” tab to start building your map, and select the “Create Map” icon on the bottom menu. Give your map a name and add an adequate description. To locate the import button, click on the three dots and open the layer menu. Select the file that contains your spreadsheet data and choose to open the file. Google Maps will automatically plot all points onto the map.

Customizing Your Google Map

Unfortunately, Google Maps offers fewer custom options than third-party programs, but they present a few options. If custom options are essential to your company (for example, custom colors, design, and mapping options), consider purchasing a program like Maptive. This program allows complete personalization while integrating with Google Maps. After locations upload to the program and appear on the map, users can personalize the physical appearance of the map within the settings.

To get started with Google Maps, here are a few customization options available:

Adding Individual Markers

If you’d like to add an additional marker to the map, click the “Add Marker” button on the page and select the location you’d like the marker. Users can personalize the marker color if they want the new marker to stand out.

Changing the Style and Color of Pins

When you’d like to change the style and color of your pins, simply click the “Uniform Style” button and choose another styling option available.

Adding Additional Points of Interest

Adding points of interest to your map can connect users with additional components to your map. These items might include restaurants, hotels, businesses, etc. To add a point of interest, perform a simple search for the location in the search bar. Select the location you’d like to add from the drop-down results. Choosing a location will focus on the point of interest on the map, with the option of adding the site as a marker on your map.

Adding a Custom Google Map Style

Users can change how a map looks by choosing the “Base Map” button. This button will create a menu where users can change the map style. Choose the map style that works best for your business, or return the map to default settings by clicking “Reset to Default.”

How to Search Through Your Markers

Google Maps currently offers a built-in search function that allows users to search by category, label, or location name. Use the main search bar at the top of the application to search for your marker’s name, address, or category.

How to Navigate Between Markers

Clicking on a marker within Google Maps will bring an option “Directions to Here” icon. Selecting this icon will start creating a route within the map. To create a route between two markers, click on another marker icon. Users can also add custom directions to the map by choosing the “Add Directions” button at the top of the software.

How to Share or Embed Your Map

When you’re happy with the map, sharing is relatively simple. Start by clicking on the “+ Share” button. If you’d like to add your custom map to a professional blog or website, choose the “Embed” button and pick the size you want. To embed the map, copy the text in the box and paste that code into the HTML.
