Cybersecurity – Password Managers

Cybersecurity experts  VPNOverview.com have revealed exactly how password managers can help and how to find ones that are trustworthy to use.

How Password Storage Helps Your Online Security

Emails, Google, web shops, social media – you name it. The likeliness is that you have countless accounts on several different websites and platforms. For almost every account you create, you have to think of a password that will allow you to access any secured data without being hacked easily. This means that you will have countless of passwords to remember – unless you use a password manager.

Password managers – for example, Blur or 1Password – allow you to store all of your passwords safely in their ‘password vaults’. From the moment you have installed one, you are only required to remember your master password, which will give you access to every single password you have saved within.

That means you do not have to write passwords down on a piece of paper that could be stolen or keep a word document with sensitive information that could fall into the wrong hands. Your password manager ultimately has you covered with one simple app.

The Advantages of Using a Password Manager

Password managers help you to remember all of the passwords you use online, but there are some additional advantages to using them. In fact, password managing apps help you to make your system far safer and more efficient. Here’s why:

·      Password managers encrypt your passwords so no one but you has access to them.

·      They save you time as you can log into your accounts automatically or with just one click.

·      They create unique and strong passwords for all of you accounts, so none of them are easy to guess.

·      They work on different devices, meaning you can log into your accounts on both your computer and smartphone with minimal effort.

Are All Password Managers Safe?

Anyone who spends a lot of time online should install a password manager, so it can keep track of all your passwords and sensitive information.

However, not all password managers are 100% safe. As you will be giving the password manager access to all your passwords, it is important to choose one you can trust. Some self-proclaimed ‘password managers’ misuse that trust to gather your personal information and use it against you. Similarly, other password managers are simply not secure enough and could be compromised – even though they may have better intentions. Ultimately, if they are incapable of keeping your information safe, you should not risk using them.

Luckily, VPNOverview.com have tested several password managers on their security and ease of use. Not sure which manager to choose? Checkout their top picks via the links below.

In the early part of the 20th century, motorcycle culture was a homegrown phenomenon. It grew out of the passion of riders for their evolving sport. The camaraderie that developed around riding and attending competitive events led to the formation of motorcycle clubs that hosted destination rides, family picnics with motorcycle games and other riding competitions.

The recently reinstalled display case in the Clubs & Competition gallery highlights clothing from club members from primarily the 1930s and 1940s. The clothing selections on view include full dress uniforms, shirts, sweaters, jackets and caps, customized by the owners with their club’s name and logo, and pins or patches indicating membership in the American Motorcyclist Association. Today, it’s called off-road or adventure touring; back then it was just called riding. Since 1903, Harley-Davidson® motorcycles proved their toughness by riding over wooded hills, through stone-choked creek beds and up mountain sides. “Off-Road Harley-Davidson” tells the history of motorcycles designed for rough roads, the people who rode them and the adventures they shared.

The last weekend in April was one to remember as one of the hottest DJs spinning, Dr. Fresch, put on a high-energy set at DAYLIGHT Beach Club at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino on Saturday, April 29. The pool was packed as the rays beamed down during the 75-minute set that included his top hits such as “Take A Step Back,” “Gangsta Gangsta” and “Feedback.” Dr. Fresch stayed cool by sipping on Red Bull and waters when he wasn’t dancing with and hyping up the electric crowd.

Legend of the hip-hop scene, Too Short, closed out April in style at DAYLIGHT with “LIT Sundays” on Sunday, April 30. The packed house was rocking when the West Coast star performed some of his most well-known tracks such as Blow the Whistle,” “Shake that Monkey” and “Hoes Ain’t Loyal.” Too Short toasted enthusiastic fans with Clase Azul and Don Julio Reposado tequila during his performance. Grace and Golf

Grace and Golf was written by Thomas Buckley, who won an international golf tournament in Turkey in 2016. Thomas’s cousin Phil, who is the family historian, encouraged writing the story of his victory in 2018. At first, Thomas had no interest in writing a story about himself but eventually realized that God wanted them to write the story as it was about overcoming adversity through God’s grace, redemption, and living with purpose.

Thomas had a challenging childhood due to an alcoholic father and turned to drugs and alcohol as a means of coping at age 12. Although Thomas excelled at sports, including golf, substance abuse took over his life, leading him to stop playing sports altogether.

A month before his 19th birthday, Thomas’s parents sent him to a treatment center for help. Although Thomas experienced some setbacks early on, he has been able to maintain sobriety for over 42 years.

The book details specific moments of grace in Thomas’s life that allowed his victory in the Turkish Airlines World Amateur Golf Championship Open to come to fruition.

One specific moment of grace covered in the book is when Thomas got divorced after nearly 18 years of not drinking. He explains how he almost returned to drinking one perilous night after his divorce but instead went to get help at a local church. That night he met a man and that meeting changed the entire trajectory of Thomas’ life culminating in a private audience with St. Pope John Paul II in the Vatican in Rome.

The book also features several golf stories that highlight famous courses from around the world that Thomas has been blessed to play as well as the relationships Thomas has been blessed to make due to living his life for others.

The book comes to a close with a chapter where Thomas reveals the top 10 lessons he has learned in his life.

While the book may resonate the most with golfers, it will speak to anyone who is looking for ways to cope with the various difficulties and challenges of life. Thomas hopes the reader will enjoy his spiritual journey around some of the most magnificent golf courses in the world.

Michelle Goni, MD

My father immigrated from Spain to the United States of America in his late forties. He was a Renaissance-type man: multilingual, culturally astute, well-versed in world history and Spanish literature, a self-taught pianist, educator, and poet. Being fifty-two years older than me, our age gap, generational differences, and communication issues led to many misunderstandings. He had a difficult time assimilating to American culture, and I was a prime teen in the eighties. I adopted the role of pleaser to win his rare praises, but it was never enough. Compliments were few. As the patriarch, he led sternly and expected nothing less than perfection.

Writing was an escape from my rigid, sometimes stoic, home. Poetry was the genre I gravitated to perhaps because it was unstructured, evoked emotions, and incorporated rhythm. I told my father that I wanted to be a writer “when I grew up” but he responded that the idea was nonsense and that my only two options were to become a doctor or lawyer. It was after this conversation that I stopped sharing my poetry with him. For my father, doing well academically equated to success, and this took precedence over anything else. I defined my performances; in school, piano, tennis, and/or learning a third language, the result was synonymous with what I was going to be. This was the start of years of perfectionism, limiting beliefs, searching for belonging, and lacking self-love. Despite these obstacles, the love and respect I had for my father was immeasurable, as was the pain I felt when he passed away during my junior year of college.

One of the main inspirational leaders who helped me transform my thought processes is clinical researcher, professor, and author Dr. Brené Brown. She states that “courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen.” I made a conscious choice to be seen, and in my forties, I started writing again. This eventually led to a retrograde analysis of my life, and this book was born. Roses and Thorns is a memoir-esque compilation of life stories written in prose poetry format that gives all of us permission to fear, fail, and feel pain. But it also embraces growth, evolution, and being multi-hyphenate. If I had waited for the messy to disappear from my life, I would have never enjoyed the beautiful.

Roses and Thorns is meant to inspire the reader to spark internal dialogue through the use of emotionally provoking poetry. Most of the poems in my book are personal stories. Some are raw and painful, like the thorns on a rose. I have known grief, failure, impossible self-imposted expectations, and emotional abuse. I also share beautiful moments of self-awareness, hope, appreciation, and evolution like the sprouting, colorful petals on a rose.

Life is beautiful, and life is messy. In a universe whose laws of energy constantly shift toward balance, it should be accepted that both can coexist. Normalizing vulnerability and sharing our stories, emotions, and thoughts is the spark to loving our lives and finding relatable connections.

Ticketmaster Controversy

Ticketmaster Crowned the Royal Pain of Coronation: The Controversial Reign of a Ticketing Empire

In the run-up to the much-anticipated British Coronation, Ticketmaster, the global ticketing behemoth, finds itself under fire from the British public. For some, Ticketmaster is a household name and the go-to platform for purchasing event tickets. For others, it is a controversial brand with a love-hate relationship. So, who is Ticketmaster, and what do they do? More importantly, why have they become such a polarizing figure in the entertainment industry?

Ticketmaster was founded in 1976 by Albert Leffler, Peter Gadwa, Gordon Gunn III, and Charles H Hamby Jr. and has since grown to become one of the largest ticket sales and distribution companies worldwide. The company provides a platform for event organizers to sell tickets to live events, such as concerts, sporting events, and theatrical productions.

Ticketmaster has been a subject of controversy for various reasons, including:

High service fees: Ticketmaster is infamous for charging customers additional fees on top of the face value of the tickets, sometimes adding up to 30% or more. This practice has left many customers frustrated and looking for alternative ticketing platforms.

Monopolistic practices: Ticketmaster has been accused of monopolizing the ticketing industry, as it controls a significant portion of the market. Critics argue that this has led to a lack of competition, resulting in higher prices and limited consumer choice.

Legal disputes: Ticketmaster has faced numerous legal battles, including lawsuits over their pricing practices and antitrust concerns.

Bots and scalpers: Ticketmaster’s platform has been criticized for its vulnerability to bots and scalpers, who buy large quantities of tickets and resell them at inflated prices. This issue leaves genuine fans struggling to obtain tickets at face value.

Despite the controversies, Ticketmaster remains a go-to choice for many due to its wide range of event offerings and user-friendly platform. However, recent public outcry surrounding the British Coronation ticket sales has rekindled the debate about the company’s practices.

James Collins, CEO of CheapoTicketing, weighed in on the situation, stating, “The public’s frustration with Ticketmaster is understandable, especially during high-profile events like the Coronation. The industry needs to prioritize consumer needs and offer a more transparent, accessible, and fair ticketing experience.”

As the British Coronation approaches, the spotlight on Ticketmaster’s controversial practices intensifies. The question remains whether the company will take steps to address these concerns or continue to rule its ticketing empire amidst ongoing criticism.

The Greenest Computer Brands of 2023

Striving to be environmentally conscious in every area of your life might feel easier in some places than in others. When it comes to food, for example, options such as eating less meat make a starting point feel quite obvious. However, when it comes to technology, the guidance is much murkier due to the obscurity of how much damage any given brand might actually do.

What about computer brands, then? It’s not enough to purely opt for the computer brand that is going to have the least negative environmental impact, as you still need it to function as you want it to; otherwise, you’re going to end up buying another one – exacerbating the issue.

Lenovo

Through various marketing pushes, such as their ThinkPad brand, Lenovo has made a name for itself as being reliable for both work and leisure. However, is that enough? Well, by perusing through their own annually published sustainability report, you can see for yourself. Many think quite highly of them in this regard through the results that they put out, and the transparency that comes along with that.

So, while they might be considered sustainable enough, is it good enough for what you want? Well, as stated previously there is a lot of utility on display here for both work and personal use. What about something like gaming, or playing the variety of games at jackpotcitycasino.com? For handling the visual output of the various slot games available here, you’ll need a suitably powerful device, and if gaming is your priority, there is a whole range of Lenovo laptops that can suit your needs just fine, allowing you the smooth and fluid gaming experience you’re looking for.

Apple

Things get difficult when digging into these topics. However, due to the source of information. For example, while some sources might cite Apple as being one of the more environmentally conscious of the big computer brands, others might be quick to point out that this megacorporation naturally produces an enormous number of emissions. So, who do you believe?

Some might want to look at the output of carbon in relation to the size of the business to get a better sense of how they compare to other brands, but others will want to simply move away from them entirely. This can be complicated, however, by the consistent quality that Apple products hold for some people, which might lean you towards some sources more than others.

Acer

With the release of the Acer Aspire Vero, this brand has made a conscious effort to tie its environmental approach to the products themselves. Being relatively affordable, ecologically minded, and of a high enough quality to often go recommended by professional outlets, this might be a quick choice for a consumer. However, once again, the purpose is important. Gaming might not be something that is always at the forefront of this device’s intentions, though in modern times, that can be offset by researching various cloud gaming options in order to allow yourself more flexibility in that regard.
