To celebrate Land Rover Classic’s British heritage and honor Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Jaguar Land Rover will showcase 10 of her Land Rover, Defender and Range Rover vehicles in a historic exhibit on the Plaza at Rockefeller Center in New York City this month. JLR enjoys a long and ongoing association with the Royal Family and proudly displays the Royal Warrant in recognition of its status as an official supplier of vehicles.

Taking place from October 17 through October 20, 2024, the exhibition will be open to the public from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Thursday, October 17, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Friday, October 18, 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, October 19, and 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Sunday, October 20. Joe Eberhardt, President and CEO JLR North America said: “It is our honor to pay tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by showcasing a unique collection of Land Rover, Range Rover, and Defender vehicles in New York City and other cultural touchpoints across the country. We look forward to welcoming guests to experience the display and learn about the unique relationship the Royal family has with these vehicles, whether they were used in an official capacity or at their private households.”

The Rockefeller Center exhibit is an extension of the vehicles’ U.S. debut, following a groundbreaking reveal at the show field of the 2024 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance® in August. Set against the dramatic setting of the Monterey coastline, the vehicles stood at attention on the 17th Fairway of the famous golf course for young and old to enjoy in the setting of a modern English Garden Party. Following the activation on the Plaza at Rockefeller Center, they will continue on to visit other notable destinations across the country.

Each model in the convoy has close links to the Royal Family, carrying out official duties or working behind the scenes on the Royal estates. The display will feature two of the earliest Royal vehicles: the first Land Rover Series I State Review vehicle and a Land Rover Series I. The vehicles in the display include:

1954 Land Rover Series I State Review vehicle

The very first State Review Land Rover vehicle featured a custom‑designed rear platform. It accompanied HM Queen Elizabeth II and HM The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, on a six‑month tour of the Commonwealth. This particular vehicle was sent to Australia for that leg of the tour and is now under the care of a private collector in the United States.

1954 Land Rover Series I (NXN1)

Originally ordered by HM King George VI, it was used by HM Queen Elizabeth II and other senior members of the Royal Family at Balmoral. Land Rover apprentices restored it in 2010, and it now resides in the Land Rover Classic collection.

1958 Land Rover Series II State Review vehicle

The second official ceremonial review Land Rover vehicle featured blue side light lenses, which were switched on whenever a member of the Royal family was being carried. This example was a reserve vehicle, which explains its low mileage of approximately 13,000 miles. It forms part of the Royal Collection at the British Motor Museum, Gaydon.

1966 Land Rover Series IIa Station Wagon (JYV1D)

Driven by HM Queen Elizabeth II, this was the first Station Wagon of its kind to be fitted with a six‑cylinder engine. It also features a host of special features, including leather seats, a wooden dog guard, and side steps, to help it fulfill its Royal duties. It now forms part of the Royal Collection at the British Motor Museum, Gaydon.

1974 Range Rover State Review vehicle

The first Range Rover vehicle to take the role of ceremonial State Review vehicle entered service in 1975 and was used until 2002. Its specially modified rear included foldaway seats and a lectern containing concealed umbrellas. An additional exhaust silencer ensured noise from the V8 engine was kept to a minimum for its Royal passengers. It now forms part of the Royal Collection at the British Motor Museum, Gaydon.

1990 Range Rover State Review vehicle

The third State Review Range Rover vehicle featured in the image chosen by HM Queen Elizabeth II for her 1994 Christmas card, where she and HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, were pictured attending the 50th Anniversary of D‑Day Landings in Arromanches. This vehicle is part of the British Motor Museum collection.

1983 Defender 110 V8 (A444RYV)

A personal vehicle commissioned and used by HM Queen Elizabeth II, it was used on Crown estates Sandringham and Balmoral and was ideal for rural transport and Royal pursuits. The car is fitted with special equipment, leather seats, and a special radio system and is finished in dark green paint to Queen Elizabeth II’s choice. With grab handles and footsteps, it is suitable for hunting and fishing trips. This vehicle is part of the British Motor Museum collection.

1996 Range Rover P38 State 1 Royal Review

This is the fourth State I Royal Review vehicle provided by Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations and replaced the previous State I Range Rover from 1990.

These bespoke vehicles were used on Royal tours at home and abroad by Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip. Like all state vehicles it is painted in the Royal colour claret with a distinctive red pinstripe running down the side of the car, but additionally boasts hand-painted crests on the doors and tailgate. It features the royal crown topped by a golden crowned lion, which is part of the royal Coat of Arms, and is surrounded by a garter bearing the motto “Honi soit qui mal y pense” (meaning shame on him who thinks evil). This symbolizes the Order of the Garter, an ancient order of knighthood.

The specially adapted rear platform for the royal party to look out from was given four foldaway seats, rather than the usual two that are in other state vehicles. This vehicle is part of the British Motor Museum collection.

2005 Rand Rover L322 State Review

This is the fifth State I Royal Review vehicle provided by Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations.
The specially adapted rear platform from which the royal party can look out has the same black leather upholstery as inside the driver’s cabin. The tailgate folds down to reveal a set of stairs so the royal party can easily access the platform. This vehicle was famously used to transport the then Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry during Queen Elizabeth II’s ninetieth birthday parade in 2016. This vehicle is part of the British Motor Museum collection.

2009 Range Rover (CK58 NPJ)

There are numerous pictures of HM Queen Elizabeth II behind the wheel of this Range Rover vehicle, as it was her favored vehicle after it joined the fleet. The famous labrador mascot that adorned the bonnet has been removed for safekeeping.

Global Fashion Collective Empowers Designers

Navigating the fashion industry as an emerging designer is no easy feat. The challenges are endless, from gaining exposure to securing the right connections. This is where Global Fashion Collective (GFC) comes into play—a visionary organization that offers designers a springboard to showcase their talents on a global scale. Founded by Jamal Abdourahman, GFC has opened doors for new talent in major fashion capitals. Among the designers who have thrived with GFC’s support is Tess Mann of Tess Mann Atelier, who has experienced firsthand the impact of this unique platform.

“Global Fashion Collective has truly been a game-changer for my brand,” Tess says. “The opportunities I’ve gained through their shows have been truly transformative for my brand.Their support goes beyond the runway; they are genuinely committed to helping designers connect with the right people in the industry.”

Previously known for its exquisite bridal designs, Tess Mann Atelier recently expanded to include evening wear, cocktail attire, resort wear and bespoke pieces. Through GFC, Tess has been able to introduce her new collections to audiences in fashion hubs like Tokyo, New York, and Milan, and is gearing up for the upcoming Paris and Vancouver showcases. For Tess, the journey has been both exhilarating and demanding, with GFC providing the tools, connections, and guidance necessary to elevate her brand to the next level.

“Being part of GFC’s Fashion Week shows has been an unforgettable experience,” Tess adds. “Tokyo’s fashion scene is incredibly avant-garde, setting a bold tone for the season, while New York Fashion Week offers that fast-paced, high-energy environment that pushes our creativity to new levels. Every show is a new adventure. Jamal and the GFC team go beyond just putting us on the runway; they make sure we build meaningful connections that last long after the shows are over.”

Jamal Abdourahman, the driving force behind Global Fashion Collective, has a longstanding history of nurturing emerging talent. His journey began with the launch of Vancouver Fashion Week in 2001, followed by GFC in 2017 with a mission to foster designers on an international scale. Now hosting shows in cities like New York, Tokyo, Milan, Paris, and Vancouver, GFC gives designers like Tess the chance to gain international visibility and establish connections crucial for their growth.

“The introductions GFC facilitates are crucial,” Tess explains. “Meeting buyers, editors, and influencers at these shows has opened up opportunities I could only dream of before.”

While GFC is known for its glitzy runway shows, its approach extends far beyond the catwalk. The organization works closely with designers to refine their market positioning and media outreach, tailoring strategies to resonate with different markets. This holistic support has made GFC an invaluable ally for emerging designers looking to break into the global fashion scene.

As Tess Mann Atelier prepares for upcoming showcases in Paris, and Vancouver, the partnership with Global Fashion Collective continues to be a catalyst for the brand’s evolution. “GFC is more than just a fashion week platform; it’s a network of support. It’s about building a brand that has staying power, not just having a moment on the runway,” Tess says.

For designers looking to make their mark on the international stage, Global Fashion Collective remains a beacon of opportunity—fostering creativity, building networks, and championing the voices of fashion’s next generation. With stories like Tess’s, it’s clear that GFC is paving the way for talented designers to thrive in an industry that often seems impossible to break into.

This year, the city of Cleveland will watch its hometown hero and multi-platinum recording artist, mgk, curate MGK Day. In recognition of mgk’s impact, the annual charity event serves as a celebration of unity, compassion, and community spirit. From Aug. 9 – Aug. 13, fans will savor everything Cleveland-bred, as the weekend-long activation will have food, music, and vendors leading to MGK Day on Aug. 13, where the revered legend will be throwing the first pitch at Progressive Field when the Cleveland Guardians host the Chicago Cubs.

A special treat awaits the first 10,000 fans who enter Progressive Field—a custom bag of 27 Club Coffee, exclusively available for early attendees. This past Friday, mgk surprised the crowd at Progressive Field by appearing on-field during the Cleveland Guardians post-game fireworks show.

Two years ago, mgk delivered a sold-out concert for 50,000 fans at FirstEnergy Stadium, making him the first and only Ohio native to sell out the stadium. This historic event happened after Mayor Justin Bibb officially proclaimed August 13th “Machine Gun Kelly Day.”

mgk recently released “Lonely Road” with Jelly Road, which debuted in the top 40 on the Hot 100. “Lonely Road” showcases who mgk is in today’s music landscape: a multi-faceted musician who pivots between genres through live instrumentation. mgk’s catalog will be highlighted throughout the weekend, as well as his famed album Hotel Diablo, celebrating its fifth-year anniversary.

JULIAN SCHLOSSBERG: A CLASS ACT

As of late, 360 MAGAZINE’s Vaughn Lowery had an opportunity to interact with one of the most prolific producers in Hollywood, Julian Schlossberg.

Q: After so many years as a successful producer and podcaster, how did it feel to release part two of your memoir in front of your peers? Was it the reaction you expected?

A: As we have been taught, closure is important.  The fact that I completed another memoir was a satisfying feeling. My peers and critics seem to be consistent on one theme about this book and my first one Try Not To Hold It Against Me. It’s not about the content or my writing style.  It’s simply that they uniformly praise that both books have short chapters. Hmm??

Q: How did growing up in The Bronx prepare you to become one of the most revered industry executives in Hollywood?

A: Growing up in The Bronx exposed me to a lot of incredible opportunities to experience and learn about show business. In those days, you could go downtown without any adults to see first-run movies that often played for months before coming to your neighborhood theater. I was able to go to live radio broadcasts and early TV shows as an audience member. I got to meet famous celebrities and even enjoyed dress rehearsals of The Perry Como Show. Then, I would rush home and watch the actual show and see the changes that had been made from the “dress.” I was hooked, and I knew it.

Q: Why was it so important for you to share your narrative? Was it therapeutic?

A: Covid was the reason I wrote the books. I wanted to create and was confined to my home. It was also why I started doing 2 weekly podcasts. I enjoyed going back in time and reminiscing.

Q: If you could offer the 10-year-old version of yourself a piece of advice. what would it be?

A: There was never a doubt in my 10-year-old mind about what I wanted to do. I wanted to be in show business and do what wasn’t even considered. I was buying Variety to read outside my home since my mother did not want me to read it for some reason, and when I saw Mary Martin as Peter Pan at 13, that was it. I was hooked (no pun intended).

Q: You’ve had an opportunity to wear many different hats in the industry… Do you have a favorite? Why?

A: I don’t have a favorite. I realized when I began my career that I didn’t have a law degree, wasn’t a doctor or a dentist, or any kind of professional, but I felt knowledge was power. I set out to learn as much as I could about all aspects of the show business. By doing so, I was able to produce theater, movies, and television. I also had a radio show and a television show, co-owned a record company, directed two TV specials, wrote two books, and am currently doing two weekly podcasts. Whew!!!

Q:Is there anything you would like to touch on that we haven’t already mentioned?

A: I am grateful to Elaine May, Marlo Thomas, and Renée Taylor, all of whom contributed to the book. Marlo and Renée wrote chapters, and Elaine wrote the foreword. As the Beatles sang, “I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends.”

Q: In your book, you touched on relationships with various proteges that you’ve had in the past. As a mentor, how important was it for you to pass the torch?

A: I believe that anyone who has a modicum of success should try and help or mentor other people. I’ve enjoyed years of teaching at various colleges and universities and seminars. I even spent a month in China teaching pre-production, production, and post-production of movies. I have found that the idea that you can also be taught by your students is true.

Q: With all of the turbulence in Hollywood, do you support AI and the way it’s being utilized?

A: I don’t feel I’ve studied enough to comment on AI. However, I’m certainly 100% against using someone’s image and speech without their permission.

Q: Is there anything else you would like to add?

A: What I enjoyed writing about was stories of meetings and sometimes working with talented people: Mike Nichols, Elaine May, Woody Allen, Elia Kazan, Larry Gelbart, Arthur Penn, John Huston, and Warren Beatty. On these and many others, I’ve written profiles on some of the funny and interesting experiences I had in their company.

DJ SNAKE – COMPLICATED

Globally renowned French DJ and multi-platinum producer DJ Snake releases new single “Complicated” featuring GRAMMY-Award nominated R&B sensation Fridayy. Listen HERE via Interscope Records.

“Tell me what you want,” Fridayy croons soulfully as the after-hours track ramps up. “Please don’t make it complicated, why do you gotta complicate it?” The tempo rises as the song approaches its hypnotic chorus: “Don’t know why you’re driving me crazy, please don’t make it complicated.” That’s followed by waves of Spanish guitar flourishes, enchanting percussion and an epic synth breakdown. Overall, the club anthem is a study in atmosphere from one of dance music’s most iconic innovators.

“Complicated” follows hot on the heels of DJ Snake’s celebrated collaboration with international hitmaker Peso Pluma for “Teka,” an infectious record that has been on heavy rotation all summer. The superstar collaboration fuses Pluma’s crisp vocals with Snake’s dynamic production skills, resulting in a pulsating anthem transcendent of cultural genre boundaries.

Bridging Artistic Worlds: The Dialogue Between Tradition and Modernity

In the realm of art, juxtaposing contrasting styles often yields intriguing narratives that transcend the boundaries of convention. As a curator passionate about fostering creative dialogue, I find profound fascination in the convergence of seemingly disparate artistic sensibilities. In this exhibition, I’ve curated a compelling pairing of two artists whose work embodies a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity.

The first artist, Victor Kerpel, infuses his contemporary creations with a deep reverence for tradition. His pieces exude a sense of timelessness, drawing inspiration from classical techniques and motifs while imbuing them with a modern twist. It’s as if he is engaging in a dialogue with the past, seamlessly integrating historical elements into his innovative compositions.

In contrast, the second artist, Fanyu Lin, embraces abstraction and experimentation, pushing the boundaries of traditional artistic norms. Yet, beneath the surface of her avant-garde creations lies a subtle homage to the time-honored principles of artistic expression. Her work serves as a testament to the enduring influence of tradition, even in the most forward-thinking of artistic endeavors.

By bringing these two artists together, I aim to create a space where viewers can immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of human creativity. It’s a journey of exploration and discovery, where visitors are invited to traverse the intersection of tradition and modernity, forging connections between seemingly disparate artistic worlds.

In this exhibition, art becomes a catalyst for dialogue, transcending temporal and ideological divides to reveal the inherent interconnectedness of artistic expression. It’s an opportunity to delve into the complexities of the human experience and uncover new layers of meaning within the ever-evolving landscape of contemporary art.

Lenny Kravitz – Paralyzed

Following the release of his critically acclaimed new album Blue Electric Light earlier this year via Roxie Records/BMG, today, Lenny Kravitz debuts the otherworldly music video for focus track “Paralyzed.” Watch “Paralyzed” HERE.

Directed by Anthony Mandler (Jay-Z, Rihanna, Lana Del Rey), the “Paralyzed” music video depicts Kravitz and his band in a celestial landscape, haunted by mysterious figures that symbolize Kravitz’s hypnotic affection for the woman in question. Following the video’s premiere, YouTube Premium subscribers were treated to an Afterparty filled with exclusive behind-the-scenes content. Fans who don’t already have a YouTube Premium subscription can sign up for a free trial to access this exclusive content and more.

“Paralyzed,” which “sees Kravitz thrillingly go full ‘80s heavy metal” (Associated Press) punctuates the album’s slew of singles with a love-drunk groove, featuring tinges of psychedelic and heavy, blues-based influences. Kravitz’s razor sharp vocals cut through fuzzy guitar riffs and hazy synths, swelling to a gut-wrenching final plea: “Babe without your love I’m paralyzed.” It is the third single from Blue Electric Light, following “arena-ready” (GRAMMY) “TK421” and “absolutely infectious” (Forbes) “Human.”

So far this year, Kravitz was immortalized on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, received the “Music Icon Award” at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards and was honored by the CFDA with their “Fashion Icon Award” for his role as not only one of rock’s most esteemed musicians, but also a major fashion influence. Kravitz also headlined the UEFA Champions League Final Kick Off Show at Wembley Stadium in London before kicking off his expansive worldwide Blue Electric Light tour in Hamburg, Germany. As a relentless creative force—musician, writer, producer, actor, author, designer—Lenny Kravitz continues to be a global dynamic presence throughout music, art, and culture. Coming up, Kravitz will perform a special slate of Las Vegas dates at Dolby Live at Park MGM in October.
