Prada announces the release of its third Timecapsule NFT Collection. On August 04, there will be an exclusive drop of gender-neutral physical products, each accompanied by a gifted NFT. This fifty-piece drop follows two successful Timecapsule NFT drops: June, in collaboration with artist Cassius Hirst and July, both immediate sell-outs.  

The Timecapsule NFT Collection underscores Prada’s commitment to circularity by creating new and unique garments using existing textiles from their archive, while Timecapsule NFTs also allow Prada to explore new ways to engage customers in the digital realm.

Prada Timecapsule NFT holders will also gain access to unique events and experiences. This includes a full Prada journey in Milan with an exclusive invitation to the brand’s fashion show in September. More details will be shared on the Prada Crypted Community on Discord. 

The third NFT drop is the #32 shirt in the Timecapsule collection. Constructed from black poplin, the shirt is embellished with a selection of exclusive Prada fabrics, including a Frankenstein-inspired print created by artist Jeanne Detallante. It also features a flower-motif silk lurex brocade, a fabric sourced from a 1950s archive, and a silk lampas from a 1920s archive textile. The shirt is also decorated with a Lattice Badge featuring a graphic created by OMA studio.

The Timecapsule is a monthly online event. For 24 hours, on the first Thursday of every month, Timecapsule Collection products are made available on prada.com in very limited quantities in selected markets. 

Each limited-edition Timecapsule item has its own unique serial number and is prepared for delivery with custom packaging. As such, Prada maintains harmony between the exclusivity of the Prada Timecapsule and the scarcity of the corresponding NFTs.

Each NFT includes the drop serial number and the serial number for its accompanying physical item, so there is a direct relationship between the physical and virtual products. NFT owners are eligible to participate in exclusive benefits and experiences, as well as gain priority access to future drops. 

Prada Timecapsule NFTs are issued on Ethereum infrastructure, offering a secure and user-friendly experience. The Aura Blockchain Consortium provides the underlying NFT solutions and technology.

PRESIDENTE LAUNCHES NEW INITIATIVE TO FUEL GREATER HISPANIC REPRESENTATION IN SPORTS BUSINESS

Diversity within sports is an ongoing issue both on and off the field. Presidente, the iconic Dominican pilsner, alongside Alex Rodriguez, President and Chairman of Presidente, are today announcing a new initiative called “Step Up To the Plate” that will look to provoke change and create more opportunities for Hispanic students interested in a career in sports.

A summer-long program, this initiative will help fuel a pipeline of qualified candidates into the business side of the industry by offering internship and networking opportunities, as well as financial support.

In partnership with the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, the ‘Step Up to the Plate’ program has awarded nine deserving students a three-month paid internship working on projects across the business that include a strategic sports focus, in collaboration with the Sports Marketing team at Anheuser-Busch – one of the biggest sponsors in sport for almost 40 years.

In addition to the internship, the program awards each student a grant for living expenses in a combined package worth approximately $15K, as well as the opportunity to join Anheuser-Busch in a full-time role following graduation.

“We recognize that the need to diversify leadership in sports is greater than ever, and as a brand that champions the progression of Hispanic culture, we’re more than thrilled to announce this program,” said Alex Monroy, Senior Brand Director of Presidente at Anheuser-Busch. “Step Up to the Plate is meant to bridge the gap between accessibility and opportunity for these students, and ultimately arm them with the tools and experience to “Be the Presidente” of their career in sports.”

In addition to the selected interns, Presidente will give anyone an opportunity to tune into a virtual Q&A session led by none other than former Yankee player, business mogul and Chairman of Presidente, Alex Rodriguez. Presidente intends for this initiative to be the first push in leveling the playing field for aspiring Hispanic graduates with a passion for sports. As such, the program recipients will begin their internships in Mid-June and will be placed across the Anheuser-Busch marketing team so they can best learn the ins and outs of the business.

In the jungle of mighty e-bikes, Himiway has released its latest fat tire, the Zebra. With its broad shoulders and brawny physique, it effortlessly straddles various terrains. At the $1800-$2300 price point. It is the predecessor for the Cruiser, gracefully tackling errands on a daily concrete safari.

Coming in as the lowest price point from Himiway, the Zebra is an affordable option for e-bike lovers in search of a compelling creature. Suitable for the average commuter or the adventuresome, the Zebra has an array of features that set it apart from the rest.

The Bronx is our favorite testing ground due to its steep hills, deep potholes, and ominous sinkholes. Putting the Zebra to the ultimate test, we’ve discovered the true selling points of the e-bike.

Curb Appeal

The Himiway sports a strong design, renowned for its sleek, black look. The use of the stripes along the body resembles the look of the real-life animal, turning heads left and right. Not quite yet the king of the jungle, the Zebra allows users to take on the jungle in a classic and robust form furnished with lustrous styling. Available in a separate colorway of graphite or slate gray, the e-bike has the look of a true beast. Himiway shows that functionality and reliability can be as captivating as a wild animal in their natural habitat.

Design 

Sporting a comfortable dismount, you’ll never having to tilt the unit sideways, making the Zebra is excellent for all sizes. The integrated rear light and 48V LED headlamp is bright, creating flawless visibility. Its hoofs are 26 × 4 so you can courageously clear many road obstacles such as sinking in mud or snow and slipping on the ground. The alloy pedals showcase reflectors for added awareness to surrounding beings. Beware of abnormally high curbs with metal lips, its spokes are vulnerable to them. Unlike its Cobra counterpart’s textured skin, it is mane has been swapped out for a foot-long raised sticker. Though both the Himiway’s could be seen sneaking around the savanna, the Zebra stands out among the pack with a chic look. 

Showcasing a 960Wh battery and 52 5000mAh cells, range, stability, and safety are maximized to the fullest potential. Navigating rich terrains or just riding around the concrete jungle is easy when one charge of the Zebra will last you up to 60 miles with over 80+ miles in pedal assist. The 7-gear shift system along with pedal assist climbs ascending asphalt in dry or inclement weather. The faux-leather handle grips rival sweaty palms, though they’re easily replaceable. Understeering is unavoidable but doesn’t greatly impact overall performance. 

The battery itself is large and heavy. Luckily, it’s very easy to remove and charge when need be; you only need to insert and twist the provided key. The Zebra has an impressive range of 60 to 80 miles without pedaling, with maximized power at 750W with 86Nm max motor torque. Comparable to the extreme force of the true animal running at speeds up to 40mph, we see the motorized form reach speeds of up to 23mph. The charging time is about 7 hours until fully charge.

Performance

We see an elevation of strength to graze through grounds with the extreme 750W gear hub motor equipped with an inner ring. Created to endure the roughest landscape out there, navigating just got a whole lot easier with the advancement on the profound motor. Energy can be seamlessly dispersed throughout the layout of the e-bike, allowing for us to 86Nm max torque. 

The braking system performs beautifully. Tektro 180MM hydraulic disc brakes help force the model to a stop and for something as heavy as the Himiway is, it’s able to stop and start again effectively and easily. 

Durability 

While reliable, it’s also one of the heaviest of its class, weighing a whopping 79 pounds. Compare that to the Cruiser, which only weighs 72 pounds. The latter can hold 400 pounds, fifty greater than the former. In addition, Himiway employs high quality 6061 aluminum to give the bike unparalleled durability.

Its reserved fork accommodates wider tires which allows you to upgrade to 4.8-inch tires. The integrated design gives you protection from inclement weather, eliminating up to 98% of common mechanical failures.

The 26-inch Kenda fat tires allow for great traction, which ensures minimum sliding on the ground and plummeting through messy landscape. We’ve found that the smooth grip is perfect for light terrains.

Ergonomics/Safety

Himiway’s Zebra utilizes a soft tail adjustable seat, allowing for easy access to tweak seat height. Crafted to fit those between 5’3 to 6’3, the e-bike showcases both a step over and step thru model, catering to differing demographics. The step through, formerly an attribute of an effeminate frame, allows for great weight redistribution, which the male buyer has taken notice in.  

Riding with the Zebra reminisces wildlife quests that are full of smooth yet thrilling. No matter where your journey may take you, Himiway confirms that you won’t get too dirty along the way. With front and back fenders, the e-bike comes fully equipped to protect from water, rain, and rough terrain. Keeping your clothing and the e-bike’s exterior fresh and clean, the fenders provide added ease. The rear rack conveniently allows for easy storage while on a mail or grocery run. The heavy-duty aluminum kickstand firmly poses itself while running other errands as well.  

While a little heavy, the Zebra is amazing for those who yearn for long distance, light terrain adventures.

The new mix is featured on their forthcoming remastered and expanded edition of their career-spanning greatest hits collection, Sounds Of Summer: The Very Best Of The Beach Boys, due June 17 via Capitol Records/UMe. Originally released in 2003, the album soared to No. 16 in the US and stayed on the chart for 104 weeks. Now certified 4x platinum for sales of nearly four and a half million albums, the new edition has been updated in both number of songs and sonics as it expands the original 30-track best of with 50 more of the band’s most beloved songs for a total of 80 tracks that span their earliest hits to deeper fan-favorite cuts. Additionally, all 30 tracks on disc 1 of Sounds Of Summer have been mixed in immersive Dolby Atmos, joining the group’s Christmas Album which was mixed in spatial audio and released this past holiday season, and continuing the initiative to present the group’s catalog in the enveloping and exciting new audio format.

Sixty years after first transmitting their good vibrations around the globe, The Beach Boys, the first American pop band to reach the 60-year milestone, remain one of the most legendary and influential groups to date, with their timeless music reverberating through modern culture today as strong as ever. In celebration of their 60th anniversary, UMethe global catalog company of UMG, is pleased to be a part of some of the major initiatives planned to celebrate “America’s Band” throughout 2022-23.

The timeless music of The Beach Boys will be featured in several innovative official new music videos that are in the works along with a slate of lyric videos and visualizers to present these classic songs in the modern video era.

Following the release of Sounds of Summer, this fall Capitol/UMe will release the next chapter in The Beach Boys’ archival releases, which will explore the bands often overlooked but pivotal albums, 1972’s Carl and the Passions – “So Tough” and 1973’s Holland. The deluxe multi-disc set follows last year’s acclaimed boxed set Feel Flows – The Sunflower and Surf’s Up Sessions 1969-1971 that topped many critic’s year-end lists and chronicled and explored the metamorphic and highly influential 1969-1971 period of the band’s [ career through tons of unreleased tracks, live recordings, radio promos, alternate versions, alternate mixes, isolated backing tracks and a cappella versions, culled from the album sessions. More details will be revealed at a later date.

Besides the new music releases from Capitol/UMe, The Beach Boys are also catching new waves by participating in a feature length documentary currently in the works, a tribute special, prestigious exhibitions and events, unique brand partnerships, and much more to celebrate their 60th anniversary.

Multi-faceted artist and producer Mallrat announces her 2022 World Tour to take her brand new, critically acclaimed debut record, Butterfly Blue on the road, with headline shows and festivals across Europe, the UK, North America and Australia. The highly anticipated album was released on May 13th to praise from NPR, Teen Vogue, NME, PAPER, MTV and more, and marks a triumphant debut from Mallrat, solidifying her reputation as a master of clever, timeless pop.

Hot off the heels of an opening stint for Conan Gray in the UK and Europe, the new tour will see Mallrat playing new tracks from the album such as “To You,” which comes fresh off the back of the year’s most unexpected collaboration, “Surprise Me (feat. Azealia Banks),” and its much loved predecessors “Your Love,” “Teeth” and “Rockstar.”

Sweeping across vast, airy production, Butterfly Blue is often surprising, with samples and sounds tucked under the surface: chopped-up Gangsta Pat bars, a flipped recording of a children’s choir performing Lisztomania, and more. Distorted effects were recorded from discarded children’s toys – a sonic gift from producer Clams Casino. Layered like an instrument all their own, her signature breathy vocals are more assured than ever.
