Instantly recognizable with its fifty-three facets with pointed ends, it repreises the star-shaped monogram flower created by Georges-Louis Vuitton in 1896. A bold, graphic cut, with a brand new outline to make the sleek authentic jewels sparkle like never before. 

The Creations

The exclusive pieces in the LV Diamonds collection designed by Artistic Director for Watches and Jewelry, Francesca Amfitheatrof, showcase LV Monogram Star and brilliant diamond cuts. Rings, unisex bands with understated yet bold designs, earrings and pendants are all tributes to the Mainson’s signature aesthetic. The platinum, rose gold or half-aveed rings rekindle the Art Deco-style V with the Gaston-Louis Vuitton would have adorn his suitcases in the 1920s and 1930s. An even more precious version is enhanced with a central LV Monogram Star diamond, while another one dominates over other rings made of platinum, encrusted or entirely paved with diamonds. THanks to the Louis Vuitton jewelers’ expertise, this monogram flower is turned into a bezel, with tiny V-shaped claws embracing the curves and edges of this rare gem. Playful and graphic, irresistible bands complete the collection with a sparkling checkerboard that calls to mind the Damier canvas created by Georges Vuitton in 1888. Louis Vuitton presents the first LV Diamonds certificate. This document reflects their commitment to transparently sourcing their gemstones. Provided with each LV Diamonds creation set with a central stone, this unique file lists each diamond’s weight, color, purity and cut quality. It also tracks its journey, from the country where the diamond was extracted until its arrival in its case, through the workshops where it was cut, polished and mounted. Each chapter in the story of an LV Diamonds creation is written down, thus carefully documented. In order to reinforce such a certificate’s security, Louis Vuitton uses blockchain. This modern technology, operated by Aura Blockchain Consortium – a platform dedicated to the luxury industry – allows for the recording and issuing of forgery-proof data thanks to decentralized storage. This solves many issues related to responsible sourcing, as well as the diamond’s durability since the platform provides direct access to the stone’s history, and its life cycle from its creation to its distribution.

The event took place on Aug. 25 at Aspen Valley Polo Club in Carbondale, Colorado. Polestar, the Swedish premium electric performance car company, has signed a multi-year agreement to supply battery and charging systems to the Swedish hydrofoil electric boat company, Candela. The agreement marks one of the world’s first direct battery technology collaborations between companies from the automotive and marine industries.

As leading EV brands in their respective sectors, both Polestar and Candela share common values of innovative design and commitments to sustainability. Utilizing computer-guided hydrofoils which lift the hull above water, Candela’s electric boats ‘fly’ above the surface and use up to 80% less energy at high speeds compared to traditional motorboats.

Candela’s crafts produce zero emissions and minimal noise, combining a light environmental footprint with better passenger comfort and a smoother cruising experience compared to traditional boats. By combining Polestar’s batteries with Candela’s pioneering electric hydrofoil technology, both companies aim to propel the growth of sustainable electric mobility in society.

Americans are streaming to Türkiye in unprecedented numbers according to figures released today by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism. While tourism worldwide plummeted in 2020 and 2021 because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of Americans visiting Türkiye in the first half of 2022 is up 76.8% over the same period of 2019 before the pandemic struck.

“This is an extraordinary and exciting result,” says Yalçın Lokmanhekim, the General Manager of TGA, Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency, underscoring not only Turkish tourism’s recovery from the pandemic, but also highlighting how Americans are vacationing in Türkiye in record-breaking numbers. 

Number one destination in Türkiye for Americans is the city of Istanbul, with phenomenal interest in discovering other parts of this country that spans both Europe and Asia. After Istanbul, Americans’ favorite destinations currently include the Turkish Aegean coast, the city of Izmir, and the unique landscapes of Cappadocia in the east of the country.

213,000 Americans visited Türkiye in January through June 2019, with 377,000 in the same period of 2022.

MARVEL MEETS MURDERWORLD

Let the games begin! This November, Marvel’s greatest heroes will confront the full terror of MURDERWORLD in a new saga!

Crafted by writers Jim Zub (Conan the BarbarbianAvengers: No Surrender) and Ray Fawkes (One SoulConstantine), this five-part series will plunge readers into the darkest depths of Arcade’s Murderworld, the classic location that’s caused mayhem in the Marvel Universe for decades!
