Candy Crush Survey

According to a new survey by King, makers of Candy Crush Saga, over half of Americans are playing mobile games during their work breaks.

The new survey finds that individuals are using their work breaks to play mobile games in order to unwind and have some fun – and, as an added bonus, these short stints of gameplay make them feel more productive, no matter where they’re working.

Many Americans today are working in new ways and new schedules outside of typical hours, resulting in added stress and lack of focus. The survey reveals that playing games like Candy Crush Saga can increase one’s energy levels and even boost both productivity and work quality.

Here are the data highlights:

  • A huge 83% of employed Americans play mobile games
  • Over one in two employed mobile gamers (55%) play during breaks in their workday
  • Among those who play at work, 65% choose to take a break with their mobile game compared to 56% who choose a cup of coffee
  • The Gen Z workforce turns to mobile gaming over unwinding with a cup of coffee or tea, with more than half (58%) playing mobile games during work breaks
  • More than three quarters (76%) of Candy Crush players surveyed find that playing the hit game makes them feel more efficient and capable of producing better work

About Doja Cat

Born and raised in L.A., Doja Cat made her first upload to Soundcloud in 2013 at just 16-years-old. She developed a knack for music by studying piano and dance as a kid and listening to the likes of Busta Rhymes, Erykah Badu, Nicki Minaj, Drake, and more. Soon, she went from obsessing over Catwoman (the Halle Berry version) to “crate digging” on YouTube. The budding talent taught herself Logic and how to compose on a midi controller.

Signed to RCA during 2014, she has released her Purrr! EP and followed with her debut album Amala in spring 2018but it was her August 2018 release of “Mooo!” which catapulted her into the mainstream and was met with critical acclaim. Tyga which appears on her sophomore album Hot Pink, released in November. She made her late night debut performance of the track on Late Night with Seth Meyers. She was also named the iHeart Radio “On The Verge” artist, with “Juicy” reaching #1 on the Rhythm radio chart and top 10 at Urban. Hot Pink has received rave reviews in the press and continues to be recognized as her strongest work to date with over 750 million streams and video views combined.

Live, Doja has played numerous festivals and live shows including Rap Caviar Live Miami, Posty Fest, Day n Vegas, Rolling Loud LA and will play Coachella, Rolling Loud Miami, Broccoli City Fest and others this spring.

2020 kicked off another amazing year for the hybrid artist with the success of her single “Say So” continuing to climb the charts. She delivered an electrifying performance of the track on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon earlier this year. The track is RIAA certified platinum, is currently #1 at Rhythm radio, #3 at Top 40 radio, #5 on the Billboard Hot 100, has over 90 million video views, and over 20 million Tik Tok videos created. The track has been streamed nearly half a billion times worldwide.

iann dior – Sick And Tired

iann dior has released a new song and video “Sick And Tired” featuring Machine Gun Kelly and Travis Barker, out now on 10K Projects. Produced by Omer Fedi (24kGoldn, Ella Mai, Trevor Daniel) and Travis Barker, “Sick And Tired” will feature on iann dior’s upcoming EP, I’m Gone, out this May. Produced by Noan Riddle and Infinity Studios, and debuted this morning by Complex, check out the Mooch directed video for “Sick And Tired” HERE.

“Sick And Tired” arrives on the heels of iann’s headlining nationwide ‘Industry Plant Tour’, which kicked off January 15 in Santa Ana, and wrapped up on February 20 with a sold-out show at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles. iann released his debut album Industry Plant, in November 2019 – the project has since garnered over 190 million Spotify streams and over 60 million SoundCloud plays. The album includes the infectious hit singles “gone girl” featuring Trippie Redd, “Strings” featuring Gunna, and “Darkside” featuring Travis Barker.

Born in Puerto Rico and raised in Corpus Christi, iann found instant success with the first song he ever wrote. “I was in high school and my friends told me to make a song because they knew I was good at writing,” he remembers. Despite his lack of experience, the track earned 10,000 plays in a week, all through word-of-mouth. iann then began putting out a song a week, drawing more and more listeners, and eventually catching the ear of Internet Money founder Taz Taylor.

After arriving in L.A., iann started working with producer Nick Mira, and they went on to release “Cutthroat” together in February 2019. Within a month of its release, “Cutthroat” had amassed over 13 million streams on SoundCloud, and iann began to gain a major buzz for his moody and melodic brand of lo-fi hip-hop. iann’s rapid rise on SoundCloud brought him to the attention of 10K Projects who immediately signed him and released his debut mixtape nothing’s ever good enough in April2019. The mixtape features the single “Emotions”— a heavy-hearted but deeply infectious track that racked up three million plays in just a month. A year later and the track has over 98 million plays on Spotify and continues to grow.

In discussing his process, iann reveals that the dreamy and fluid feel of his music has much to do with his purely instinctive creative approach. “Anytime I hear a beat that I love, it’ll bring out the story I want to tell,” he says. “I’ll start humming the melody and the words will follow that—it’s all just whatever comes out of my head right in the moment.” At the same time, iann’s lyrics mine inspiration from the reflective, narrative-based songwriting of artists like J. Cole. “The whole reason I started making music was J. Cole,” iann points out. “He showed me that I could use songs to tell my own story, just like he uses his songs to tell his story.”
