DKMS Donor Milestone

DKMS, the world’s largest network of bone marrow and blood stem cell donor centers, announced it has reached 10 million registered potential donors worldwide. Every 35 seconds, someone in the world is diagnosed with blood cancer and only 30 percent of patients find suitable bone marrow and blood stem cell donors in their family. Today, we are honoring our donor community and sharing our mission to recruit #10MillionMore potential donors worldwide.

The need to continue to expand our donor network has only intensified as we enter a new normal and face the COVID-19 crisis. For donors who are currently scheduled for blood stem cell donations or for those still looking for a match, a level of uncertainty exists. Access to treatments has become limited and hospital resources scarce. Additionally, we know that racial health disparities are at an all time high, making the need for diverse donors crucial. For this reason, DKMS is leading an international approach to significantly increase the number of available potential donors annually, while working to diversify the donor pool to ensure all patients, regardless of their ethnic background, can find the lifesaver they need.

“Every day, we work together with families, communities, and organizations to recruit more donors and provide more second chances at life for patients suffering from blood cancers or blood disorders,” said Agata Maraszek-Dudek, Chief Operating Officer at DKMS. “With this team of 10 million strong potential lifesavers, we are even more fixed on our core mission of finding a lifesaving match for everyone. We are not stopping here.”

With 10 million available donors and nearly 85,000 transplants facilitated, DKMS is the largest network of donor centers in the world. With 40 percent of all unrelated blood stem cell transplants worldwide made possible by DKMS donors. Registration is simple and includes an eligibility and health screening, and swabbing each cheek for 30 seconds to collect cells for use in matching with a patient. For more information on DKMS and how you can register, please visit dkms.org.

About DKMS

DKMS is an international non-profit organization dedicated to the fight against blood cancer. Founded in 1991 in Germany by Dr. Peter Harf, DKMS has expanded internationally by establishing entities in the US, Poland, the UK, Chile, together with BMST in India and in South Africa together with The Sunflower Fund partnered by DKMS. Together, they have registered more than 10 million potential blood stem cell donors and have given more than 84,000 patients across the globe a second chance at life by facilitating blood stem cell transplants.

His new record production is called “PLATÓNICOS”, and it is without place to doubt, one of the most awaited urban music albums by fans of gender. It is made up of 12 songs produced by the “father” of reggaeton Dj Nelson, with the collaboration with other major producers.

A song very special for the singer, since he himself confessed that it is his favorite song of the entire album “First God, I thank my audience for so much support, you keep my humility intact and the desire to fight for my dreams is on the surface. This disk is the fruit of much effort and I hope you love it, “said Wheeler. Enjoy “PLATÓNICOS” on your favorite digital platform.

JAY WHEELER SURPRISES WITH FRESH SOUND IN “TAKE MY LIFE” FEATURING TYLA YAWEH, WHICH WILL BE PART OF HIS UPCOMING URBAN ENGLISH ALBUM

Today, promising Latin music star, Jay Wheeler released his brand new single and music video “Take My Life” featuring Tyla Yaweh. 360 Magazine was delighted at the energetic energy, passionate lyricism, and flawless production of the sizzling single.

Jay Wheeler is one of the most prominent Latin artists of the moment, garnering over a billion streams and multi-platinum records in the United States and Spain. Recently, his single “Viendo El Techo” (20 million views on YouTube) reached the #1 spot at Billboard’s Latin Airplay and Latin Rhythmic charts, which came after winning the “Nueva Generacion Masculina” award at Univision’s Premios Juventud, continuing to position himself as one of the most sought after Latin artists of this generation.

With “Take My Life,” Jay presents a brand-new side of him completely in English for the first time ever, and mixing 00s emo-punk guitar riffs with today’s alt-pop sounds in a song that talks about losing a love over a mistake you’ve made. “Take My Life” is just a preview of what we’ll see from Jay Wheeler in his new urban English album that will drop in the fall of 2021.

“I used to believe // The love that we had was forever but now I cant let it go // And I couldnt leave // Ive seen in your face that I lost all your trust // And I cant let it go, I lost my soul // I even tried to take my life,” Jay Wheeler sings as the song begins, giving us a glimpse of what the story is about.

For this song, Jay Wheeler teamed up with Tyla Yaweh, the Post Malone-discovered rapper and songwriter, who also steps away from his comfort zone to really showcase his artistic versatility.

“Im so happy to finally present you with this project. Its something Ive always wanted to do and I think it really shows the range of what Im capable of doing. Teaming up with Tyla Yaweh was incredible too, I feel like he really brought the song together and I learned a lot from him in the process, ”Jay Wheeler said.

The music video, directed by Nuno Gomes takes place in an enchanted forest with a lot of ethereal creatures that give life to the story as Jay Wheeler searches for his lost love before it’s too late.

Jay Wheeler became known after a video of him singing went viral in 2016. Thanks to his newfound fame, he decided to pursue a career in music, eventually signing with Dynamic Records in 2018. He went on to release two albums produced by famed DJ Nelson: Platnico (2019) and Platnicos (2020), which included the mega hit that really catapulted him to fame, La Curiosidad“ feat. Myke Towers (592 million views on YouTube).

After the most successful year of his career, he kicked off 2021 experimenting with different genres and sounds, continuing to rake in massive streaming numbers in the 9 and 10 digits, and proving he truly is “la voz favorita” (the favorite voice). We can’t wait to hear whats next from this visionary artist.

Both dishes pair well with Martell Blue Swift, served on its own or over ice, to create a bold statement, exactly how Martell likes it. Here are two unique and international recipes that will be sure to impress all guests at your Father’s Day dinner.

  • 45g madras curry powder
  • 30g canola or other neutral oil
  • 90g coconut oil
  • 2 shallots, peeled and diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, peeled and minced
  • 30g soy sauce, plus additional as needed
  • 15g honey
  • chiles, seeded and minced
  • 3 cups cooked white rice, cooled
  • 2 limes, 1 juiced and 1 quartered
  • 1/2 cup crushed pistachios
  • 28g dried mushrooms
  • 400ml hot water
  • 50ml soy sauce
  • 45g agave
  • 10g red miso
  • 10g ginger, grated
  • 20g cornstarch
  • 20g water

Vegan Oyster Sauce

  1. Put the dried mushrooms into a container and put the hot water over the mushrooms, making sure they are fully submerged.
  2. Let the mushrooms soak for at least an hour.
  3. Add the mushrooms and the soaking liquid to a blender and blend until smooth.
  4.  In a medium sauce pan add the mushroom mixture, soy sauce, agave, miso and ginger and bring to a simmer.
  5. Reduce heat to low and cook until the mixture begins to thicken (about 8 mins).
  6. Mix together cornstarch and water and add to the pot cooking down for 5 minutes or until thickened.
  7. Allow to cool and refrigerate for up to 2 months.

Rice

  1. Place a large skillet over medium heat the cardamom, all spice, black pepper and white pepper. Toast, shaking the pan occasionally, until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add the curry powder, shake again and toast for 1 minute more. Scrape the toasted-curry-powder blend into a small bowl using a rubber spatula, and set aside.
  2. Add the oils to a skillet and when they melt, add the shallots and garlic. Lower the heat, and cook, stirring frequently, until the shallots are soft and translucent, 5 to 8 minutes.
  3. Raise the heat to medium. Stir in the toasted-curry-powder blend, followed by 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 1/2 tablespoons vegan oyster sauce and the honey. Cook, stirring occasionally, until thickened, 3 to 5 minutes. Add chilies to taste, then adjust the levels of soy sauce and oyster sauce if you want to go a little saltier or sweeter. Scrape the curry paste into the small bowl.
  4.  To finish the dish, add the 2 tablespoons of Miyokos to the skillet, and heat over medium-high. When the butter melts and foams, flake the rice into it, and allow it to crisp slightly, then stir a few heaping tablespoons of curry paste into the rice to season to taste. Finish with chopped pistachios and lime juice to taste.
  5. Serve with lime wedges alongside blistered prawns or on its own.
  6. Transfer remaining curry paste to a lidded container. Let cool, cover and refrigerate up to 1 month.

Candy Crush Survey

According to a new survey by King, makers of Candy Crush Saga, over half of Americans are playing mobile games during their work breaks.

The new survey finds that individuals are using their work breaks to play mobile games in order to unwind and have some fun – and, as an added bonus, these short stints of gameplay make them feel more productive, no matter where they’re working.

Many Americans today are working in new ways and new schedules outside of typical hours, resulting in added stress and lack of focus. The survey reveals that playing games like Candy Crush Saga can increase one’s energy levels and even boost both productivity and work quality.

Here are the data highlights:

  • A huge 83% of employed Americans play mobile games
  • Over one in two employed mobile gamers (55%) play during breaks in their workday
  • Among those who play at work, 65% choose to take a break with their mobile game compared to 56% who choose a cup of coffee
  • The Gen Z workforce turns to mobile gaming over unwinding with a cup of coffee or tea, with more than half (58%) playing mobile games during work breaks
  • More than three quarters (76%) of Candy Crush players surveyed find that playing the hit game makes them feel more efficient and capable of producing better work
