At the BMW Welt in Munich, Germany, we had an opportunity to witness the much-anticipated BMW 3.0 CSL (Coupe Sport Lightweight), which honors the 50th Anniversary of BMW M and its storied racing passion. Fifty of these prestigious and mostly hand-built machines will be produced by a special team of 30 associates at BMW M GmbH in Munich.
The original 3.0 CSL (E9) aka “The Batmobile” was engineered in 1972 and competed in 1973 where it won the Nürburgring 6 Hours driven by Amon and Stuck. A 2015 3.0 CSL concept, on display at the BMW Museum, also served as an inspiration for the newly introduced 50th Anniversary 3.0 CSL by BMW M.
The current RWD BMW 3.0 CSL features unique carbon fiber bodywork, a 560-horsepower 3.0-liter straight 6-cylinder M TwinPower Turbo gas engine, a 6-speed manual transmission, 20” and 21” lightweight rims, and mechanically adjustable full carbon bucket seats. Pricing is set at around 750,000 Euros, but unfortunately, the vehicle will not make it to the US. Are you ready for an exclusive high-performance experience?
Winter Lights, a presentation by the High Line and luxury automaker Genesis, was a fantasy illumination. It has been one of the first auto activations on the tracks. They unveiled one of their newest models in tandem with some of the most acclaimed car enthusiasts as well as world-class media. At its climax, esteemed guests retired to an open-air market, Genesis House. It was there, where participants could look closely at some of the newly introduced capitals of art, including the most talked-about electric vehicles. In true Korean style, the multi-purpose space was an opportunity for us to engage and explore in an interlaced design kingdom. A Michelin-winning culinary team produced a menu of small bites and artisanal cocktails that we took from the geometric seaside establishment.
“It is a pleasure to partner with the Friends of the High Line and create an immersive experience for people to see as they walk through such a beautiful park,” said Claudia Marquez, chief operating officer of Genesis Motor North America. “The first year of Genesis House has been filled with many amazing memories. We are proud to be celebrating a year within this vibrant community and look forward to the future.”
Additionally, today, Genesis through its corporate social responsibility initiative, Genesis Gives, announced the continued partnership with New York City based Girls Who Code. The brand is donating $50,000 to support women and nonbinary individuals in STEM education by equipping them with the necessary skills and resources to succeed in computer science.
“Seeing the Winter Lights installation light up the High Line is the perfect way to kick off this festive season,” said Joshua David, Friends of the High Line co-founder and interim executive director. “With many shared sustainability goals and a deep passion for community, Genesis is the perfect partner for the High Line. We are excited to see what the future holds.”
The Winter Lights Powered by Genesis installation will be open to the public from Nov. 30 through Jan. 2 and can be found on the High Line between 15th and 16th Streets in the Chelsea Market Passage. Visitors can enter the High Line via stairs at 16th Street or via stairs or elevator at 14th Street to access the installation.

About Wizkid:
Grammy award winning singer/songwriter Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun (aka Wizkid) began his career in music when he was just 11 years old in Lagos, Nigeria. His first record, Lil Prinz, was recorded in 2001 in collaboration with Glorious Five, a group consisting of Balogun and his friends from church. In 2006, he started pursuing music full-time, at first collaborating with various Nigerian pop acts including OJB Jezreel, Naeto C, and Banky W. By 2011, he was ready to record his debut studio album as a solo artist: Superstar was released via Empire Mates Entertainment to great critical and public acclaim across Africa, propelling him to stardom in his home country. After multiple delays and label disagreements, Balogun released his sophomore album titled Ayo in 2014. This second studio album had a multitude of guest appearances, including a spot from Femi Kuti. It also featured Balogun’s global breakthrough track “Ojuelegba.” Not only did the single cement his status as one of Nigeria’s biggest pop acts, it was also picked up and remixed by Drake and Skepta, thrusting Wizkid into the international spotlight. In return, Wizkid appeared on Drake‘s 2016 smash single “One Dance.”
In March 2017, it was announced that Wizkid had signed a major deal with RCA and Sony International, which released his third LP, Sounds From the Other Side, later that year. A handful of singles appeared in advance of the album, including “Daddy Yo”, “Sweet Love” and “Come Closer”, and were successful; the latter is certified Gold in the USA and the UK .
Following his impressive international campaign, Wizkid refocused energy on his Starboy imprint in Africa. From releasing viral records like “Soco” with his affiliate acts to securing partnerships with brands such as Puma, Wizkid has solidified himself as a millennial pioneer for African entertainment. As an ode to his hometown, Wizkid released his fourth full-length project titled Made in Lagos in 2020 with guest appearances from Burna Boy, Skepta, Damian Marley, H.E.R, Ella Mai, and more. The album is the highest charting Nigerian album on the Billboard 200 of all time, the longest charting Nigerian album of the century on Billboard World Albums chart, and the first and only African album to be RIAA certified Gold in the US with half a million in sale units. Hit single “Essence” became the first Nigerian song to feature on the Billboard Hot 100 and peak #1 on US urban radio. Made in Lagos, along with his Grammy award winning feature with Beyonce and five sellout shows at the o2 Arena, prove Wizkid’s movement to be one of lasting global impact.
Explores Japanese Fly Fishing, Available November 5
Reebok and Japanese clothing brand SOUTH2 WEST8 have announced their first collaborative project, the SOUTH2 WEST8 x Reebok Zig Kinetica II Edge, utilizing technical elements and aesthetics that explore the traditional Japanese fly-fishing method, “Tenkara.” The SOUTH2 WEST8 x Reebok Zig Kinetica II Edge ($170, FZ5857) is available November 5 exclusively from SOUTH2 WEST8 and in Japan before its wider global release on November 18 from Reebok.com and select retailers.
Founded in 2003 by Kaname Nagaoka, SOUTH2 WEST8 develops clothing and gear specifically for “Tenkara” fly fishing, with fashion as a key design element. In collaboration with Reebok, the Sapporo-based clothing store has applied its unique point of view to Reebok’s Zig Kinetica II Edge, a technical, outdoor-inspired modern interpretation of the brand’s iconic Zig sport style shoe.
“We were inspired by a visual of an outdoor field colliding with an urban city and the idea of linking the two,” commented SOUTH2 WEST8’s brand director. “SOUTH2 WEST8 holds little interest in designs that are overly sophisticated or high-tech, in favor of those that are athletically functional. In this respect, the Zig design aptly maintains its functionality, while possessing decorative and assertive elements with great visual volume and presence. These characteristics make it a perfect match for SOUTH2 WEST8 wear.”
The SOUTH2 WEST8 x Reebok Zig Kinetica II Edge features a textile camouflage upper embellished by lush-green suede overlays, a spiky rubber toe cap, green laces, and a green heel loop completing the military-inspired look. At the bottom, a black and grey midsole encapsulates responsive Floatride Fuel cushioning above an anti-slip 30% pre-consumer recycled Vibram Ecostep lugged outsole.
“By incorporating symbolic SOUTH2 WEST8 textile designs, we were able to further enhance the affinity between our two brands,” continued SOUTH2 WEST8. “I think this shoe will be appreciated by people who love the outdoors, by fashion-devotees, and by those who are not satisfied with the same things as everyone around them.”
The SOUTH2 WEST8 x Reebok Zig Kinetica II Edge ($170, FZ5857) is available November 5 exclusively from SOUTH2 WEST8 and in Japan before its wider global release on November 18 from Reebok.com and select retailers.
About SOUTH2 WEST8
