Prada is delighted to announce the June 2023 installment of its Timecapsule NFT Collection. Featuring a floral pattern, the drop on June 1st is a celebration of the upcoming summer period.

For drop #42 of the Timecapsule collection, Prada designed a tank top in floral-patterned jacquard terry cloth, an upcycled fabric from the Prada Archive. It features the iconic Prada enameled triangle logo on the front and the month June on the back. Each shirt comes accompanied with its own gifted NFT, serving as an invitation to join Prada’s exclusive Crypted NFT community on Discord.
In May 2022, Prada pushed further from the physical world into Web3 by creating its very own community which is inclusive and open to all. Rolls-Royce Motor Cars reveals Ghost ‘Champagne Rose,’ a magnificent Bespoke commission highlighting Rolls-Royce Bespoke Collective’s mastery of color. Commissioned by the self-made musician from South Florida, this Bespoke creation takes its name and inspiration from the client’s digital persona, @ChampagneRose. The client challenged the Bespoke Collective to capture her personality with a Bespoke signature color, reserved exclusively for her use. 

The journey began with the client spending four days viewing, inspecting, and driving the entire Rolls‑Royce model family to select the one that would best suit her eclectic lifestyle. She chose Ghost as a motor car she could both enjoy driving herself and being chauffeured in, offering a pure canvas for celebration of her success.

VISION IN PINK

The Rolls-Royce Bespoke Collective’s greatest challenge task was to create the perfect Bespoke color hue to express the client’s persona. The search began with a mood board of nearly one hundred color swatches of varying pink hues, which the client shared with the Bespoke Collective at Goodwood. Following an extensive analysis and examination of her work and preferences, they developed 30 paint samples, from which the final ‘Champagne Rose’ color was selected.

Executed on nearly every surface of this unique commission, the ‘Champagne Rose’ Bespoke color presented the team with an opportunity to accentuate Ghost’s pure, minimalist design. The ‘Champagne Rose’ exterior with a Crystal finish produces an elegant, shimmering effect, highlighted with a single hand-painted coachline featuring a ‘Champagne Rose’ inscription. Matching wheel centers and single pinstripes complete the exterior finish.

A LABOR OF LOVE

The monochromatic interior continues to immerse the passengers in a daring splash of color, with the ‘Champagne Rose’ leather trim providing a contrast to the Piano Black veneers, black piping, and the interlinked RR monogram on the headrests.  Specialists from the Interior Trim Centre at Goodwood spent six months developing a Bespoke ‘Champagne Rose’ leather hue to perfectly match the exterior. Rigorous sun-simulation testing will ensure the color remains consistent over time in the Florida climate. The interior palette is completed with lambswool carpets, also in ‘Champagne Rose.’

Creating a single-tone colorway at the level of perfection expected from the Bespoke Collective is a highly complex undertaking. Because materials absorb and reflect light in their own way, the human eye will perceive slight variations if the same color is applied to different surfaces. To ensure the consistency of the color experience within the car, the Bespoke Collective, therefore, had to develop numerous formulations of the ‘Champagne Rose’ hue, each subtly adjusted 

ROSE MOTIF

To celebrate the personality of the client, the rear seat waterfall is adorned with a delicate rose motif. To ensure the design was exactly in accordance with the client’s wishes, the Interior Surface Centre experts spent several days experimenting with prototypes. The final design is created by combining multiple coats of paint and lacquer in a process that took over 14 hours to complete. The rose motif continues in the embroidery on the back of the picnic tables, each created with 5,500 individual stitches and representing over 30 hours of collective work.

The rose motif also appears on the Bespoke Starlight Headliner. Created by particular positioning of 482 from the 1,132 fiber-optic ‘stars’, this beautiful expression of the client’s persona took over 60 hours to design. Unique Bespoke backlit treadplates in the Champagne Rose color complete this exceptional commission.

Maryland rapper IDK releases F65 album on Warner Records via 360 MAGAZINE.

Every once in a while, an artist arrives at just the right time with a record that speaks truth to the world. In 2023, that artist is Maryland rapper IDK. That album is F65—which releases today via Clue/Warner Records. Listen HERE.

The 22-track opus traverses a thrilling landscape as it explores the experiences of people of color around the world – and what that reality means. Given this overarching theme’s provocative, poetic, and powerful nature, IDK also chose to incite discourse with often upbeat, always thoughtful songcraft covering a spectrum of vibes. The result is a dramatic, dynamic, danceable, and definitive hip-hop epic.

He jumpstarted the conversation with “Mr. Police,” which notably made its global debut on The Beat With Ari Melber. Lauded from the jump, HYPEBEAST applauded, “‘Mr. Police’ is a powerful single about police violence and the fear that people of color live with on a daily basis,” The FADER attested, “IDK turns the tempo down for a Steve Wonder-indebted ballad lamenting the police violence epidemic. Across F65’s 22 tracks, IDK exudes the kind of introspection that few rappers can emulate, teaming up with legendary composer Jim Lang (who’s known for scoring the Nickelodeon series Hey Arnold!) to display the full breadth of his artistic vision. Pride Month is rapidly approaching, and Marvel Comics is excited to reveal all of this year’s stunning PRIDE VARIANT COVERS! Yesterday, fans got to see LGBTQIA+ characters from the galaxy far, far away in all-new STAR WARS PRIDE VARIANT COVERS, and now it’s time to see some of Marvel’s most beloved LGBTQIA+ stars in six stunning PRIDE VARIANT COVERS by two superstar talents, Lucas Werneck and David Talaski!

Celebrating Pride all month long, these variant covers will grace comic stands each week of June with incredible depictions of LGBTQIA+ heroes from all corners of the Marvel Universe including longtime icons, rising stars, fan-favorites, and recent breakout characters. While Werneck captures the joy of Pride Month with characters paying tribute to Ballroom culture and gay nightlife, Talaski showcases the power of Pride Month with character’s strength and resilience on full display in striking portraits.

All six characters featured are currently impacting the Marvel mythos in ongoing series, limited series, upcoming launches, and more! Here’s the lineup of heroes highlight and the comics where you can currently find their stories:

·       Rachel Summers, aka Askani, the daughter of Jean Grey and Scott Summers from an alternate future, longtime Phoenix host, and overall mutant powerhouse, is currently fighting alongside Captain Britain in the pages of Betsy Braddock: Captain Britain!

·       Escapade, the breakout mutant hero from last year’s Marvel’s Voices: Pride, is currently learning how to use her one-of-a-kind powers and proving herself amongst the brightest heroes of the X-Men’s next generation in the limited series New Mutants: Lethal Legion!

·       Web-Weaver, the most fabulous hero in the Spider-Verse, slayed the runway and super villains alike in last year’s Edge of Spider-Verse and after recent appearances in Spider-Man and Marvel’s Voices: Spider-Verse, will headline his next solo adventure in this year’s MARVEL’S VOICES: PRIDE!

“The category is PRIDE! It was so fun to make these three covers. My idea was to put the characters in a Ballroom setting, living the best moment of their lives to remind ourselves to do the same. We’re beautiful the way we are and we deserve to shine and be happy,” Werneck said. “I’m so thrilled to be part of Marvel’s Pride celebration for a second year, this means a lot to me! I really hope fans enjoy these covers as much as I enjoyed making them!”

“I love comics, and it’s always exciting when I get to draw these characters, but it becomes an honor when it’s for my community of Queer comic fans,” Talaski said. “What makes getting to draw Aaron, Rachel and Daken special is that they’re all LGBTQIA+ characters from across 40 years of comics so it feels like I get to make something, not just for longtime fans, but for new ones as well.”

French Riviera Film Festival Announces 2023 Finalist Shorts and Unveils Official Festival Trailer

Festival to Feature Two Days of Screenings on May 19 and 20 at Eden Hotel & Spa in Cannes, Online Screenings on Sparq, Sixth Annual Global Entertainment Showcase and VIP Receptions

Scheduled from May 19-20, 2023, the fifth annual French Riviera Film Festival (FRFF), celebrating short film and short-form content from around the globe, is pleased to unveil the finalist shorts of the 2023 competition, the announcement was made today by festival co-founders Gotham Chandna and Nicole Goesseringer Muj.

First launched in 2019, FRFF recognizes and celebrates short-form content created for film, television, web and all digital platforms. Scheduled during the time period of the Festival de Cannes, FRFF invites filmmakers from around the globe to participate in the two-day event that includes screenings, Global Entertainment Showcase (to be announced shortly), VIP receptions, and closing gala awards ceremony.

“We’re pleased that our festival is celebrating its fifth year milestone,” comments Nicole Muj. “FRFF is becoming an established global festival, in celebration of the short film genre. We’re delighted to be in Cannes again this year.”

The festival will feature the works of filmmakers from more than 20 countries. The full list of finalist and honorable mention films in the award categories of Drama, Comedy, Documentary, Sci-Fi/Horror, Animation, Experimental, Lifestyle/Fashion, Music Video, Micro Short, and Activism is listed on the festival’s official website:  Finalists 2023 – French Riviera Film Festival 

The festival will kick-off with a special out-of-competition screening of the Oscar-nominated short Ivalu (Denmark/Greenland), by director Anders Walter, and producers Rebecca Pruzan and Kim Magnusson. Magnusson also received the FRFF Industry Excellence Award in 2022, in recognition of his stellar work in the global film industry.

At the official awards ceremony, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Audience, and Industry Excellence Awards will also be presented. Attendees and participants include filmmakers, industry executives, celebrities, media and influencers.

Free to attend festival screenings will be held live over two days from 10 am to 3 pm at the Eden Hotel & Spa (133 rue d’Antibes), with special ‘by invitation only’ receptions and awards events after each day’s screenings at the Bel-Air Fine Art Gallery and Eden Hotel. 

“For those who cannot make it to Cannes, we will also have our festival finalist and special mention films streamed online on SPARQ,” adds co-founder Gotham Chandna. “The festival’s virtual component allows for a much wider audience to enjoy the amazing work by our talented filmmakers.”

Shawni Davis is New York State’s first African American female master electrician with more than 15 years of experience in the construction industry. As a black woman in a male-dominated industry, she has set the standards for those following her footsteps, including working her way into leadership positions within the ranks of the largest union contractors on major projects all over the northeast. She has taken what she has learned throughout her career to earn her Unlimited Master’s License, and officially established Luminary Electrical Contractor, LLC in 2021. Luminary Electrical is certified as both a New York State Certified MBE & MWBE Business (minority-owned & woman-owned). 

A native of Syracuse New York, Davis started as an apprentice in the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers in 2007. In 2022, she made headlines when she introduced President Joe Biden during a major Micron Technology announcement in Syracuse, NY, but her story does not stop there. In March of 2023, President Biden then talked about Shawni’s journey at the SBA’s Women’s Business Summit in Washington DC at the White House.  Davis continues to mentor and give back to the community and those following her path. In fact, her dream is to change the industry by creating a business that reflects a diverse and inclusive workforce that possesses the same skills as those who dominate leadership in the industry today. Her skills as an electrician and a natural business leader, ensure Luminary’s longevity in the industry. 

Davis’ successful career is a direct reflection of her determination and skill set. She is a proud member of the LGBT community and a graduate of Henninger High School in Syracuse. She currently serves on the board of the National Electric Contractors Association (NECA) and the Central New York Community Foundation’s Black Equity & Excellence fund.

Davido – Timeless Tour

Gearing up for one of the summer’s hottest Afrobeats events, American-born Nigerian singer, songwriter, and producer Davido returns to the road in North America on the much-anticipated “TIMELESS TOUR” produced by Live Nation Urban (excluding DC, produced by Duke Concept).

Taking over the U.S. this summer, the two-week run launches on July 1 in Washington, D.C. at the Capital One Arena, rolls through arenas in Houston and Chicago, and concludes on July 15 in Toronto, Canada at the Budweiser Stage. This tour finds him in arenas everywhere, making for his biggest North American jaunt yet. Not to mention, he’ll be pulling out all the stops with production and the set in support of his acclaimed 2023 album, Timeless.
