Lastlings x “No Time”

Australia’s latest breakout act Lastlings today released their new ethereal single, “No Time,” on Astralwerks/Rose Avenue. The track arrives with an anime-style music video, inspired by their Japanese heritage and one of their favorite dystopian science fiction novels. The electronic sibling duo put their signature transportive lyricism and emotive pop soundscapes to work, cementing their unique brand of artistry with “No Time.”

Listen to “No Time” here and watch the video here

On the meaning behind the animated video, Lastlings share: “No Time” was inspired by Kazuo Ishiguro’s dystopian science fiction novel Never Let Me Go. As humans, we know and understand that our life spans are limited, but of course, it’s something that we push to the back of our minds. When we’re faced with this kind of knowledge, what do we do when we realize that we don’t have much longer? What are the things that quickly become matters of importance and what are the things we look back on that are really worthwhile? “No Time” is about releasing yourself from negative thoughts and growing from our disappointments and failures. It is also about living life to its fullest potential because as cliche as it may be, life really is short and everything happens for a reason.”

The animator reveals that “No Time” is a chase between darkness and light. It’s a piece about a fraternity, where a brother and sister together face their fear of the passing of time. The character designs refer to “Perfect Blue” by Satoshi Kon; realistic animations and drawings used to deal with a mature subject. They also referenced the old comic book style, similar to Moebius’ work. This cultural mix of Japanese and Occidental styles is a reflection of Lastlings’ heritage.

Upon signing to Astralwerks earlier this year, Lastlings unleashed the dark pop electronica track, “Take My Hand.” Also influenced by their Japanese heritage, the official video weaves elements from one of their most beloved animes, “Your Name” by Makoto Shinkai. “Take My Hand” caught the attention of influential tastemakers like Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs and Torren Foot, who flipped the original into three stunning remixes. Last month, Lastlings kicked off RÜFÜS DU SOL’s debut Rose Ave Radio show on SiriusXM. Listen to Episode 1, here

A fundamental part of the Kontiki program is supporting the communities visited while also enriching the guest experience. “We believe strongly that conscious travel is especially important as we connect our guests with local communities. Giving back is as important as receiving,” Nuñez noted.

Kontiki’s luxury boutique yachts, which have only nine staterooms each, are able to visit smaller ports.

The programs are led by 10 crew members and two local experts committed to sustainability and conscious travel. Onboard, wellness professionals, naturalist guides and a local chef add to the distinctive Kontiki experience. Guests can expect to see the country’s beloved blue-footed boobies along with sea lions and howler monkeys. Gastronomic experiences featuring local chocolate, seafood, and produce will be enjoyed both onboard and on land.

The yachts are 128 feet-long and include nine staterooms, a sundeck, a gourmet salon, two outdoor lounges, bar, Jacuzzi, and a gym and fitness area. 1. What was the biggest inspiration that got you to where you are now in the music industry?

Growing up, I always loved “putting on a show” or performing. I would watch videos of Britney Spears and *NSYNC and dream to be on stage one day. My mom has always been and will always be my inspiration and number one supporter because she’s always supported me while following my dreams and has never given up on me!

2. Which song of yours are you most proud of, and why?

I would say my new song “Hola” because it is the first song that I released through Pitbull’s label Mr. 305. Signing to him and his label was such an amazing moment in my life and I can’t wait for the world to hear the rest of the music I have in store!

3. How did you first get involved with acting, and how has it contributed to your overall skills and experience in the entertainment industry?

I have actually been acting since I was about 8 years old. As I said before, I have always loved putting on a show and being in front of the camera. I think being a good actor really helps portray my emotions/feelings through my dancing and music. I really feel they all go hand and hand.

4. What has been one of the most memorable experiences working with another artist, and why?

JLO JLO JLO! Anyone that knows me/follows me knows how obsessed I am with her and to be able to have had the opportunity to meet and film a video with her was truly a dream come true! Throughout the years, we have always had a lot of similarities and I would love to one day do a song with her or be in a movie with her. Fingers crossed!

5. What kinds of messages do you intend to communicate to your different audiences and fans?

I hope to always promote positivity and inspire anyone who ever watches my content or listens to my music. I am so grateful to have such amazing supporters from all around the world and I want them to always know that I am here for them for whatever they are going through and that they are not alone.

6. How have you been able to juggle dancing, acting, singing, songwriting, and much more?

It definitely isn’t easy, but when you truly love what you do, you make it work! I am almost obsessed with what I do and love it so much that I never want to stop! I also think life is about balance and I try to balance everything so that I don’t overwhelm myself.

7. In what ways do you feel empowered, and how can you spread this sense of empowerment to others?

I feel most empowered when I make someone else happy or feel good. Helping others has always been a huge passion of mine so when I see other people feeling empowered, it empowers me!

8. After getting into the modeling world very early in your life, how did this help you progress your later pursuits?

Starting to model at an early age really taught me a lot about what hard work and discipline meant. I think it also got me to be even more comfortable with myself and truly love who I was !

9. If you were to give your younger self some advice about “making it” in the realm of entertainment, what would it be?

I know this might sound “cliche,” but it would be to never give up and never let other people bring you down. I was extremely sensitive growing up (I still am) but I would always worry about what other people thought of me. Now with social media, I know it’s really hard to not let what other people say affect you, but if you believe in and don’t give up on yourself, I promise you that your dreams will come true!

10. What’s the next major goal you hope to achieve as an artist?

My all-time dream goal is to go on tour and meet/perform for all of my amazing fans around the world. I also hope to continue putting out music and keep inspiring!

Planning a US Trip After the Quarantine? Here’s What You Need to Prepare

Traveling is good for people’s souls as it reduces stress to most of us. But with this current pandemic happening around the world, people can’t even go back to their normal life and it really affects everything. It is like a nightmare that everyone’s wishing to end. Many flights these days are postponed and canceled and traveling is very limited for essential goods only. Quarantine and lockdown are implemented globally and it requires social distancing.

We all know that most people dream to travel across the US. It is the most popular travel destination throughout the world. You can still pursue your American dream when the virus is not present anymore. Planning a US trip for a vacation after this pandemic can be very exciting after a long period of staying at home, but we have to be more careful than usual and prepare everything needed to travel safely because as they say this is the new normal.
Here are the things you need to prepare for your future US Trip.

Passport and Visa

When traveling to other countries, it is important that you have a valid passport with at least a minimum of 6 months’ validity for most of the countries requirements. It is also important to obtain a visa if the consulate requires you to have before you enter the country. This depends on the regulation for every passport type. Some countries will be asked to obtain ESTA or the Electronic System for Travel Authorization, which replaces the American express visa system in the US for certain countries. https://www.estaform.org/ was formed by the Department of Homeland Security of the United States, allowing 39 nations the freedom to travel to the US without needing to apply for an official American visa.

TSA Approved Lock

When traveling to the US it is a must to buy a TSA approved lock before packing your luggage. Transportation Security Administration or TSA implements strict baggage procedures for safety and security. All bags are screened and sometimes need to be physically checked so they are allowed to break your bag lock. It is helpful if you buy a TSA approved lock to avoid losing or breaking it and to keep your bags safe to your final destination.

Itinerary

The United States is a very big country and it has many states. Before your trip, it is essential to plan your itinerary so you can fulfill your American dream. Consider exceptional and thrilling destinations with rich histories and cultures. Of course don’t forget to list down the popular places like New York, LA, and Vegas. Prepare for the activities you might want to visit and try like Universal Studios. List down everything so that you will not miss out on anything on your trip.

Accommodation and Pocket Money

No one wants to cram at the airport with their heavy luggage and ruin the trip because of stress. Book your hotel or accommodation before your trip so that everything will go smoothly upon arrival in the US. You have endless options for accommodation so you can choose whether you prefer the luxurious or the budget time lodging. Most prices in the US are listed excluding the tax and it also depends on where you are visiting. So be prepared to have enough budgets as everything will have additional costs.

All things will run smoothly if you will be well prepared for your dream US trip. You just have to keep in mind that this time you also have to be extra careful and practice proper hygiene to prevent any health risk. Don’t forget to always bring alcohol and sanitizers and of course, always wash your hands to keep yourself traveling healthy and COVID free.

4 Travel Goals You Need to Check Off in 2020

2020 has been a tough year so far. With lockdowns, isolation and social distancing, it has been difficult to really live life to its fullest.

If you are feeling a bit itchy to get out, know that you are not alone. In fact, research shows that 72% of Americans are already booking their trips now for when restrictions are lifted, with 35% of those willing to head out during the summer.

Has 2020 become the year for people to finally start ticking off their travel bucket list items? It sure seems so! With this in mind, we thought we would take a look at some of the most popular and most memorable experiences you can do this year, and most of them will not involve huge crowds of people.

RV Through the US

This particular trip tops the list of almost everyone who has a serious drive for adventure and travel. The beauty of RVing through the US is that you can choose the length of your trip, as well as decide which route you want to take.

Whether it would be taking in the majestic Rocky Mountains and stopping in at museums, diners, and, of course, Yellowstone, or a trip through the south to revel in some music, food, and incredible scenery through Florida, New Orleans and of course, Texas, you definitely won’t regret it.

There are endless possibilities that will lead you on totally different adventures, through vastly different scenery.

RVing is something that you will need to prepare for thoroughly because you can never know what might happen and whether you’ll have the right resources at the time being to fix it. This is easily avoidable if you just have everything at the ready so you can enjoy your trip to the max. One of the more important things to consider is to make sure you have enough fresh water and a good RV water softener solution that will tie you over in even the most desolate areas. Remember that water should always be your top priority,  Make sure you also plan your trips in detail before heading out so that you are not caught in the middle of nowhere without supplies and emergency services.

Explore the Wonders of Cape Town

Although Cape Town has been listed as one of the top beauty spots to visit globally by various sites, it is still one of the most chronically underrated spots to visit in the world. What makes Cape Town so special you ask? Well, it has almost everything you want out of a trip. This South African city, perched at the tip of Africa, has a uniquely international feel to it, and for the most part, you will forget that you are in fact, in Africa.

Besides boasting one of the seven wonders of the world, Table Mountain, the city has long stretches of white beaches, a bustling city life; bursting with art and culture, and sunsets that will make you want to live there forever.

Not even an hour out of Cape Town, you will find the sprawling Winelands, tucked into spectacular mountain ranges with some of the best wine in the world. Might we add that the food in South Africa is something not to be missed, from the fresh seafood to the world-famous braais, you will be in for a treat.

The city is steeped in history, and even if you are after a safari experience, you can also find this within a short drive out of the city. If you are a foodie, a wine snob, a coffee connoisseur, or an art fanatic, this city has it all!

Trek Through Peru

This is certainly not for the faint-hearted nor the chronically unfit. But, if a spiritual journey and soul-freeing trip is what you are looking for after months of cabin fever, this is for you. There are a plethora of trails and treks to choose from in this tourist popular region, each with its different levels of difficulty and challenges.

One of the most popular trails, the Inca trail is an iconic four-day hiking trail which leads you through the steep high mountains, from km. 82 all the way to the majestic Machu Picchu. You will follow the route taken by the original Incas to the historic World Heritage Site.

What do you need to be prepared for? Because of the height of the mountains that you will be hiking, you are most likely to suffer from altitude sickness, insects, dehydration, and of course, the blisters, injuries, and pain that comes from trekking through deserted mountainsides. But, it is totally worth it once you cross the last mountain and come face to face with Machu Picchu.

Take it Easy in Thailand

If this all sounds like too much effort, and what you feel like right now is just lying back on a warm beach, drinking cocktails, Asia should be your next destination.

Not only is Thailand incredibly affordable, but it offers visitors endless adventures and activities. The beauty of the islands is indescribable, with long, white beaches, still blue waters and dotted palm trees to really get you in the holiday spirit.

The food is incredible, the people are warm, friendly, and accommodating, and the weather is hot and humid at all times.

You can choose to island-hop to the various idyllic islands spotted around the crystal blue waters, including the iconic island that featured in the movie, The Beach. There are a number of other islands to visit, including Ko Samui, Ko Pha Ngan, and Ko Phi Phi Don.

Alternatively, you can head up into the jungle and trek up through the mountains on an elephant adventure, or on foot to explore the rivers and waterfalls on this amazing island.
